Thank you so much for the explanations and your vision. It seems like it was a hard decision. I'm not sure you can rely on Patreon as your only source of revenue. I would totally be fine with some ads placed at reasonable locations in your interviews. Some celebs use Westwood One to connect with advertisers. You should really connect with Michael Rosenbaum and ask him for introductions. He is somehow able to get interviews on his YT channel from everyone he meets at cons. Shuttlepod got Frakes and Gates, but Rosey got Frakes, Gates, and Brent without even being an ST alum. Other sci-fi celebs that have interviewed w/ him: - Katee Sackhoff of Battlestar and Mandalorian has a YT channel, is super nice, candid, and I've seen her do reciprocal interviews with other YT celebs. - Ming-Na Wen who played Fennec Shand on Star Wars. Ming-Na is an actor's actor, has done formal and comprehensive training at Carnegie Mellon, and interviewed with Katee and Rosenbaum. - Jonathan-Rhys Davies also did an interview on Rosenbaum and he played Da Vinci on Voyager multiple times and beautifully. - Rosey has interviewed Paul Wesley who guests as Kirk on Strange New Worlds. - Wil Wheaton has been on Rosey advertising his book. - Doug Jones when Discovery was just starting. - Robert Patrick & Edward Furlong from Terminator - Nathan Fillion of scifi fan fav Firefly and all actors seems to love him; think he's a super nice guy - Jason Isaacs who was on Discovery; I hear he's good friends with Marina so if you get him you might get an intro to Marina, but Terry is also friends with Marina and you already know Terry - Sean Astin Lord of the Rings - Clancy Brown who guest starred on Enterprise during that episode where Trip and Archer are stuck on that dessert Wil is friends w/ Mayim Bialik who also has a YT interview channel and was on Big Bang Theory, a huge scifi and general nerd fan fav. You should also connect with Sean Ferrick of TrekCulture. He's a big fan of Enterprise and I'm sure he would loooove, love, love to interview you 2. TrekCulture has tons more subscribers than Shuttlepod and your appearance there would be a great opportunity to plug D-Con. Additionally, Rosey has a separate channel where he goes through each one of the episodes of Smallville one by one with clips and analyses. They're actually quite insightful and he answers Patreon member questions about the episode at the end of each review. You might be able to do the same for Enterprise being that Trip was in most episodes. Fans like to get insider info on how the episodes were filmed, what it was like working with each guest star, director, sweating on planet hells, etc. Hope that helps!! Good luck to you! I am looking forward to all the wonderful interviews that you will do. I love that you do the research and try to get as much as possible out of the guests while being totally respectful of their boundaries. 😇

What I love so much about this, and other episodes done by Dom and Connor, is the look into the minds of two great actors who continued to pursue their dream of being professional actors. I was studying to be an actor throughout high school. I even attended a summer stock theater apprenticeship after graduation. I wanted to go to college and aspired to a degree in Theater Arts, but decided to do a stint in the military on the advice of my father. He told me "There are more starving actors out there son, than starving soldiers." I gave in and went that way. I can really see that if I had just only tried a bit harder that I may have been one of the lucky ones, as they have been. I clearly see how much I have in common with them in many ways. Two finer actors I have rarely known. Keep up your good work in this new venture.

