I do this with my outback all the time on this terrain and it works great, even if it is a 1998. Thanks for the video.

This is a very good demo of the outback

In the driver's defense, Korea is filled with mountains and not all drivers will have room/time to prepare to drive on such roads. For example, my father had to drive his Audi A7 Prest. to a dirt road whenever we went to pay tribute to our ancestors. It wasn't as bad as the path in the video but I've seen those sort of paths leading to people's graves. Thank god the road is paved now. It just shows that the car can do that even when the driver doesn't really know how to offroad. And I think that's good enough tbh.

Im pretty impressed.

Obviously no locking diffs, but if the driver puts a left toe on the break that left front tire doesn't spin, and other tires easily get traction. Out backs are quite capable on this type of terrain.

thanks for the great vid, anybody wanna try this with the 2014 forester with x mode engaged ?
@spankybrandonf10 жыл бұрын
just a hint, when the tire spins, lightly apply your left foot to brake pedal while applying gas with right, it will engage the other tires instead of just the one spinnning.
@Aashishkebab5 жыл бұрын
The car does that automatically

Not the best driver. Not that you have use a lot, but you have to stay on the throttle even when the wheels slip and the awd system will work it out.
@mladenka196810 жыл бұрын
Throttle...lol...you're right.

George Armerding I toldly agree

Is the awd working it seems to get alot of wheelspin
@OzBloke11 жыл бұрын
Drop the tyre pressure 5 - 10 lbs and it will walk that!

Nice idea. but needs to be in 720HD as a wee bit blurry !!!

Click that magical button by the parking brake to turn off vdc. This will help you get better traction. I do it all the time in the winter

Great video! Is this with Xmode on? Or just standard mode?
@Aashishkebab3 жыл бұрын
X-mode doesn't exist on this year model

I am either going with the 2014 Forester or Outback, I love the additional towing capacity in the Outback, but I want the X mode that is only available on the Forester....Either way it will be a Subi.. I would not consider another brand ...

1:14 the front wheel spinning too darn much. I'm waiting for the rear tires to kick in.
@Aashishkebab5 жыл бұрын
The rear right wheel was also off the ground

Sometimes i see these things going through a lot of stuff. Then i see it where you have ro get speed tobgobover something and not all wheels have power. Whats with that?
@TheKde2527 күн бұрын
Doesn't have locking diffs, so the wheel with the least resistance just spins.

Pretty dangerous that the car is so bad protected underneath. Often ends up on the expensive side in these conditions.

i can tell you the new rav4 and highlander would have done this...so sad because i love toyota`s

+2010V6RAV4 I meant wouldn't have been able to do what the Subaru did

2010V6RAV4 i`ll check out your videos..reason i was saddened is because i watched rav4 off road review from "engineering explained" and "the fast lane car" and i was disappointed in what i saw....i have a 2002 rav4 but have only had it in the grass and snow and of course i love the car but wondered what the rav4 was like off road
@DariusAsignado11 жыл бұрын
you would be crazy enough to drive an Outback in that environment. even if it is all that capable. that's why Subaru produced the Forester.
@Aashishkebab5 жыл бұрын
? The ground clearance is the same.

nah you're just a pussy. how is the forester any different??? lolol

By the way he was driving, the Outback was auto. Gotta go 5- or 6-speed manual.
