Hi So sorry you feel like that at times. Please hang in there. It will get better. I remember my son telling me later that whole guilt trip of "dissapointing and saddening" your loved ones was causing a LOT of angst and discomfort when he wanted to leave and I was putting pressure on him to stay. I really regret it now and am so glad his criticisms and questions are what helped me wake up. All the best wishes for a free future for you.

Its hilarious how we aren't allowed to differ in interpretation of the bible. "When you become a Jehovah's witness its because you agree with all the teachings" until of course the governing body decides they have a different interpretation thats more correct than the previous one. Then everyone needs to believe the new interpretation. As a teen i was studying with an older sister and explained what i understood of the lesson we were discussing. She told me i wasn't quite right. A year later she called to say that the governing body had changed their perspective on it and that what i had said was actually correct. Cant remember what it was for the life of me. She was a very sweet woman. One of the one's i was sad to leave behind. RIP Camille, wish i could have said goodbye.

Just catching you mid conversation. Your mention of suicidal ideations caught my attention. After getting over the heartbreak 💔 that I was in a cult and that, hey, I'm a decent person after all, the suicide ideations went away for almost three years. It only returned when I moved back to the area where I grew up. However, that's where the religion and sexual abuse brought me full circle. The constant confirmation that we're 'good for nothing slaves', has raised its ugly head. Continue the struggle. You have a lovely wife and I appreciate your activism and your wife's participation and support.

1:17:01 I don’t think I caught it the first time you said it. That witnesses are taught not to make friends at work. So it’s kinda like being shunned by that company if you leave a job. But I’m so glad you reiterated that there’s no comparison. You can still talk to coworkers after you leave. You can still talk to your family and friends who may or may not work for your former employer. The illustration fails at every turn. A child should not be able to enter a legal life long contract. A child should not forced into employment. A contract made without informed consent is void at any age. It’s so freaking stupid. It’s NOT a choice to be shunned.

Your specific recording helped me a lot when I was waking up. I still come back to it every now and then to kind of remind myself and to remember what JW speak sounds like. It's really good to hear you react to it retrospectively not only as a fellow exJdub but also as a fellow content creator. Your opinions and thoughts change a lot over the years and it can be weird looking back on how you felt as a sort of time capsule. It's at times like these I'm really bothered that I never recorded my own JC. I wonder what I may have been able to get out of it

I’m 60, haven’t been a part of the JW for a good 15 years or more. But just this year I realized that I have been carrying a fear/guilt with me. The good old JW guilt of what will happen if I am wrong and they are right. In my head I know I cannot support the teachings, but sometimes there are those doubts when you see world events, you know the ones. But listening to you and a few others talk reasonably about their experiences has given me great comfort and a way to work through the mind games that were played with me since I was a child. Keep up the good work.

Something that always helped me was the realization that "what if they're right?" applies to all the other religions, too. Sure, what if the Witnesses are right? Terrifying implications, certainly. But what if the Norse are/were right? Are you willing to die in glorious battle just in case there's a Valhalla? How about Islam? Or Judaism? What if vampires are real and you've gone all this time without hanging garlic above your door? Pascal's Wager is an emotional weapon they've trained us to use even on ourselves to keep us in line. In their hubris, they never imagined it could apply to any other faith or belief that claims our very lives are in peril. We can't possibly follow every belief and practice to save ourselves from a possible fate, and even if we could, wouldn't the gods (whichever ones) see that we're just doing it to save ourselves anyway? Wouldn't that be way more insulting than not following any of them, and instead following our reason? If there's a god who's worth a damn, I'm sure they'll appreciate us being reasonable more than following out of fear or blind faith. Just food for thought.

I was born Jehovah’s Witness , and on Aug 12th, 2021, I prayed to Jehovah letting him know how much this religion has hurt my heart. Since I was born I’ve been told that God was going to destroy all who were not witnesses. I couldn’t do it anymore I prayed to God letting him know all the damage this religion has done in my life....I told God that all I wanted was his love not paradise especially knowing all the non-witnesses that I loved were dead and I would gladly give my life in exchange for my children that are not witnesses. I told him I could no longer assist meetings because this religion is making me think badly of him. I remember yelling in my head how I couldn’t understand how a loving God could do this knowing our imperfections...I was sobbing, overwhelmed with grief when all of a sudden I heard a thought: I would never hurt anyone. I felt it down to my bones, I instantly calmed down and felt at peace. That night as I was laying down, my whole body started with intense waves of vibration, I started to sit up and it kept going, then I just had this knowing not be afraid and I just relaxed and immediately I started seeing all these lights and I was in a tunnel of light. I kept thinking if my husband turned around I was going to be sparkling! Then I was inside of this most amazing light that was filling me with so much love, fractals of light were coming towards me and all I could hear was I love you, you are loved over and over again. I felt all the pain and hate and hurt melt from my core, I was just floating there in unimaginable love and bliss, I remember being asked if I wanted to stay and I thought of my kids and then it just melted away and I was sitting in bed. I was drunk with Gods love for 2 weeks, I was healed from a full body skin illness I had been suffering for 3 years. I haven’t been back to any meetings since. Haven’t spoken to any elders about what happened just my mom and husband her reaction was not surprising, immediately told me to talk to an elder. I know they will say it was demonic, but how can a love so complete not be from something so pure? Because of this experience, I started researching and was blown away by THOUSANDS of accounts of others who have had this out of body experience called NDE or STE, I’m telling you it’s mind blowing how death has been held over us. Everyone says the same thing: God is not Judging us WE are!!! I still pray and feel Gods Holy Spirit with me something I had never felt in the Kingdom Hall! I just want others to know that God is not in the kingdom hall he is in our hearts everywhere we go, always. He does not give us the spirit of fear, anything in the Bible that causes fear is a misinterpretation. Jesus came to free us from the lies and it’s happening again, we are the new scrolls...the countless witnesses of how religions are a snare! Jesus said it was done! He didn’t say now we have to follow another religions rules to inherit the kingdom! I’m ending this by saying...My Father and I share the same will that ALL WILL BE SAVED!

