"Why can't people simply disagree anymore?" I agree, Dr. Grande. Some people have lost the ability to have a conversation about issues without getting personal, and it's sad. It shuts down discourse and polarizes us. Thank you, as always, for your channel.

it's pretty simple as to why, it's because Republicans just make extreme and baseless accusations such as election rigging, and drinking the blood of children to stay young. What is worse is there is documented evidence in for form of recordings that Dump attempted to rig an election and they act like it's no big deal. So THAT is why people can't "simply disagree". Because it goes beyond just a difference in governing policy, it is a difference in reality or at least morals (assuming they don't actually believe their lies) I am sick of hearing about trans issues too so pls dont bring that up as some kind of a counter balance to Republicunt lies about stolen elections or whatever conspiracy they have come up with lately.

You ever try talking to people who are on the extremes? I'm willing to bet they have vastly more mental health issues than the general population. People on the right will say "they're trying to groom our children (for sex)" and people on the left are like "there's literally Nazis marching on the street every day" and if you ask for evidence f either of these claims they'll reference the one time it's actually happened in the past 2 decades or accuse you of covering for the other side.

I think that it’s highly likely that Tucker personally does not believe in conspiracy theories. But, made a conscious / deliberate decision to go the conspiracy route solely for ratings for his show - an easy / lazy route to become #1 at Fox News.

I only watch Fox News because of Tucker Carlson. Now he has left there is no reason for me to watch it. I'm Australian, like Rupert. I've watched his business moves over the past 40 years. If religion makes him feel uncomfortable, maybe that's because he knows he's living in sin and hates being reminded of it. He wants to ignore his wickedness and pretend God doesn't exist and that he doesn't have to change his ways and turn to God. It's actually very telling about a person when they have such a knee jerk reaction to God. It reveals the yuck that lives in the shadows and darkness and exposes it to the light of truth to see it for what it really is. Disobedience and self-glorification.

Why would Fox fire someone echoing the sentiment of a majority of Americans?
@joakimlindblom8256

Why would you think that Tucker Carlson is echoing the sentiment of a majority of Americans? Poll after poll shows that majority of Americans disagree with Carlsons positions (e.g. solid majorities of 60% or above support that immigration should stay the same or increased, that abortions should be legal, and that racial integration should be increased). Just a theory, but my bet is that you are stuck in the Fox echo chamber: my advice is to listen to a wider spectrum of news sources in order to get a more accurate sense of the majority sentiment of Americans.

I believe that what actually got Tucker Carlson dismissed was his criticism of the networks' accepting of advertising money from corporations that benefit from those networks' reporting. It was old school conservative versus liberal thinkers in a calm way with a quiet audience listening. He even tried his best to help them state their points if they were having trouble. I just have to clarify this "immigration" thing. Tucker is not against responsible immigration, i.e. filling out the forms, paying the fees, taking the classes, getting a social security card, and becoming a productive tax-paying member of American society. What Tucker IS against is the thousands upon thousands of illegal border crossers, who contribute to things such as the fentanyl crisis, human trafficking, working illegally and taking American citizen's jobs, etc. You can't just say "he's against immigration" without knowing the difference between those who do it legally, and those who don't. And yes, IF given the chance, 90% of those illegals would vote democrat.
@greenbrain8725
@greenbrain8725 Жыл бұрын
The main reason for the flood of migrants is because there are jobs for them that Americans won’t do, or to be exact, employers prefer a cheap workforce which migrants provide. Workers who accept low wages, no benefits, and who will never complain about working conditions - these are the people”taking our jobs”. Notice how there is never a discussion about these employers. Trump himself employed them many a time. Not a peep about that angle. Simply stop providing jobs and any benefits for these people and they will stay home. You are not to bright. The illegals that large farming areas need to get food off the fields for slave wages normal Americans couldn't live off of. Immigration does need to be monitored, but most fentanyl is shipped here from China and Asia. It's not a bunch of Mexicans backpacking through the desert. Are you even for real. Why not think about what that would entail? The entire nation's drug supply is being back packed in by South Americans. That's hysterical, it's sad that idiots believe that, it's even more sad that it's a constant drumbeat for Republicans to spew to non thinking supporters.

