I'll never understand the relevance of win / loss records for a future game. What does Mahomes' "record as an underdog" matter, or any other of those cited records? These are all numbers of the past and have zero significance for the next game. Every game is different, every game has different circumstances and dynamics.

Because, your past is a great indicator of your future. Example; Imagine a team averages 28-34 points, you wouldn't expect that team to score 60 And, you wouldn't think that they could be held to 7.... Yes, an average score tells you something about how many points you expect to have to score. But you develop your game plan by identifying specific weaknesses in your opponent and develop solutions to specific patterns and problems while maximizing your strengths and the opponent's weaknesses. An average total number of points tells you little to nothing about such weaknesses as it's simply the total outcome of the efforts. It doesn't tell you anything about HOW a team scores. And you don't approach a drive in a different way depending on your opponent's average score. But anyway, yes: Go Chiefs!