I had the same feelings after praying, maybe not to your extent of experience 😊 I'm more close to Jesus, Jehovah, Holy Spirit now that I've left than I was ever in. Born in, left after my JW mom passed, moved away to live with my non-JW dad to go to college. Did a lot of searching afterwards. Experienced many miracles and blessings to know Jesus is with me and loves me. I don't need a flawed, corrupt organization to dictate my life. So happy reading about your experience 🥰 Much blessings to you 💓

That's a really cool experience! I'm an ex-Lutheran who attended a private Christian university where, ironically, I quickly came to accept that I was gay & got a secret girlfriend. I don't necessarily believe in the Biblical God anymore, but rather, a Source energy or "The Universe." Basically, I don't know for sure what the truth is, but I know what _doesn't feel right._ Organized religion doesn't sit right with me. Judgment based on adherence to certain politically relevant Bible verses while acting like the rest of the Bible doesn't exist feels unfair. People claiming to know, for sure, that God disapproves of how entire groups of perfectly nice people live their lives doesn't sit right with me. The spiritual encounter you described sounds like it was amazing. I'd love to experience that. The message of Love you received definitely feels true to me. I imagine that's exactly what we would hear God say to us if we could audibly hear God. It's this Knowing that causes me to disbelieve the Bible & all other organized religions that clearly added to God's true message so they could control us and gain wealth & power. I'm so happy that you were able to get out of the toxicity and found what feels right in your soul!

17:47 lifesaving message. I will strongly disagree. You weren't there specifically when I was scrolling KZbin as a distraction from taking the big nap, it was Wally's silly video. Its my opinion that these videos provide a place for ones that have been ripped from everyone, they have ever known, to feel a connection. Granted this cant be the center point of the rest of our lives; however, it will be one of the biggest milestones for most of us. In conclusion, Wally did actually save my life so maybe it is more lifesaving than you think.

The Holy Spirit polygraph didn’t detect it.” And then they realize after listening how utterly stupid they sounded with their shitty illustrations about factory work and jobs and corporations. When my brother was asking me about looking at apostate videos, I told him the honest truth, that I was looking for videos of people talking about why they became JWs, and I couldn't find anything. I would've joined, but I can only find bad reviews lol. (I wasn't gonna join. We just had studies.) You're definitely not alone in having them think you're being deceived. I tried to explain that my views are based on what they teach, not random information that's not backed up. It's not like I confused a scientology video for JW beliefs.

This is something that really bothers me about how my mom thinks about my deconstruction from evangelical Christianity (not JW). She has convinced herself that I never had any real relationship with Jesus and was just paying lipservice to the religion. You know what, i guess the ilustration generaly can be used(the same ilustration, btw) in a both ways. I realize that when i usualy reframe their ilustrations(as you did about "job enterprise's rules', of "the company doesnt have the power of breacking all your social structure") their will of using ilustration fade. If they say "its just a ilustration" the pimo could say "yeah, and i made the same to ilustrate the problem of this concept, that smake this hard to understand as a fair")

It's interesting they bring up noncompete clauses. I've always regarded them as deeply immoral. To tell someone you are not allowed to support yourself using the skills you have acquired because we don't want to have to compete is wring. You're in business, compete. Some States actually ban them and there has been talk about banning them at the federal level. It's not surprising they'd pull out something immoral and harmful as a defense for their immoral bullshit. As you point out no company will try to get their employees to shun a former member. It's so stupid

Is it possible that you're being deceived by apostate material? Sure it's possible. But you're absolutely certain that you have been deceived by the organization! You have a gift of articulating yourself in a way that's both respectful of the other party, while breaking down their faulty analogies and exposing their hypocrisy with surgical precision. But it also highlights the futility of ever talking to the JC for any reason other than for your own personal benefit. Because you will never convince them with reason.

I love all the exjw KZbin channel’s we need them all! I’m only out a few months and we’re all dealing with mental and emotional issues because of this horrific organisation want all of us to be helped and encouraged. So glad I found all these channels all greatly helping. ❤
