With its pharmacological profile, tramadol should be about the best antidepressant. Mehtamphetamine is prescribed for ADHD under the brand name Desoxyn.

About the "methamphetamine HCl"-yes; this is the generic name for "methamphetamine hydrochloride."}. But this is not prescribed very commonly-and pharmacies often will have to order this medication upon presentation of a prescription. Tramadol should be almost the best antidepressant"? Not commonly prescribed for "depression"-but for "pain".

Really good videos. But at 2:37 the slide says that paracetamol/acetaminophen blocks COX-1 and -2, but actually it is quite selective for COX-2.

+Morten Skouboe Thanks for the catch. I've annotated the slides to correct that mistake.

Thanks for the series. I may make a more detail-heavy one with the help of the 11th edition Kaplan book (Synopsis) and either do slides like this or video with representation of the meds. I guess I'd cover more details on receptor profile or something, but need to figure out if there's any need to really go beyond the level you have here for the purposes of what someone will watch on KZbin.

The video content is very interesting! I am a little confused: someone sent me a usdt and I have the recovery phrase. (pride)-(pole)-(obtain)-(together)-(second)-(when)-(future)-(mask)-(review)-(nature)-(potato)-(bulb) How do I extract them?

Is there any way I can get this to print out slides so I can study them? Trying so hard to cram all of this in my brain. Thank you for this, it's a life saver!

Paracetamol is a COX-3 inhibitor
@MemorablePsych
@MemorablePsych 8 жыл бұрын
From what I understand, the current understanding is that paracetamol's effects on COX-3, if they exist, are clinically insignificant, and the majority of its effects derive from COX-2 inhibition: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17884974

Thank you for the great videos, but I noticed that the study you linked above is pretty weak in terms of sample size. Five people is nothing to be excited about. The study also lacks support for why CV BBW risk of COX-2 inhibitors has not been documented in APAP. Do you know of any studies that address this?
@MemorablePsych
@MemorablePsych 7 жыл бұрын
I believe there is some degree of controversy on this. For example, one study with n>70,000 found that even acetaminophen was associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16534006. So I am not 100% certain on the exact mechanism of acetaminophen, but there seems to be a general consensus that it works at least partially on COX-2