Good analysis overall, but I have to say I'm not entirely sure about the proposition that Carlson was appropriating the techniques which were formerly exclusive of "liberal media" and that's the primary reason why they were so incensed with him. Rather, I think Tucker Carlson was appropriating the techniques of media in general - overdramatization, stoking divisions, and an all around tendency to make mountains out of molehills because, in the final analysis, that is what moves product. This isn't any special domain of the liberal media as Dr. Grande seems to suggest. In all likelihood, whatever dislike the leftward elements of media may have had about Carlson was simply because he was a conservative, and they're not. In other words, much of the antipathy toward Carlson - to the extent that there was any - was probably due to differences, not similarities.

@DarkFilmDirector
@DarkFilmDirector Жыл бұрын
You are both missing his point. Tucker and many of these FOX personalities learned and grew their bombastic style working for CNN or MSNBC in the past. Tucker Carlson gained his show style on Crossfire. Accusing him of being a traitor is proving his point. People on both sides can no longer simply disagree. This IS the media's fault 100%. The partisan hacks have to passionately hate one another. Todd levied plenty of criticism at FOX and Rupert Murdoch as well. But he also recognizes fault in how MSNBC and some CNN anchors behaved going back to the Bush administration and saw what Tucker learned from. FOX in many ways embraced the same thing but turned up the heat, showboating, and manipulation of the truth 1000x over. Thus Dr Grande is right when he says Tucker Carlson is a reflection of some others on the other side of the coin.

If there is one thing I dont hear from liberals its conspiracy theories and out right making an ass of the other side. Many, many bad things can be said if the left but this comparison is a joke. I'm not sure of a time that a liberal talk show host used the " I lie too much to be taken seriously about anything I say " defense in court. I also believe Fox will take a huge hit without Tucker for at least as long as Trump is in any political talks. His viewership numbers were huge in a time that podcasts and other forms of media are over taking television. Hopefully firings such as this and other recent ones ( Lemon ) will bring some sort of peace to tv viewing. It has become bash the other side and not look into the mirror at your own parties short comings. The discrimination lawsuit: it turns out the woman never met Tucker Carlson so even if there was something going on with the staff Tucker wasn’t personally involved. He worked remotely so wasn’t even around his own staff.

Is Dr. Grande using an appeal to authority to justify calling Tuckers January 6 coverage a conspiracy theory? As in “The government says they weren’t involved.” Or Phillip Morris telling us cigarettes don’t cause cancer?

@@aliahmed5571So if someone does not agree with you, they are implicitly dumb / less intelligent? That is not only a very egocentric view, but also really dumb; you inhibit your ability to get feedback on your own opinions, and thus to learn and to change your opinions, which is (about the only) a sign of intelligence. That is almost the definition of stupid.

My personal speculation: Ruppert sent a memo or something out to all employees after the Dominion payout, something about not pushing conspiracy theories anymore. But Tucker, thinking he was the most important thing at Fox said he wouldn't change what he was doing. Ruppert decided (rightly) that he was too much of a liability, and let him go. And I think the extreme fear mongering that Dr. G speaks of was the main reason for his success - fear, outrage and scandal have a way of getting eyeballs locked to the screen.

I think giving Ukraine a blank check with no accountability and no actual end game is the problem. Our government complains that social security is running out of money along with Medicare yet they took money from those funds to pay for pet projects. If they can send billions to Ukraine then they can repay the money they “borrowed “ which we have all paid into all our working lives.

@@carolyndavis6657 so true and what few people understand! The poor Ukrainian people are also the victims of a larger war game that is being played with their country and their lives by entities using their country for profit and power. We should not be there as a player in that game. The American people are being played and it is not going to end well, with the world on the brink of war.
