I will never be able to say how angry I am at the Catholic Church. I know it’s screwed a lot of us up, but as l sit here and watch the deposition, (I’ve watched this many of them as I could, ) …priests lie without flinching, it makes me want to throw up. My whole life I have felt guilty for tiny things, and right now I feel like I never want to see a priest again. I get sick when I see the garb, the robes, the beads, the archbishops with their rings and headwear , the Cardinals, and on and on. We were brought up in the Catholic school system, we were told that we could never doubt our faith... if we did it was a mortal sin. That alone screwed me up. We thought that the priest/bishop was as close to God as you could get. Now I’m wondering what God is thinking, this whole thing is so sickening. None of the priests can remember things, but I have a feeling that the survivors remember everything.Imagine that!

I'm so sorry for your experiences. 😔 I'm not Catholic, but I was abused by a close trusted person as a child. It ruined a part of me and my parents may as well have reacted like I said "the bread is moldy" when I finally disclosed it. I, too, have watched as many of these types of depos/trials as I can. My husband doesn't understand why I would willingly choose to watch something like this. I definitely don't have an answer to that! It's as though I want to look at someone and see if I see that same... something. A look or an understanding of what they've done. I have yet to find it.

I’ve been come to by both Jesus and the Holy Spirit and I never was asleep and was told to not enter the other side of my door way which lead to the hall way there was evil presense there and it was dark ! This event has happened but I know my words here is of no use because it only happened to me I am still in dark times but it is my faith in the lord that keeps me it is all I have always had because I have nothing left for me here in this world I’ve been shunned away by family and friends it won’t change me who I know I am I love them all and for that all is forgiven in the end and begining it’s always good to believe in somthing as long as you know it is good like believing in yourself which is a great start !

After watching at least a few of these depositions find the body language is very interesting and wonder if these videos are now used to teach law officials, officers or others involved with apprehending criminals what to look for. On the flip side..I wonder if the church officials now show these as examples of what NOT to do when confronted. It's now 2019 but i'm just NOW able to watch this using a computer and I know I should be out cutting the weeds, chopping wood for winter, cleaning the house, fixing the hen house and shop..but here I sit..fascinated by these videos. I hate the majority of priests because of this. They were all afraid gay young men that thought going into this field will allow them access to young kids both boys and girls, so they can abuse them to fulfill their sick fantasy. Watch Jerome Kern depo and he plays stupid, old and confused (disgusting). I so want much to kill these men, and stop calling them father. I'm in Richmond Hill, Ont and there is a place 1/2 an hour from me that hides these men under the Subject of Addiction and Mental Health Services.

i was an alter boy too for a short time. from a young age i disagreed that celibacy in priesthood is wrong. i think, and not sure but the catholic church becomes a mate much like your wife. i was never abused and i feel for those who were.

billy smith It's just tradition, not dogma, so the pope can decide to change it. They remain unmarried because they believe it lets them more faithfully focus completely on the church & emulate Jesus. There's nothing that prohibits priests from being married, so there are Catholic priests who are married because they come from being a former Protestant minister. The celibacy part is supposed to be a sign that the priest's consecration to the Lord is with an undivided heart, where they give themselves entirely to God.

He did not personally commit these acts, he only gave the benefit of doubt. Many, as witnessed by the comments, are attacking the church, their wagons are circled and rightfully so. The police want a victim and perpetrator, he is defending himself and his institution. I would do the same. I would only give enough cooperation my lawyer advises. Talking to the police? I don’t think so. I respect law enforcement but at the same time I would not give them ammunition to incriminate me.
