I've had one of these for years and I love it. One note about the greaseless balls is that you'll want to make sure you have a good ground at your trailer connector on the truck and then through the wiring to the trailer. The greaseless balls don't help ground the truck and trailer together like a regular steel ball does.

I was trying to switch the ball I didn’t know you had to remove it with a screw

Thank you so much for the this video. Well done. The new Rapid Hitch lock upgrades make total sense. Your ball mount anti-theft idea in a previous video was really great. I had a cheap steel ball mount stolen in a parking lot at a store a while back. I will be keeping my Rapid Hitch in the truck bed when not in use. I have a new truck on order, and while I am waiting to take delivery, I am researching aftermarket towing equipment. I too was initially impressed by the video of the glitzy innovative DT ball mount you didn't like. Expecting a round key to implement a cam action to lock pins into place.... Nope. My & I brother live in Minnesota where the winters are infamously harsh. MNDOT lays down all sorts of chemicals on the roads to combat ice. My brother wanted to remove the steel ball mount from his Silverado after being in the receiver for 2 years and I tried to pull it out with my full size '92 Blazer using a logging chain. I just dragged hit truck backwards. It actually took slack in the chain to "snap" the ball mount out of the receiver. Thanks for saving me $$$

bhanzo Thanks for taking the time to post your great feedback, I used to travel to MN all the time and I have to agree your winters are legendary. Sorry about the trouble your brother had. I think you'll love the Andersen hitches, great products and great people working there.

Do the clunk or rattle when towing? Thanks!
@AutoDIY8 жыл бұрын
+BigRandyR It rattles a bit without a trailer, but when towing, no rattling at all. There is an occasional clunk when accelerating quickly or braking suddenly, but that may be my trailer brakes releasing and applying. This is by far the best adjustable hitch I have tried.

both new and old locks are junk. picking is not the problem, a steel pipe or jack handle is the issue. the pos locks snap off instantly from the shaft. literally 3 seconds and they are off. i have taken off hundreds this way (i work at a car dealership) i run a DT hitch, has the lock and pin built into the hitch. much better design but has other flaws lock mech wise

why do you need to grease the ball I never did or will
