Most impressive bushwhacking and discovery of well! Then onto constructing your own powerplant! Billy, you and your fellow explorers/inventors/mechanics/handymen are a delight to watch and follow. You are all so neat, too. Like my dad taught us, "Clean as you go and the work stays more manageable." The change in the convent in just a few months has been astounding. From being hidden under the new growth forest, to being freed in the sunlight. What an absolutely gorgeous gem! I love visiting France and you and your magical family and the other Brits who are rescuing chateaux (and convents and other structures with magnificent properties) gives my heart such happiness. My frequent trips (via Utube) are better and more often than I could ever have imagined, or hoped to have been able to afford, to do in real life. Hello, Friendly neighborhood archaeologist here. Billy, archaeologists love wells because people often lose, discard or hide items in wells! Before you "modernize" the well, since it is at such a low level, you should take a look for artifacts! Keep in mind that some may be covered under bottom sediment. If this well seems relatively modern then there is a likely possibility that an older well might exist elsewhere on the property. The older well dried up or went out of use and a new well dug. Many old wells have been excavated and everything from swords and armor to human remains and jewelry have been found. The majority of this convent's history would have been during a time that water would be hand drawn or hand pumped from the well. It may help you to tell part of the convent's story! Good Luck!

Here in the States we have groups of doctors getting together as a team in a common place. Each has a specialty or is a general practitioner. Thus you can get referred by your primary physician from one specialist to another who can fulfill your special needs. The convent, with all those rooms could be ideal with some modifications for something like this. But I don’t know the system in France. Here it works just great.

The videos are so interesting to me watching from London, Kentucky US. Ryan doing the camera giving Billy free ability to do more and show more progress on the convent. Could you host a Christmas Bazaar on the courtyard this holiday season or allow the town businesses to each have a tree decorating contest with proceeds going to charity. Each business must pay a fee to have a tree. Invite the town and country to visit and vote for favorite tree. Just a suggestion to introduce your great work and beautification of the Convent.

You know what I think of people who ask nosey, rude, irrelevant questions? I think they should be ignored and not given any attention or air time whatsoever. I also think that these people are very likely trolls and answering their questions will never get you anywhere. They only want to trap you. So cool to see all of the things that are being uncovered or rediscovered while clearing and repairing. Is the chapel considered consecrated? If not it could be used for small gatherings for speakers. Or, if it is consecrated then maybe used for private religious ceremonies like small weddings, baptisms, etc. Obviously you are far from knowing exactly what you want to do with this property but it's going to be fabulous! Thank you for another great video. You may have a submersible pump installed in the well. In the video I can't be certain but seems to be an electrical conduit leading down to the bottom of the well. I'd suggest checking the power source for the pump then test it.

I am also a member of a religious order. I have just returned from emptying out one of our houses to make it ready to receive Ukrainian refugees. So many religious houses are now decommissioned. It is very sad. I hope the sisters who are still alive and lived in this beautiful place have the opportunity of their old home coming to life again. I also deeply appreciate the respect the new occupants have for the convent traditions. It is a transformation that gives new life and encouragement to us all.

When you showed testing the Battery Backup system in the previous video, it seemed like there was a few second delay between the time you cut the mains and when everything switched over. That means that if the power goes out, your security system would lose power and have to reboot. You should get a UPS to power the security system. It wouldn't have to be a very big one since it would only have to keep things powered up for a few seconds, but that would insure that even in a power outage, everything stays up.

Billy and Ryan, I have a question for the next Q&A video: Please tell us about bulk rubbish disposal in France. In a recent video you loaded up the Transit with the old kitchen cabinets and took them to a place with numbered drop-off bins. Please explain how that system works - how is it determined where you put your rubbish and what happens to the rubbish after you drop it off? Also, is there a charge for using the facility or is it a municipal service that is paid for through taxes?
