Sire are doing loads for us lefthanded players. Been looking out for a decent J style affordable guitar for a while, and you've either got a choice of a Harley Benton or a Fender American Pro for just short of 2k. Nice that theres something middle of the road for us lefties, after Fender has failed us for so long!

I love Sire guitars and currently own three guitars and a bass from that brand. I would have loved to buy them from Andertons, but since I live in France, the costs made a big difference. Let's break it down: the conversion between pounds and euros, along with taxes and shipping, adds up. For example, the new T7 TV is priced at €589 in France (about £496) with free shipping. If I were to purchase it from Andertons, it would cost £529 (€629), plus shipping and import duties/taxes. In 2022, I bought three Tone City pedals from Andertons, including the amazing Durple, for £87 plus £13 shipping and €37 in import taxes, bringing the total to £131 (€155). Except for the Durple (which is exclusive to Andertons), I could have paid just €39 per pedal with free shipping in France. I would love to buy more from Andertons because of the incredible value you bring with your KZbin channel and other social media content. However, I simply can’t justify paying 20-30% more than I would in France. So, my question is: When will you open an Andertons shop in Europe? Cheers from across the Channel

Squier is a little more adventurous with some of their paranormal and baritone offerings. Also wider offering of offset guitars. With that being said I like the Sire guitars.

I like Sire: I have a Sire Jazz bass, but I think they could have pushed the boat out a bit more with this Jazzmaster to include all the switching options of the original. As it is, it's no different to a Harley Benton, and for a little more money they could differentiate themselves from HB.

Yes! Ever since I saw the announcement for the J series a couple months ago, I've been waiting for the reviews to go out. That J5 seems to blow everything else out of the water specs wise for a J type at this price point. Definitely seems to beat anything priced $1000 or less in Fender's range

I have the P5R 5 string bass and it's amazing - pre-ordered the new "acoustic" one. Can't wait for that to show up. Their guitars are fantastic, especially for a cost that brings all of the features at a price Fender can't come close to touching. The old Mexi and Japanese lines were at least a middle of the road option in the past, but the Player series is too expensive for what you get, and the Pro series is astronomical. When companies are dropping guitars with roasted maple, ebony, stainless frets, and quality finishes it's just harder and harder to justify spending more than $500 on a guitar or bass.

I can't deny that the colour of the J5 that Lee was playing is gorgeous, but I don't see it on the website. (Champagne Gold Metallic) Once again, the GAS is real! I agree with you about the reveal binding on the T7TM. I think a cream binding would look nicer, but it still looks pretty good. I suspect having a different process just for that guitar wouldn't be cost effective. It's a pity the T7TV isn't available in See Through Red. I'm not sold on the P90s in that guitar. The neck pickup sounded a little too dark for my liking. P.S. The reveal binding looks great with the See Through Red. Did I mention the See Through Red would be nice on the T7TV?

One thing i have found is that there are all these companies that offer higher specs for cheaper money and try and encourage you to not buy what you actually want, which in this case is a Fender. My experience is that you should buy the real thing because you will regret it if you don't.

Pete is right, the J3 is more appealing than J5 as it has block saddles and a 2 point trem...where as the J5 has clones of the vintage Jazzmaster saddles/bridge which are very problematic. Will take the J3 all day, with the $200 savings between the two just upgrade the pups if not happy.

Stop ripping off Fender. Start making your own designs. There's loads of luthiers out there making guitars with different shapes and designs. Sire makes quality stuff, and it's time to be a big boy company that doesn't just ride the popularity of Fender's models and Fender's years of work.
