It's nice to see this back. I've always thought the ST animated series was highly under-appreciated.

The voicings of all the characters are really well done. Everything about the story and appearance of the animation makes it an absolute treat to watch.

that reminds me sitting in a meeting with a load of managers, and speculating half an hour about something we barely understand, then someone says "lets ask chief engineer X!" and immediately call a single person as a group of 10, and get the answer "I don't know right now, how should I" and then lets decide to not do that again because of the embarrasment

The TAS stories are incredibly underrated, but having grown up on the superb animation of Chuck Jones and Tex Avery, watching the show is cringe-worthy. But it makes an excellent "radio drama".

Sulu's voice and Scotty's voice are pretty good but the rest are not great but still a good video.

It's kinda awe inspiring how far technology has come in the last 50 years. A project like this could then only be accomplished by a handful of individuals. Now, just about anyone with a computer and some basic animation skills can do better than the original.

Don't forget that one also needs the ability to write, draw, design, do layouts and do storyboarding - none of which are trivial skills. Just sayin'

Surely there are better voice actors around who can do the script and animation justice? They almost spoilt it for me, but all they need to do is put some feeling in their voices.

I wonder why they dont colour their eyballs white?
@CHDanhauser11 ай бұрын
This was done in the style of Filmation of 1973-75 which didn't white their eyes. They began doing that in 1977.

The stories are pretty good but the voices are not. They are not clear. From the comments of many others I am not the only one who thinks the voices need much improvement. They are unclear and sound muffled and blocked.

As long as you are re-creating this, why not correct a bad decision due to budgeting when the animated series was originally made and add Mr. Chekov back into the crew?
@CHDanhauser4 жыл бұрын
It was an extra effort that I chose not to undertake back in 2009 when I created this first animated tale. However, he does appear, at least the Mirror universe Chekov appears, in three of my Logic Lessons videos that can be found on my channel.

@jasontoddman72658 жыл бұрын
What do you want for nothing, dude? Almost all the voices were done by the same person; who incidentally did virtually all he work in making this video? Think you could do better? Go ahead and try, but don't diss the efforts that were put into making this story in the meantime.
@cinewillp63918 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the wake up call I thought I was watching a real episode of TAS'! , as I was not a rabid fan when they aired back in the daze. Calling it as I see it , JT. Its a flat performance. -Just like certain Trek Fan FIlms- certain people shouldn't act!- (or suffer eternal criticism) SInce he sourced the whole project -kudos, its not easy.
@cinewillp63918 жыл бұрын
BTW I will consider doing an TAS episode but i will do only the voices people tell me sound right!
@jasontoddman72658 жыл бұрын
Good luck with that. Sincerely. If only so you'll know how it feels to have someone else rip *your* project after putting your heart and soul into it. I never attempted anything as ambitious as this, but i do know what it is like to create something major (in my case a several-hundred-page Jonny Quest webcomic i once had published online) and have people pick *it* apart.
