Dave, sure looks like NymoLabs has it right. Those appear to be nice capable machines. A nice addition to any shop. Thanks for the information and demonstration.

Thanks Paul. I honestly believe these Nymolabs machines are the best value under 2k. You can get one of these without breaking the bank and you're ready to start running projects right away without having to upgrade anything. You don't even need a computer connected to it.

Wow you know Dave likes a machine when he builds an enclosure for it.

i have had the 6040 for about 5 months now and very much enjoy it. spent the 1st few months learning the machine and doing wood, plastic, etc. for the last month or so, been exploring soft metal milling - brass, bronze and aluminum. with the right tool and right settings, it really does a great job. very happy with the machine. glad to see a yt-er showing off some of the capabilities of these machines.

@@DaveGatton looking forward to watching! btw, i actually purchased the water-cooled 1.5kW spindle but haven't felt the need to install it yet. Maybe at some point, but really, reinforcing the base helped a ton. To do that I just put it on a 2" butcher block base (48x30) and what a difference.

Great review,Dave. The 6040 seems more heavy duty than the 5040. If I remember right, the table size for both are the same. Am I right? Do the 6040 come with a Spindle or a Router? Love your reviews!

Thanks for watching Dennis. The NBS-6040 is a little bit bigger than NBX-5040 (NBS-6040 is 600 x 400, NBX-5040 is 500 x 400). There are a few other differences that I'll cover in a future video, but both machines are great.

i have milled 6061 al, brass and Si-bronze with it. once i got the speeds and feeds correct and bought a good tool, i've had no issues. clearing chips while milling metal is very important, and something not mentioned too much, as stable a base as you can manage! i learned both of those things the hard way.
