This is an interesting topic that deserves another video. A video about the value of storytelling: What I mean is the oral tradition. Since the 1900's this has vastly declined. And this is a BIG problem. Traditions that lasted hundreds of years were lost to industry and the internet that removed locality from the equation. People build wherever they want now. Take Andalucía for example. Nice place to live? Not really. It has a brutal history of Tsunamis. Basically, you have a lovely curved coastline that runs down from Huelva and ends abruptly at Sanlucar. Anything that happens out in the Atlantic happily runs down that coast and slams into it. Have a closer look at a DEM from down there. How it has survived for the past 1000 years is beyond me. Only about 6-9 people died there in 1755... That we know of. Pot luck I guess. But here's the thing. Before 1956, Nobody - And I mean NOBODY was mad enough to build on the dunes. Apart from the military (They had to due to Barbary pirates. Hint: It did not work out well.) And some crazy fishermen. This was because it was traditionally forbidden. Then Franco came along in his infinite wisdom and arrogance and slapped a city (Matalascanas) there. Between them, there are about 250,000 people living there now. I collaborated with one of the chief archaeologists in Spain and he was well shook. We did not know the true magnitude of what could go wrong there. I still think of them every few days. And I hope to God he has been somewhat successful at getting this point across. Then across the pond in America, you have Florida. Average height... 6 feet. Well... Too late now. Almost everyone (The Natives) were wiped out by settlers or disease. No more stories from them... For all of our time on this planet it has been a steadfast rock. A directional clue to our history. It deserves a video. A story of how we SHOULD tell stories.

Can I just point out that the oft-quoted meme, that "warmer air can hold more water", was debunked over 200 years ago by the well-known polymath, statesman and climate denier, Benjamin Franklin. It is really about a comet breaking up and forming the Taurid Stream which bombarded Earth 12,900 years ago and other times as many cultures testify that there were numerous Ages of Man. It was a worldwide show from space and many place its origin as the Pleiades which is where the stream appears to come from to this day.

The stories of great flood(s) from the Mayans to the Chinese is strong evidence that they did happen. But it's also very strong evidence that all of life was not destroyed. Obviously, someone survived to write those stories. Remembering that in those ancient days the "whole world" consisted of your valley and maybe a few others within a few days ride on a donkey or camel. Also, keep in mind that very few people could read or write so the stories were passed down verbally. They were undoubtedly greatly exaggerated. So, Noah was most likely a farmer with a boat who went around rescuing goats, chickens, pigs and other farm animals, probably dogs and cats too. That became - he saved all the animals in the whole world.

Ppl discount Bible stories because they have to confront morals. It’s not just arbitrary flood stories there are themes across all myth stories. But tbh the flood wouldn’t have to have been that big, as the Bible would explain the human population to be more localized as a whole during the time. The Genesis account found in the Dead Sea Scrolls was also well known to copied down from much earlier accounts. And while you state that the Gilgamesh account is believed to be much older, THAT is strictly according to who you listen to. It is also well known that many believe the Genesis account to be from much earlier. The worldwide accounts have too much in common to be mere localized myths unrelated to each other. For instance, the Mandan Indians of the upper Missouri River near present day Bismark North Dakota had a flood account with not only a boat, a man's family and many animals aboard to be saved, but even a crow being released near the end of the flood for purposes of seeing if any dry land had appeared. The EXACT same bird released by Noah, for the EXACT SAME REASON! These are statistically way beyond the probability of mere chance. They all came the from the same original account- the actual flood survivors that these people are descended from worldwide.

Sumeria had the first writing. But oral traditions had existed for mellenia. They were simply the first to print an ark myth. Also I had a hypothesis that perhaps there were more than just one ark. Mt. Everest was under water for about a hundred and fifty million years before the Indian plate slammed into the Eurasian plate. The sea floor was then thrusted up and is now the Himalayas. Because the global actually happened and after the flood, Noah and his family told their children’s children and so on and they all met up at Babel for which God told them to spread out over the whole earth but they rebelled. God then gave them different languages for which they would then spread out over the whole earth taking their knowledge with them “including the global flood” for which they obviously had their own stories of it based on their cultural context and they also had the knowledge of animal sacrifices for sin, giants and many other things they all had knowledge of before they dispersed.
