@@NikkiC777 Death penalty is a really bad idea. There are too many cases with cheating law enforcement and prosecutors.
@NikkiC777

@@martinwhite418 That is your opinion. I do not agree with it. My opinion is that if it is a case where it is very obvious who committed the crime, and it was a crime where the perpetrator intentionally killed the victim in a brutal, violent, sadistic way, then I feel that the death penalty is appropriate. The victim does not get to go on living, and she was only 20 years old. The criminals shouldn't get to go on living either. I am sure they won't get the death penalty though, not in this case, but they should. They'll get some extremely weak sentence and then they'll be back out by the time they're 35, free to go out and commit more crimes, and leech off society. Edit: I don't think the death penalty should be used unless it is a case where there is so much evidence that there is no question as to who committed the crime. Those guys in this video are definitely guilty. There are cases where there is more of a question about the guilt of a suspect. In a case like that I would not want them to get the death penalty either.

@Nikki C So we punish people who are "really" guilty with the death penalty, and we send people who are "probably sorta guilty" to prison for life. Sounds fair, that's not what U.S. law says, but we will just go with your version.

Her family will have a lifetime of anguish and they'll get some crazy sentence of 5yrs or less if any. Yah- the return to take photos as a Momento, of a stationary vehicle that had drifted off the side of the road (obviously containing a severally injured victim at minimum) demonstrates absolute intent to cause great harm. How does that differ from a serial rapist or murderer actively seeking out a victim. It would be devastating to learn they are prosecuted for anything less then first degree murder. Our cars were going around 45 mph in opposite directions. The can went completely through my windshield. Fortunately it went through the center of the windshield and landed on the backseat of the minivan, where no one was sitting. What a mess. I, or my passenger, would have been seriously injured if that pop can had actually hit one of us. So dangerous. Also, the can was still full when it hit the seat, so it's not like it weighed significantly less after it went through the windshield. My mom was so pissed. I’m sorry, but there have been NUMEROUS fatal incidents Involving someone throwing a rock or some other object into traffic and striking a person in a vehicle, causing the death of the person. The news coverage of these cases was broadcast nationally and repeatedly. The risk of killing a person by throwing objects into traffic is very well known, especially in the internet age. These boys knew what they were doing and what they had been responsible for after they watched that girl’s car drift off the road, and decided to take a photo of her mangled car and possibly her body to keep as a “memento.” IMO, that absolutely shows a grave indifference to human life and the consequences of their actions were not as devastating to them as it should have been. The fact that they all turned on each other is just another example of the lack of empathy and compassion for the people affected by the moronic decisions they made. Prayers? Seriously? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just an fyi, dude; your god let that rock kill her. I mean, not in reality... because that's some bad juju, imaginary and nonsensical claptrap. If you actually believe in the nonsense then your god did, in fact, let this happen. Oh.... I hear ya "the good lord works in mysterious ways" but prayer is less than useless. Make a casserole for them or something... at least that's real and takes some minimal amount of effort. True story: one of my sons died when he was a few days shy of his 19th birthday... some god freak said this to me "Well, he's now in a much better place... there's some comfort in that." I'll admit that it wasn't my finest hour but I punched him several times in the face and body... hurt my hands quite a lot. Was arrested, detained but released about 10 - 12 hours later. No charges were followed through on.... bit of luck, that. Thank god, right? 🤣🤣🤣 Be careful what you say to people who are grieving... particularly the grief experienced by the loss of a child. It's "next level" grief.... again; not my finest hour but I don't actually regret it one bit.

They are a special kind of stupid, aren't they? Poor Alexa and her family and the others affected by these actions. These three require consequences. I hope they meet some serious ones. This is not a prank. People know that people "can" die, but went ahead anyhoo - and as you say, they chose large rocks. They knew something was wrong and just enjoyed that they had harmed someone. The lack of empathy points to a need to nip this in the bud. It will only escalate. Agree Dr G. 30 years would be an excellent result.

My daughter was hit in the head at a school bus stop by a palm sized rock. A crazed girl decided to throw a handful of rocks in the air every time a car approached... on the first day of school, no less. One badly aimed rock came straight down on my daughter's head and caused a nasty injury. A similar incident occurred a few weeks later, when a different group of kids were throwing rocks at cars while standing on a street corner. It's funny how quickly that behavior stops when you press charges. Real quick. Cops said the kids were practically crying when they showed up. But this is what you have to do. Word gets around quickly, and kids change their behavior. But society is too concerned with feeling sorry for the perpetrators as the first reaction.

Not sure they felt quite the same thrill following 2 deaths and a bus driver so traumatised, he retired. The little itty-bitty pebble hit her windshield right at the A-pillar, spraying Mom with glass, and actually tore through the sheet metal. Mom freaked out, but managed to safely pull over ad stop. Good thing she was wearing sunglasses. Took her about 20 minutes to gather herself before proceeding. That pebble could've hit her right between the eyes, instead of going past her head by an inch.

The same happened to me in the early 2000s in San Diego. My windshield exploded while driving southbound in my work truck on the 163 approaching the 8. Suddenly, a 2 x 3in hole appeared in the windshield at head level on the driver's side but nothing penetrated into the cab. I remember seeing nothing, then a fog of glass particles filled the cab and glistened in the morning sunlight, almost in slow motion. My eyes protected by my sunglasses I began checking my body for damage, I'm alive, and continued toward my exit traveling at 75mph. Holy shit, my heart was beating fast! I thought that something must have bounced off the roadway but thought it was unusual that I didn't see the bounce happen. Later the company owner sent a repair truck to replace the glass while I worked my job in an SD highrise doing my daily grind as an electrician. It was months later that I found out that people were throwing rocks onto the expressways here and someone had been struck but I can't be sure of the extent of the damages. I got lucky (yet again). Good evening, Dr. Grande! Unfortunately, incidents such as these are common and usually remain open and unsolved cases. Usually, they occur when people thrown rocks off of bridges over streets, expressways and thruways, and the scumbags (if caught, which is rare) claim that they didn't mean to hurt anyone. Frequently, the scumbags are children or teenagers, and, if caught, rarely do much, if any, time. At least in Rochester, New York. Fortunately, scumbags usually have cell-phones with which they share their experiences with others, which can be used for their apprehension. Yes, they wanted to cause destruction. And, if it leads to fatalities, should earn them good, several decades-long stretches in a hell-hole of a prison. Now, THAT'S entertainment! Thanks for sharing.

These types of undirected faceless crimes stir me up. It´s connected to a feeling of helplessness and "it can happen at anytime" state. Being hit by whatever in the passing is a method to avoid responsibilty and shows extreme cowardiness and lack of impulse control when you think the target is an easy victim. I guess this type of crime comes from people with deep devaluation of like you said human in general, an extreme behaviour that forms in people who probably feeel themselves as the victim and failure in society.

Got a DUI and wasn't allowed to leave unless someone sober picked him up but He was too embarrassed to call. I can only imagine alexas friend's terror of finding her.

I know this isn't how the system works but in my mind, it doesn't matter whose stone killed Alexa. They engaged in the same malicious act together.

I remember a semi-truck driver being killed by a brick thrown from an overpass in the 80's. He got murder charges.