Dom and Connor-professional working relationships sometimes work out, and sometimes don't. For the fans of ENTERPRISE and of the other STAR TREK franchises, what we most want-to continue to have the two of you as a recurring part of our lives and to look over your shoulders at the world of your show(s) and the people connected with them-WE HAVE BACK AGAIN and it continues on The D-Con Chamber. We're here most of all because you and your podcast guests helped bring something interesting and worthwhile into our lives and, in particular, you two are the faces and voices of two beloved characters in a thrilling storytelling world we have shared with you. The best part of all of this for me personally is getting to know you two and your guests as the persons you really are. To be able to leave comments here which you might actually read is not a 'silly' connection; it's a chance for the kid in all of us to find a way to connect with BOTH you and your characters. It's the same thing as the STORY of Santa coming to life for a five year old who actually gets to sit on a department store Santa's lap and IN PERSON tell them what's on their Christmas gift wish list. Having taken your ENTERPRISE voyages along with you, it's also a way to express our reactions and thoughts about your scripted adventures to someone who HAS to understand them because, though you were in FRONT of the camera, you were 'there' too. And as your audience, we found worth in your characters and because the power of the storytelling is so strong, we want a little bit more of them somehow. I find all the 'machinery' (people, jobs, skills) that go into a show like ENTERPRISE fascinating, but the core connection is-still, after nearly twenty years-to the characters and their stories. We love hearing YOUR recollections, perceptions and perspectives on the characters and those stories because WE WERE THERE WITH YOU TOO. Your perceptions are fundamentally professional; ours are fundamentally those of people to whom the stories were told. Our memories are of the finished product; yours are of creating it. Dom has several times in the past described walking behind the ENTERPRISE Engine Room set and noting that the engine energy flux radiation was a well-placed disco light! Of COURSE it was! But in the STORY it was a bonafide manifestation of a warp-coil powerhouse. We KNOW we were deceived by your set designers, but we were SO WELL deceived that THE STORY came alive and took us 'there' with it. People want and need stories because they remove us from the mundane to give us an adventure in the ideal. Why do we want and need the ideal? I personally think it's because otherwise the hardships and horrors of this life would otherwise be unbearable, and because (in my Christian worldview) we were created for an ideal existence that has been compromised, tarnished, and spoiled enough that we can't not notice. Art bridges the mundane-ideal gap for us to help make life more bearable and to restore to us pieces of something we're otherwise missing and which our souls intuitively long for and still seek. Money serves the mundane, and that's necessary; but love, beauty, adventure, nobility, loyalty, courage, pathos, humor, drama-these expose, and remind us of and immerse us in, the ideal of the human condition. Thank you for letting us kids of all ages who love your show/work sit on Santa's lap again via The D-Con Chamber. Love you guys! Thanks for keeping our two-way connection going.

As a Patreon member for the Shuttlepod Show, who paid for a year in advance, it feels crappy to be left behind without any explanation as to why my membership (and my equipment donations from Amazon) turned out to be a waste of money. Dom and Conner can say 'trust us' this time, but I don't see how I can do that without a better understanding of what happened. It's too bad because I enjoyed supporting that show.

@markmarkmark is what happened obviously...a greedy man with no integrity. I'm sorry that you got cheated.

@@TheHedgehogsDelimma It is likely that Mark had a lot to do with why this happened. But Dom and Conner left their Patreon supports without a word of explanation. They could have reached out to us but they didn't. They are not blameless.
@TheHedgehogsDelimma7 ай бұрын
@@kellydavidson3379 I do agree with your assertion that they should have offered a better explanation. The entire thing was handled poorly, but I can somewhat give them the benefit of the doubt here. It's hard not to just close off completely from a situation or person after you've been and/or feel betrayed. They did release statements after leaving the pod, but in a way, avoiding getting into the weeds is admirable in this scenario. It was a much more personal affair for them and I try to respect the way they handled it as much as I'd be curious to know more details. The ability to pay for a year in advance seems risky and I can't help but disagree with that business practice of the company to allow it. You can't get a refund after this whatsoever?
@kellydavidson33797 ай бұрын
@@TheHedgehogsDelimma I didn't ask but did follow a few conversations with others asking for refunds. They didn't seem to get anywhere. It isn't worth the added frustration to me at this point. I cancelled my subscription so I won't be charged again in October (I got about 6 months of content). I do understand what you are saying about the two hosts not wanting to "get into the weeds" and they have a right to protect their privacy. However, they could have reached out to folks on Patreon told us they were leaving, and offered to help those of us who had given money in advance to get refunds (even if not successful, an attempt would have been appreciated). If they had done that, even without an explanation about what happened, I would likely be supporting them again on Patreon. But to see them asking for money again -- after they know that they already broke our trust once by bailing on their supporters, well that makes me really angry. I respect the fact that others feel differently.
@TheHedgehogsDelimma7 ай бұрын
@@kellydavidson3379 I can totally understand your point of view and feelings about this situation. It would be nice if the people, like you, who paid in advance for a year sub to the Shuttlepod Patreon were gifted a membership to the D Con Chamber's one if they could show the receipts. That seems like a viable solution to make amends in some way. I sympathize with your feeling on this issue. All the best.
