Dealt with severe hemorrhoids since my first pregnancy. So 19 years later I had the surgery Nov 2nd 2022.. the pain is ridiculously high! Pain meds help a little but not much, epsom salt baths like 15 times throughout the day and overnight helped more then anything else. I have no clue how my doctor did the procedure but he was an amazing doctor. Have had some issues here and there . But I had 50plus hemorrhoids and 1 thrombosed hemorrhoid and my surgeon said they were all grade 4. So I had to get surgery. Going to the bathroom is scary and excruciating. I have a hemorrhoid flare also for the past couple days, e.r said nothing .

Hello. I am just in awe watching your videos. I’m not exaggerating when I say this has been life saving. From the perspective of both patient and doctor this information is what is necessary for successful outcomes! It’s not always feasible time-wise to explain the detail that’s contained in all of these videos but every office should have a patient educator, and patient resources like this available in addition to information given during diagnosis/conset etc. Thank you so much for speaking plainly and so thoroughly.

Had mulligans in Sweden. Was told the surgeon was good. Precribed stool softener as a drink 1 week before surgery. The result was almost no pain directly afterwards when going to toilet for first time. No pain after either. Stool softener drink continued for 2 weeks after and morphine tablets i came off after 4 or 5 days. No stenosis and all working fine now. My hemorrhoids were large and inside. Not outside. I had three surgeries and each surgery had one year in between each to remove all the trouble. I’m happy and feel good after seeing so many have had trouble. I travelled far each time to get the recommended surgeon at his hospital. I turned down a few due to little information about results after their work. My surgeon was highly Recomended and i had many questions before. I am not a gay man but i said i was, because i thought it would add focus to a better job in this area🤩. No stenosis.

I have this I think. I read online that complications after a hemorroidectomy are rare. It is as rare as online reports suggest? From why I’ve seen haemorrhoid surgery doesn’t seem too safe ☹️ I know there’s a bias because most people are here due to complications but This has been on my mind lately.

Thanks for making this video. I got a hemmeroidectmy 2 and a half years ago and at first I thought it would get better. I now have anal stenosis, it still hurts when I go to the bathroom and I have to pass it very slow. As a homosexual this is VERY frustrating because I haven’t had receptive sex with my partner ever since. My doctor never told me this would be a possibility. I went to him for a follow up recently and told him he stitched me too tight. He told me we could do surgery to stretch it but I’m scared he’s gonna mess me up even more because he seems like a quack proctologist. Guess that’s what happens when you’re on Medi-Cal. Idk what to do
@SamizzleFrizzly2 жыл бұрын
@theviralshorts9669 pretty much the same. He gave me numbing cream and told me to stretch myself out daily. He’s a quack doctor that I went to in central California. As a gay man, I am SO FRUSTRATED! A normal anus can stretch about 6 inches, you know, if you go slowly. I’m like the size of a penny and it don’t stretch and hurts when I go to the restroom because I was stitched wayyyyyyy too tight. Think I’m gonna sue the doc. I’m gonna go to Stanford and see what they can do.
@SamizzleFrizzly2 жыл бұрын
@theviralshorts9669 yeah it’s scar tissue so it’s not elastic not one bit. We would literally have to have another surgery where the doc cuts it open somehow. Idk. Sucks.

I just had my hemorrhoidectomy 10 days ago. They were internal grade 3 circumferential. My recovery hasn’t been that bad; however, as a married gay man I’m worried that I will get stenosis which would hurt intimacy . I am so stressed about it that I started lubing my finger and inserting to check . I was able to go in , but boy is it tight . No idea if I’m actually developing stenosis or not . My other concern is that the outside of my anus has what looks like hemorrhoids ( almost looks like a bunch of grapes ) all the way around . That is the most painful part. I just hope that portion is normal and will go away . Anyway, I hope you are doing well and were able to solve your issue.

I had my hemorrhoidectomy in late October. Ended up with a tighter anal passage (?), but not full stenosis since my surgeon was able to put his finger in there. Still, he recommended anal dilatation which I did 4 weeks ago. He said the muscosa cracked, which is to be expected, so although things improved, I still have some pain after bowel movements. There is also still a bit of blood I can see in my stool. What is a reasonable recovery time post dilatation if the mucosa cracked? Also, my surgeon did say he had to cut away a lot when he removed 3 large hemmoroids which is why I am where I am right now (6 months post hemmoroidectomy).

On day 50 post hemmroidectormy. Moderate but troublesome case of stenosis, suspect it was my own fault for not eating enough food for daily bowel movements. Switching gears on diet a week ago (eating a lot + fiber gummies) gave me much relief, but we'll see if it actually widens and becomes normal again over time on its own or if other methods will be necessary. I'll respond to anyone asking for an update.

@@perlaondit5590 Why yes. Things are looking good, it's inching back to normal on its own. A month ago it was somewhere between a nickel and quarter thick, now it's averaging quarter+ and in one instance in the ball park of dollar coin thick. Noticeably easier to push out too. Still a little blood as usual but the doc said healing is still progressing and will eventually stop in the coming weeks. Had a couple difficult/extra bloody days but they were flukes. Tips for diet. Drink most of your water during and after a meal so it doesn't just run through you. One glass of Miralax is good for greasing the wheels if you're feeling more anxiety/dread than usual or if you're afraid you ate something that might cause problems. I have it about twice a week. But think my doc was quite right that you'll want to try to ween off of laxatives in order for the stools to thicken up and stretch you, my thickest came when I toughed out a week with no miralax. Saw your comment and it sounds like you were in my boat. Looks like you survived, but if constipation happens eat more of everything (food, fiber, water) and take miralax morning and evening until things get moving. Then keep the foot on the gas with eating with occasional miralax. Exercise too to avoid weight gain.

I haven’t tried anal dilation at home by myself yet. don’t what i should be doing. i will just wait and see a couple of weeks how scar tissue will be. i will be taking some action if it doesn’t improve. if tightness continues it doesn’t take that long to get back hemorrhoids or anal fissures again. maybe i should not wait long and make conditions worse. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
