I bought one, here's what I learned. It gets that beautiful sound with ease and the quality of the sound is first rate, but there are some drawbacks. It could be difficult to use live because (1) there is no volume knob and (2) there are no individual volume adjustments for the different presets. So it will be difficult to match the volume going from one preset to the next and it will be challenging to match the volume to other pedals. Also, there is no on/off switch. Not a deal breaker but can be annoying. Only eight presets are available without some sort of external triggering device. There are 32 presets total, but the manual is vague about how to access the other 24. In one place it says there are three ways to do it, somewhere else I read there are two. When you go to the help menu it says there is only one and that is via midi. The manual is particularly weak. It tells you what can be done with the pedal but is skimpy on saying how to do it. You will need to spend time poking around figuring it out on your own. So far I've been unable to find any operational info on videos. There are, however, a lot of great ones demonstrating the sounds.
@catsnotwar10156 жыл бұрын
The "Blend" and "Intensity" knobs set the volume of the effect and are stored in each preset. Pressing the footswitch for the selected preset (A or B) turns it off, pressing it again turns it back on. All 32 presets can selected using the two footswitches. The are four pages with four banks in each page, two presets per bank. You can set the number of pages to less than four to avoid having to scroll through all of them. If it is set to one page then you only scroll through eight presets.

This pedal needs a dual mono mode: delay to output a, reverb to output b. Delay for the main signal, shimmer reverb through a separate amp. That way, you could use a splitter in front of the Specular Tempus, to add an overdrive to the delay and a volume pedal to the shimmer (both have to be in front of the delay or reverb...)

I’m considering this pedal for the ambient tones the one turn off for me is that it’s a pretty complicated pedal to operate and the spring Reverb doesn’t sound like a spring Reverb at all. I would likely be stacking this with a Collider as well and also have it for other flavors (yeah I know two combo pedals) But man some of the reverbs are so insane on it especially the plate.
@volen17712 жыл бұрын
I really can't decide between the Collider and the Specular Tempus. If you can give me a good observation of both, it would be awesome, it's a really hard choice to make. I really love the ambient sounds of the Tempus but I also want the traditional ones and I'm not sure that I can find them in this one. What do you think of the Collider, does it have at least a part of these spectacular sounds and does it sound as great as the Tempus overall? :D
@Turn0vers2 жыл бұрын
@@volen1771 to be honest I’d get both and stack them

Ok, the presets are all overloaded to show off and sounds like these are somewhat limited to specific types of music. A question you didn't answer in the video: can the pedal also do more simple and normal reverb or delay sounds? Like only a only plate reverb or only a tape delay? Thx for clarifying.
@paulhawksworth15867 жыл бұрын
Have a look on the GFI website. It gives detailed descriptions of the algorithms and their parameters. Yes it does do standard plate reverb, tape delay etc.
