An overly thorough review of LOVE, THEORETICALLY by ALI HAZELWOOD (acomaf vibes)

3.75/5 Stars. This was a pretty solid easy read. This book read me TO AN ABSOLUTE TEE.I related to Elsie a little to much. It was a little scary. I feel like maybe Ali Hazelwood placed some hidden cameras in my brain or something.... i don't know.
What are your thoughts on this book? I feel like it had so so much potential in the beginning and it just failed during the middle portion. I also think Jack was barely a real person. They didn't dive into his life as much as they really should have. I still swoon at the thought of him, though.
Also, I want to say that I am DEFINITELY not the first person who's said Jack looks like Nanami, I'm pretty sure I got that idea from a review or something; i just don't remember.

I think her message in the Epilogue was her saying that she wants to marry him because he says that he's all in with her and he wants to be with her forever in the previous chapter but she's not ready and this is her saying she's ready

I didn't get the epilogue as well! What was she planning about , i mean with the days she kept talking about? If his birthday was Thursday why was she thinking about doing something before? This one is definitely my fave of her books. And i would really enjoy if Ali wrote something from Jack's pov! I live that you cast yourself as Elsie 😅

I actually have absolutely 0 interest in ali's work so this is perfect i could get involved in the drama without the hard work thank you so much. Girl you leveled up this jack boy too much with associating him with nanami I almost got sold. Sjm stan is a bit.. ok i guess i could work with that I'll try i promise. I havveee a recommendation i think you would really like it if you could past the cringe it has like girl you read ali i think you could do it I'm 80% in and it's like ok it's just a little silly kinda short romcom I'd really like to hear your thoughts about it if you've read it or planning to , it's " vanessa jared's got a man" it's not a literary masterpiece by any means but there's somethings to like about it , I'd still say that be cautious cause it has instant attraction and i was like yall just met like wth what do you mean i can't stop thinking about her bro, but you know now thinking about it i don't think it's a rec it's more like let's suffer together type of situation 😭😭😭 I'm sorry you don't have to read it it really wasn't bad at all like if i suffered I'd immediately drop it but it did has some stuff that was a bit cringe and a lott of unrealistic dialogue like literally people don't talk like that but whatever, it also had a lot of repetition like the man lives in small town and she's from the city and whenever smth happens he's like this is what it's like here like bro ok i get it , omg it seems like it has only negative points but it had a really fun premise to me so like the couple are people in their 40s so they're adults, the girl is someone who's trying to get over her divorce of her abusive husband of 20 years so there is that character journey, there's group of friends for the girl and the guy so you have some friendships there too , but really what sold it to me is the man another freaking Michael oooh god there was scenes when I'm like EXCUSE ME SIR like where did you learn that sheesh like i really liked him the most in this whole thing and yeah it could be so cheesy but i likeeddd that man so much he's also Korean American which reminded me of my favorite man Michael phan from the kiss quotient like of course I'd like him. Over all i really enjoyed it so far it got a bit dragged and i actually had no interest in what's going on events wise i was there to see my man only so i skimmed through the plot so i don't know if my review would be accurate . I'm sorry i got way out of the topic but yeah thanks for including me in you definitely saved me from the feeling of messing out.

Also, my sunscreen was the supergoop mist/spray sunscreen. Would not recommend bc the bottle is also bad. I am a sjm stan 😭 but a lowkey one & it’s definitely a guilty pleasure. I know she’s flawed & the books are cheesy. I just love her characters.

@DiemmiLe girl yeah he's actually reminds me of Michael in a lot of asbects like that freaking mouth of his but also how he would do anything for his family (we love a duality king), i just finished the rest literally the last night and umm i don't really know like i had so many moments where i stop and be like "girl be so fr" like it's either that literally no one talks like that , or it's almost like info dump where it's giving sjm "world building", or a very questionable reaction like the man just finished truama dumping where he got out his deepest darkest secret and she was like 🥰🥰🥰 ok thanks for telling me we're cool let's fuck , like girll the man have been through so much i was literally crying and there wasn't an ounce of comfort like did i miss smth, yet somthing I'd applaud them for is COMMUNICATION like i was literally impressed where in an argument for the first time i read in a book and i don't feel triggered or nervous they Were calmly explaining to each other explicitly how they feel and they never hurted each other like i was genuinely shocked people can actually do that , the thing that really got me questioning things is that the whole freaking book took a week i mean like the events in the book were just a week i was literally flabbergasted like yeah yall still have no idea about each other yet acting like yall's each other LOML literally calm down i don't know I'm just gonna choose to ignore that to keep my sanity , i definitely think this whole book is based on physical attraction which i don't think it's solid enough to make life changing decisions that they made out if their newly discovered love like i really don't know if you put your mind off and irrationally read it you would enjoy it it's funny silly cute sexy romcom but i couldn't sadly do it and that's literally why i neverr read romcoms , so my review is very biased based on my inability to just shut the fuck up and enjoy the tea, like it wasn't problematic which is literally one of my biggest pet peeve like the sec that happens you'll find my out I'm not wasting my time on that , but it was the opposite it was empowering for that woman in her journey, it had diverse characters, it was refreshing to see older couples I've never read something like that before, it was well intended you could see that even though the execution was a bit cringe. Finally it had its good and bads (at least to me) and now I'm more interested in seeing what you think of it , thank you for listening to my ted talk.

​@DiemmiLe ooh sad to hear that i literally HATE IT when i have a bad sunscreen it's literally so annoying like girl you have one jop why can't you do it right, but you know i have sc recommendation i literally tried so much and there is always a problem with every single one like you girl was struggling, the one that i liked the most is "[G9SKIN] White In Milk Sun Plus 40ml SPF50+/PA++++" it's a korean one but be careful take the pink bottle not the white one , it's such a simple sunscreen which is all i would ever want but it's more on the shiny side if you absolutely don't like that then maybe you won't like it it's nothing extreme though , there is also "beauty of joseon sunscreen" I'm planning to try it next when i have a chance I've only heard good things about it. Girll I'm not judging it's just a joke I'm sorry😭😭😭😭😭 please don't feel bad for liking whatever book you want it's just a little inside joke between me and myself where i like to think about sjm stans as brainwashed cause like yeah of course you'll like it you've been reading over 1000 pages if you put that amount of energy on anything you'll have to like it , literally I'm not the one to judge like I'm scamming through a whole book just to meet my man I'm no where to judge you, I'm sorry i didn't mean it in a bad way please 😭😭😭😭.
