It's obvious that Anand wasn't going through any lines. He was sending Smyrin a message: we've been lollygagging and toying around for a few games, but you're nowhere near my level. And I'm going to show you. Proof? Once he starts playing, Anand is a ROCKET and annihilates Smyrin with rapid moves, sacrifices, vicious attacks, and vise-like positions.
