@@mrm8850 what makes you think this is something that we’d encounter as a couple? Seems a bit extreme, but I can’t expect much more from a JW, or any evangelical Christian. To have a stable and realistic view of the world around you is so far out of your reach. But thank you for your unsolicited concern! I think Jake and I will be just fine with what we’re doing 😎

Tony’s has definitely wanted to tell a woman who had the guts to express that he didn’t understand her, that “oh yes you will do what I say honey”. That’s how he fantasizes during his meditation time and it shows.

Notice it wasn't his home and he was not the host. But he did not respect that and instead "put his mouth on"? He also said that he "started" to ask about Fred Franz's talk. Then he changed it to " Do you mind? I just asked him a question".

My father was an elder, he and the other elders were just a bunch of gossipers when they got together. They would talk about all sorts of confidential stuff amongst each other. They thought it was ok because they didn’t use names. They could tell the stories because they were not using specific names it was ok to gossip. It was just a huge power trip.

Something I’ve noticed after watching alot of Tony’s mumblings n talks. He really thinks high n’ mightily about himself and LOVES THROWING SHADE on folks, especially ones that don’t bow to his opinions ! ! In one talk he was even expressing some veiled threats against some brothers who “hadn’t treated him so well.” So loving, so Christlike … 😳

makes me wonder if this was what caused his demise, he was clearly drunk and his description of the way he treated a gilead graduate because she was female would not sit right with the organisation that is struggling to stay current.

I wonder if his rant about about the woman that wouldn't stop talking was a possible reason for him being kicked off the island. That's not the first time he's done that to a woman. There is probably tons of shit that he's said and done that called for his removal. He deserves everything that's coming to him.

I actually asked an elder the other week why they feel the need to have a three degree initiation in the back of the organized to do Jehovah's will book, if they base their Faith on 1st century Christianity. As, initiations didn't come into Christianity until the 3rd century. The elder agreed that there is an initiation process and agreed that it was 3rd century, but avoided really answering my question as to why they feel like this has to be applied in a separate religious organisation, separate from the mainstream Christianity.

Just pointing out that asexual people exist. Asexuality is a sexual orientation like any other, and the vast majority of us want nothing to do with incels or mgtows. I'm a religious trauma survivor myself (specifically extreme hardline Catholicism), and no, my asexuality isn't the result of that. Rather, it was the other way around. I am a romantic asexual, so I naturally desire non-sexual romantic relationships. I was told by the Church that it was sinful to remain in a relationship that doesn't have the goal of consummated marriage, so I thought I was inherently sinful for not wanting to consummate a marriage or have children. I was told the only paths in life for a woman were to become a nun, be single for life, or get married, which would require consummation and openness to pregnancy. So I was terrified of ever falling in love, because it could only end with heartbreak or being forced into sex I didn't want. But I was also afraid of being alone forever. I thought the fact that I didn't fit into the Church's prescribed paths made me evil and I hated myself for that and thought I was broken. Some people think it would be easy to be asexual in Christianity, but that's not the case. As soon as you become unwilling to marry and have children, people start to say nasty things

Paul too maybe? He certainly seemed unable to understand people's 'desires burning in them' so better get married, but prefer if people didn't. As someone in 40s now recognising my asexuality as why I had no comprehension of what my peers were dealing with in our teens with attractions and hormone, and never got how people paired off, I think Paul's writings could be read similarly.
