Imagine Gary had dedicated himself to darts the way Taylor did. Imo he would have at least 5 or 6 world championships maybe more but admits himself he doesn't practice the way he should. When he is on I really don't think there is a better player. Gary and mvg are both the 2 best in the world imo but Peter Wright is right up there now too tbf. The last couple of years he has really came on so maybe say the top 3. I like price at times but doesn't seem to be as consistent as these guys when they are really focused. 2015 and 2016 gary really was unaplyabe at times. Like mvg in 2017 they just have that thing about them and just make it look so easy at times. Absalute legend and proud to say I'm from Musselburgh just along the road from were gary stayed in his younger days. I actually went to school with his middle brother Stuart but unfortunately never met Gary he was a bit older. So glad he turned out to be the player he is. Always will be one of the best to ever do it

I think with gary he wasnt prepared to give up his personal life the way taylor did. Taylor had almost no life as he completely dedicated everything to darts. You see the same with MVG now, he wants to see his family more when he can if it means missing out on practice or the odd tournament

If they all played at their best, how many players could genuinely beat Gary? Taylor, MvG, possibly Lewis? Even now when he's not being a miserable tit he can still put up some bloody good averages. Been really unlucky in the big tournaments so far this year. Averaged 111 and went 60% on doubles against Cross at the Masters, gets beat 10-6 because Rob decided to average 112 and go 77% on doubles. Averages 102 against Gurney, gets beat 11-4 because Daryl averaged 104 and went 69% on the doubles. Surely there's a run coming soon. Maybe not the Grand Prix or the European Championship, Grand Slam or PC Finals? We know he likes to save his best for Ally Pally mind...

You comment on a video from the semi-finals of the Darts World Championship... probably one of the best matches ever for Gary, certainly entertaining compared to a lot of matches out there. I can understand ‘01 being repetitive... but it is way more competitive than cricket in my opinion. Also, the first player in cricket has a huge advantage compared to playing a leg of 501 for example. It’a certainly more enjoyable to play cricket with some friends for example but for the world championship of darts, come on lol.
