I've been wondering why all these people complaining about the suburbs, so I decided to see what they're complaining about & compare it to the area I grew up in.

European guy living in a small city here. I enjoy that everything is close by. I like that I can just walk to everything I need. Some of my friends don't live here. They live in surrounding villages but I can usually get there by bus or train. I would enjoy it if there were more buses around. I hate that they rely on a car cuz cars just aren't enjoyable. I was watching this video outside but the noise was just worsening the experience. I feel like I would go outside more often if it wasn't so loud. Anyway I hope everyone who's reading this is enjoying some time wherever you live

Now look at it from a wellness perspective! On my channel, I have many playlists under the 8 Wellness principles. If you look under Environmental Wellness there is a playlist called Our Community NA / SA... Theres lots of different perspectives from different creators. I'll also include this one, I love all the perspectives! Edit: I especially like how you changed your tone and perspective by the end of the video, it's amazing how just talking to yourself and a camera can change everything.

You can be miserable in nice neighborhoods because material goods doesn't mean happiness. Having other than you can love friends family partners are what make people truly happy. Exercise helps a lot towards happiness too and helps build confidence. I don't live in suburbs I live off a main road when the sugar cane trucks drive by the house in the winter the shakes like earthquake started. They zooming like 80 down a 55. My childhood was kinda rough not cause of where I grow up. Dad passed at a young age. I always have my twin tho we would play outside sword fighting with sticks or sometime wooden swords made by our family. (a lot of my family did construction related jobs. So making stuff like that was easy for them) I am just rambling.

Shops don't exist in suburbs in North America because almost everywhere there is single family zoning and it is illegal to open shops there

YO! The zoning in the suburbs is the WORST!! 😂 They’ll build a school on top of a graveyard.

0:47 this applies to me but only because I spent the majority of my life living in the city (Brooklyn which is always active) so its very different with the quietness and no activity of the suburbs. but honestly they just have to get out more and go to other places if they need community and vibes.

Burb boy here, grew up in an area with a lot of Vietnamese migrants and the restaurants are amazing. There's a couple skate parks too but I never got into that (regretfully). Only downside is there are no music venues.

I guess it’s nice for raising kids there but once you hit 18, you should definitely leave and explore the world. I live in a city of 1.5 million people and it’s fucking exhausting but it’s easier to meet new people. I have a much bigger dating pool. If I was married and had kids I’d probably move 30 minutes out of the city, but I would never move into the suburbs that are hours away from a bigger city. I also don’t understand how people even find friends or partners in the suburbs to be honest cause there’s no one there 😭

You’re definitely right. Once you hit 18 it’s time to leave. Idk what it is, but all the adults in the suburbs isolate themselves hardcore, and it’s like they forget how to relax or have fun. It’s like they spend too much time on Twitter or something.

I think there is something to be said about the mental impacts of living in the suburbs because it’s great for some but for others it literally drives them insane. As someone that grew up there, I never understood why. In school, a lot of my peers felt they needed “an escape.” Whole time I was just trying to figure out what the heII they were running from.

Imagine an entire group of houses/people near each other and NO ONE cares about each other. Everyone's either online or busy working. It feels so dead.

@@norwa3518 For adults, definitely. To this day, I still don’t understand why adults in the suburbs just accept isolation as a part of their lifestyle. I’m thinking it has to be our poIitical climate or something. Things weren’t always this way.
