The whole percussion thing hits different as someone from Latin America. Banging pots and pans together is a form of protest, and when everyone does it the sound is so loud it overwhelms the entire city. It’s called a cacerolazo and it’s so clear where the inspiration came from. And yeah… when it goes silent, it’s time for the reckoning.

Hmmm same thing happened in the conflict in Northern Ireland so I assumed that was the inspiration given it's almost all British and Irish actors/production but it goes to show just how many influences there are on the show.

I kind of feel sorry for the inspector at the end. One reactor said he was shocked from the destruction at the end, but...I think it was fear and the realization of how badly he had failed. Not only did he disobey a direct order from a superior, but he failed to get his target, lost a ship, and got most of his team killed. I don't think the corporation will be able to cover that up, and the Imperials will come to find out what happened. If anything, I think this guy realizes that he is going to be killed for this failure.

I'm so enthralled with this show. Watching Luthen and Cassian handle the corporate goons (sorry, I keep forgetting the name of the corporation but I'll eventually remember it) in the showdown, it reminds me of Cassian's remark in Rogue One where he said "Make 10 men feel like a hundred." The line keeps bouncing in my head. He learned all that from Luthen. For me, it's a callback to that phrase and I love it. The music, the writing, the directing, the cinematography - chef's kiss.

Corpo Security > Stormtroopers. Seriously, it's refreshing to see enemy goons not be treated like dumb cannon fodder for once. They were using tactics (having the lone guy keep flanking, pincering their target, setting up an ambush) and keeping in constant comms. If this was most of the other previous works, these guys would be wiped out in the blink of an eye while standing out in the open then suddenly have their ship blow up for some reason. Makes me kind of sympathize with the antagonist inspector as well.

I wasn't even surprised to see Skarsgård nailing his role the way he is. I agree that the actor for Inspector Syril Karn is doing a great job. You can feel his noobishness in regards to field work. He thought he was just gonna go in, serve a warrant, and successfully arrest Andor and close this case. Nope; total shitfest instead. Thing is, this character could have been played as this sniveling imbecile, but the actor really sold the idea that the dude was just really inexperienced. He was totally out of his depths, because his whole career seems to have been about being in the office and going through records and reports. Now he has a bigger mess on his hands than when this all started. Love this show. Can't wait for next week. It's lived up to everything the promos were selling to us.

Even still Andor's only concern for the Box I feel is it's usefulness to perhaps smugglers to evade patrols Or plot courses around blockades, Hence it's high price on the black market. In reality Luden is trying to convince him to think of the bigger picture in how that Box just like Kassa himself could be to used to combat the Empire.

I thought this show was fantastic. The slow build up and pay off of these three episodes was incredible. It gave time to actually care about characters, understand the world etc, without just rushing straight into action we don't care about. The writing, pacing, and acting was all on point. I also feel that the budget was really showing here, it felt well....like the budget went into it. Maybe it's just me, but the last two shows (Obi-Wan and Boba Fett) felt really cheap by comparison. Overall...fantastic. I can't wait for more.

I believe Cassin's back story is all about the Republic posing as Separatists, look at the uninforms of the dead, but the ship is clearly CW Republic. The Republic was as shady as the Separatists and wanted to destroy all evidence of their treachery and blame the Separatist for attacking a Republic ship. However. Maarva and her husband are true Separatists who knew better and the reason she said the Republic would kill him, like they did all the children's parents before. The Republic did not want anyone to know what was mined on that planet and made up this cover story.

I've been watching different channels' reaction to this and came back looking for the ones who mentioned Luthen's whistle for his ship. It was you. 🙃 You see, I don't think the whistle activated the ship at all. It was just a signal for someone or something on the ship to get it ready as he approached. I was hoping it was K2SO, lol! 😄 Because surely, I thought, we'll meet him somewhere in Andor because in Rogue One, he and Cassian were tight, right? And I thought it would be nice to have another droid with us since we likely won't be seeing B2EMO much anymore because we left him with Maarva. 🤪 I also thought maybe it was him talking in the background when Luthen was landing his ship... But I checked episode 2 again and all it said in the caption was Fondor Droid Mod, and there was no credit for the voice in the cast list at the end. I can't actually recognize Alan Tudyk's voice so maybe I was just wishful thinking. 😅
