Dom and Connor, whatever the circustances were which led from THE SHUTTLEPOD SHOW to THE D-CON CHAMBER, you two have a knack for interviewing colleagues wonderfully and also for attracting a loyal audience--even when you AREN'T acting! I missed having you both as a regular part of my life from last December until now, and hope that all is well with both of you because, as we all know, life marches on whether we're having fun along the way or not. Connor: Congratulations to your son upon his high school graduation and congratulations to his proud father as well. Andre is a well-spoken interviewee and you interacted with him especially well, so please do have him return for a 'Part 2' if the opportunity arises. If I learn nothing else from your podcasts--and they offer a great deal--it's how the show business industry works and how actors and others fit into that process. In some respects, it's both wonderful and bizarre that human civilization creates such an industry for what, at the root, is our enjoyment of storytelling, which enriches our imaginations, offers escape from the hardships of our personal lives, and fulfills a need for experiencing adventure which most of us can't engage in personally. As a fellow artist (composer) I understand the importance of art and storytelling but because on some level all of us have the same needs in life--to hopefully survive, do something we love for our profession, to do it well, and to have our efforts be meaningful and satisfying to other people--I also appreciate the solidarity of that. When someone else's art/efforts are meaningful and satisfying to me I try to always say THANK YOU because life is so fleeting and short and also because of my personal belief that we are here, in this location and era, for each other. Thank you, Dom, Connor, and Andre, for contributing to various things that make me and many others experience something meaningful and satisfying from your work, and for giving me/us a needed way to escape from the hardships of life through storytelling and (now) through interviews too. Please have this guest back again. Although I am no where near his equal in education and intelligence, I found a kinship with him in that we both read the same science fiction authors and became acquainted with TOS around the same time. I was also born in 1959 on May 15th. I too felt that I was often bored in high school as was his older brother, but was, and am still an avid reader all of my life. I also feel a kinship with Dom and Conner as I aspired to be an actor too, but gave into my dream to pursue a military career instead. I still did the occasional community theater plays whenever I could. Love the show!

Agree loved this so relatable also a 1959 November 29 & a bad asthmatic read a lot in the day & so easy to relate the life & times as we all travelled the same time periods. I followed my dream into theatre then what I really wanted television at ABC TV in Australia 10 yrs & then freelance onto in 2000s both film. As a designer & even though nothing in my family background would expect me but do this path of a life career. Best of Theo

I got the opportunity to interview Andre about 20 years ago for my blog. We had just an incredible conversation. Years later I was living / working in LA and we hung out at a mutual friend's house. If memory serves, I saw him again a few months later. Besides the fact that Andre is just an incredible brain and a stunningly gifted writer and producer, I remember that he had good taste in cars. He had a beautiful white Porsche at the time. Thanks for putting this interview together. Just another great experience Dom and Connor.

What a great conversation. Andre appears on the extras for several of the DVD sets for the series he worked on but the Voyager DVDs have several extras for each season titles something like real science with Andre. He breaks down some of the science used in that particular season. I can't recall if he gets dedicated segments on the other series DVDs but his Voyager segments are great. Look forward to having him back

Dominic - I gave a harsh but loving comment about a bad trait you and I share - and I have to say, in the year since, the transformation in you is remarkable. It's so hard to remain silent when a conversation excites the mind, and it shows a fantastic strength of character and mature growth that you've done a complete 180 since then. So glad you 2 are back, and without the baggage! My personal thoughts: I don't like guests being censored. I really miss the loose format of the 1st few episodes of TSPS, just actors around a table with a whiskey bottle cutting loose, unfiltered, being real and being themselves. Those episodes with Gary Graham, Jon Fleck, and Jeffrey Combs, so much fun and so hilarious, I hadn't laughed so hard in years! I know opinions were polar, but I prefer Dom as is, unhinged, and unfiltered. That brought a mixed bag for sure, but he got the actors to cut loose, be themselves, and pulled so many golden stories and fun facts out of them that we'd never had gotten otherwise. He's such an interesting person with amazing stories himself. You're awesome just as you are Dom! In fact, the episode where Dom himself was the interviewee was one of my favorites, it was just captivating! That style, obviously, wouldn't work with some actors like Shatner, but it was absolute crazy fun with the others, and I really miss that. As a compromise, would you consider doing a format change back to that for certain episodes, and select guests, like the before mentioned, that maybe prefer that more unhinged, relaxed, and informal setting around the table sipping whiskey, and call it "The D-Con Chamber - After Dark" or something that denotes the unhinged and adult nature of those episodes? I'd really love to see that resurrected on the right occasion. You could as the actors ahead of time: "Do you want the formal or the After Dark show?". Anyway, thanks for bringing the show back and it's good to see you all again!

I see a lot of myself in Mr. Bormanis. I am a huge comic book, science fiction, and Star Trek fan (of course) fan and have written poems and short stories. Some of which have been published in little school anthologies and such. Right now, I'm trying to write comic books. I have a few stories written and am trying to take further steps to get them published into real books. I'm also in school for physics education. I'm going to be a physics teacher! It's amazing how science and writing can collide.

Great episode ❤ as a crew person myself love seeing the behind the scenes people & there story of life ❤ & as Im same age as Andre I'm also born in 1959 & had bad asthma in Adelaide South Australia spent lots time in bed missing lots school & reading heaps! can so relate. I loved sc fi & all.kinds movies some years later theatre fell into that in 81 then somehow got into NIDA 85 -87 move to Sydney do the Design Course & then 89 job ABC tv designing sets costumes the point is follow your dreams believe in yourself & best advice "your only as good as your last job" seriously & my theatre training was the best to have. So 35 yrs later still.. just 😂 in the biz. Congratulations team D-Com🎉

The only thing that kept nagging me was the pronunciation of "nadion". In the show, it was pronounced phonetically as "NAY-dee-on". So to hear "NAH-dee-on" was jarring. I know it's spelled the same way, but pronunciation consistency is the key to understanding and correlation.

I love this show to death, but... I just listened to forty minutes of medical malady talk. Every family member has had heart attacks, taking lipitor, can't have grapefruit, mononucleosis in the third grade, and on and on until I feel sick because jeez we're all old and deal with this stuff it's so depressing to listen to in a droning voice for so long all the while eager to hear science or star trek talk but I feel like I just got hypnotized into hypochondria and now I'm afraid of grapefruit and kissing diseases. Still though, love you guys please disregard my complaining and continue making a great show. Peace and love. Grapefruit.
