Hey man I guess you didn't know but the speed buff for charged attacks seems to be a buff that last for a few seconds after your last several hits. Meaning, if you're smooth with it, you can keep speed charges going almost indefinitely. At least that's what it seemed like with the characters I was playing

They reaaaally need to diversify, cuz frankly every character besides android and giants play the same. Let blast characters use blasts in combos/nerf blasts for every other character, make speed characters z burst dash cost less, give strength characters more super armor/ability to break super armor. Sword characters should have an unblockable rush move that’s balanced in some way.

Plus dabura has a pretty long range unblockable special that no one knows about because they all try to block it. It does like a bar of damage too

3:23 the older BT games had this "momentum" mechanic where the more melee attacks you do in a combo, the faster you charge your smashes/rushes. the effect lasts for a set period of time and slowly decrease when you're not actually throwing hands. thats why your rushes take less time to charge even though it was pretty early in the combo. it's not a "one time" effect in a combo

The devs really screwed over Speed characters. It's no wonder you felt like Tapion's damage was lacking, as he gets a severe penalty to his base damage as a Speed character, something around 20~25% to be more exact. And guess what? Every single Speed character gets this exact penality to their damage. No exceptions. You know what they also get? An overall 10% penalty to melee defense. So not only they do hit like a wet noodle, but also have the durability of one. Power characters, on the other hand, receive bonuses to both melee damage and defense (10% to 15%), with pretty minor penalties to smash ki blast charge speed and ki cost. For short, they have no drawbacks, basically.

They definitely need the 25% damage reduction because having 8 dashes for 1 Ki is extremely OP in this game. I think they should give speed characters a 50% damage and defense reduction to balance the meta. Tapion is steam rolling 10 DP characters.

One thing about the Kii wave or whatever it’s called ithink the best way to use it it with his own follower up and after that you pop a super kii to rush chain it’s not that good because some hits doesent connect and this can mess you up and you will get punished maybe he will block the kii wave follow up but then you are just in neutral and most time they will not punish you because they Reaktion time is to fast for them Sorry for my bad English hopefully it’s understandable

This video shows speed archetype characters need a buff imo, they just have too many negative stat modifiers to be on par with everyone else. Movement is important, but its not nearly so important that characters like Tapion deserve to be wet noodles. The moment a power character closes the distance it's joever, when you need to put in way more effort for less results. Good video though, fun gameplay and commentary as always Totally agree about vanishing being harder. I've noticed my opponents are vanishing less as well. Before the patch, in order to vanish something I had to vanish it well in advance of when it looked like I should. Its different now, but I don't have a grasp for it at all

Tapion's ultimate deals more damage to giants and also has a different animation for them, but it's impossible to charge ki because he's so fragile. Maybe he's still worth using to zone with the Ki blasts, but Trunks simply does it better and can go SSJ. So I gave up on Tapion. His combo animations are quite unique, but it feels like you're doing no damage at all, which is frustrating.

Brave slash I typically throw out at random during a combo or if they’re guarding everything I throw at them really well I’ll use Brave slash because they’re likely to eat the whole thing and I can go back on the offensive right after

the only thing i could think of as to why the charge attack @3:28 was faster on the left was because you were on the ground,it'll take some more thourough testing as we all know it could just be a glitch causing inconsistencies but so far the only small piece of evidence i have that might support this is after the last update Super level CPUs instead of z burst dashing any more they all regular dragon dash straight to the ground before performing most actions,this is woth no items,no modifier aside from the difficulty

Day 1 of asking to play Goten As a sidenote. How viable it is to fuse characters mid-match? Does it have any advantage over picking a fusion character directly?

It’s viable. If you play with capsules on, the fusion will get all the capsules of both characters. I believe they also have higher stats if fused mid match as opposed to starting the match already fused. You do lose a character in the process, but if you get good mileage out of both of them prior to fusing it can be a great boost midway through the match. The biggest downside being if you lose one prior to fusing you lose the fusion. If you really just want to play the fusion, it is certainly easier to start that way.

I had a small stint of using Tapion. I generally did very well with him against Z rankers, but it was either I absolutely shredded my opponent, or I get blasted to red health quickly. He has interesting combos but as a 4 DP it’s simply not worth it.

Idk about anyone else, but this update is literally UNPLAYABLE for me. Side steps don't work, character just stands there, follow up vanishes after a smash no longer work no matter my timing, Z counters and vanish wars don't work anymore regardless of my timing, combos randomly dropping, game giving me charged smash attacks when I simply tap square, super perception on normal hits, z burst dashing not working and character only dashes in a straight line. They absolutely dropped the ball on this update and it shows. Clearly.

Pretty dissapointed tbh, but yeah, it's exactly what I felt when playing him: Deals 0 dmg. I'm never going to play the zoning game, so I guess I'll still play on hard mode because this character is so damn comfortable for me to play and I like him so much that I'm never going to leave him xd PS: Your vanishing, I'm sorry but it seems to be just you getting used to the new speed. The first and second vanishes are faster than they used to be too, and in this particular video you can hear how you're pressing the button a liiiiiittle bit late. I'm sure you'll get it working again though, it's mostly about completely forgetting your old muscle memory.
