I've been following your chosen games for a long time, throughout your excellent classes, in which I enjoy the game itself but also the accurate analysis you print on them, so that learning is guaranteed. (I told you once & you gently answered me). On this occasion the class is even more Masterful, since Anatoly Karpov is indisputable figure of the 20th century for his positional games, although my sympathies were for Viktor Korchnoi (for "other" reasons). I thank you most sincerely, master Sam Copeland. P.D.: I even add, as a tip, that my English language also improves thanks to your clear diction.- By the way, always wanted to ask you, off the record, if your last name is related to the one "Copland". On account to the illustrious American composer Aaron Copland. Muchas gracias, seguiré muy atentamente sus trabajos.

I agree with many of the comments: you are a great commentator! I know comparations are hateful but you IMHO are in some aspects an improved agadmator, just different styles and both of you are fantastic. Congratulations!

I learned a lot from this video, thank you--and now I can follow you as well. Sam, what is the source for Karpov's analysis of the game that you quote?

Good day to you Mr. Copeland: in these days I've been around (studying, enjoying) the figure of the russian GM Valeri Borisovich Sálov. I'd like you to know what's your point about him, & if there's a particular game you could show us. Thank you sir.

This is exactly why I hate having an isolated pawn

I'm wondering after Bxe7 Nxe7 why didn't white simply play d5 straight away? He seems to get rid of the isolated pawn

botvinnik was very wrong. karpov is not only a diplomat for chess, he is in the top five of greatest players ever.
@ivantheterrible43173 жыл бұрын
Karpov is much more than top 5 ever. He is overall the best middlegame/endgame player in the history of chess!
