Seriously lads, this might be my favourite amp review/demo video on the whole of youtubes. 1) Demonstrates capabilities, both in volume and drive settings with a very varied amount of styles 2) Explains purpose and usecases 3) Lapel demo gives a very good indication of volume 4) Excellent banter 5) Excellent guitar playing Well done!

Just a suggestion, it would be nice to see a decibel meter on amp demos (and really even guitar demos). It's so hard to get an understanding of the output being used to get the sounds you do in these demos. Through editing and the like, the overall volume is going to be similar between a 100 watt Marshall through a 4x12 as it is through this little Katana on a KZbin video (which is expected). Maybe even a meter on the side with the exact number and then a graphic that shows where it would be in terms of a "live" stage sound. As a matter of fact, it would be interesting to see you demo at different volumes so you can actually get a better understanding of the amps themselves. Obviously, this is more for a tube amp than a small practice solid state or digital. I've found that I'll see a demo of an amp that sounds great, but in the "store" where you aren't able to crank it up is can sound just plain bad at the lower volumes. Most amps sound better in their sweet spot, which I'm sure Danish Pete and Bea and others are spending a lot of time finding. Another suggestion, which may not really be possible, is to add a demo section where you actually play a small jam with a full band (at least adding drums and bass). A good guitar tone in a bedroom isn't the same as a good guitar tone with a band.
@JohnOhkumaThiel3 жыл бұрын
Holy Hendrix! I ordered this thing yesterday because it seems like exactly what I want-a non-toy mini amp I can take with me when I play / practice outside instead of my current highly unsatisfactory and almost unwieldy outdoor rig that kinda sucks-I’m waiting for delivery today, but wanted to check out some demos and reviews anyway. Beginning of the video, I thought you were just doing an intro, then realized both of you are playing out of this thing, and it sounds terrific. Only two years a guitarist I have a 15 watt Marshall for indoors, and an iRig Nano for outdoors. As I’m upgrading my gear, this might replace both of those and I’ll get a 50 watt or greater amp. Also ordered the Tube Screamer and am building my first pedal board, so it’s going to be a great day.

You'll find a lot of pros will be attracted to this as it sounds good and means they can warm up backstage. They're still advertising to 10 % of all guitar players, but hey, how much difference does a guitar really make? I don't get why people pay hundreds for new pickups which make so little difference to your tone. Just buy one or two good guitars and then a nice amp and Bob's yer uncle.
