I watched the footage of Queen Elizabeth's coronation a few weeks ago and it blew me away. I was aware, conceptually, of many of the similarities, but watching her go through the actual physical motions was some of the best temple-adjacent imagery I've ever seen. What a humbling gift that we're not only saved from the effects of sin and death, but we've been invited into His Holy Priesthood to rule and reign in His Kingdom, by no merit of our own, but through the power of Jesus Christ and our faith to walk His way!

I love the episode of “the crown” that shows her coronation. Her uncle, who abdicated, is explaining the ceremony. At one point the cameras are turned away and people are asking why he says because she is being washed and anointed, she is no longer human, but divine. (Something to that effect anyway.) it’s a beautiful scene. Afterwards, you see him mourning the loss of what he’s given up, which I thought was really profound.

The different contributions from different people build on each other and create the really rich discussions on this channel that i just love! I had an "ah-hah!" 5 minutes into the presentation when she was saying some people think the temple's purpose was sacraficing animals so we don't need it any longer. The purpose of the animal sacrafices was to point them to Christ as the sacraficial lamb, so they would recognize Jesus Christ when he came. The purpose of our temples is to point us to Jesus Christ so we'll be personally ready when he comes back. To the ancient and modern purposes are the same. To point us to Christ. Cool.

I really love the connection between ancient and modern covenants. Alonzo Gaskill wrote a book called "Sacred Symbols" that documents the temple ritual after the resurrection of Jesus. These rituals exist in current Orthodox churches. Thanks Andrea, I'm learning tons from you!

Being able to operate just a few, let alone hundreds of temples is a testament to the truthfulness of the gospel. Just the Draper Temple requires the donation of tens-of-millions of dollars of labor-in-kind every year to operate. This doesn’t include initial capital costs and hard operating costs. Name one Protestant organization that could operate even 10 or 20 temples… Why are so many willing to consecrate their time to do this? Because we love Jesus Christ, and we love our fellow brothers and sisters.

I love that she pointed out that the tower of babble was intended as a temple to their false gods. However, because of much research and praying I have done, I am convinced that they were actually building the tower in order to reach something tangible. In the books of Jasper and Jubilees, and at least one other source, we are told that there are three camps of people with specific goals for building that tower. If I remember correctly, one was to place their gods in heaven, another was to depose God while placing their gods in heaven, and the other, headed by Nimrod, was to kill God and take over heaven. Remember also that they went searching for a place to build the tower. I believe it is at least a strong possibility that they were building the tower to reach the city of Enoch suspended in the sky, In which city was the throne of God. I have a lot more information that can support this hypothesis, but I don't have time or space to type it here. Again, this is only a hypothesis.

Yes!!! This is my belief as well. I think once the city of Enoch left the earth it wasn’t completely out of sight yet. I read an interesting book about it called “Zion Rising”

If you continue to use the format of the whiteboard, please make sure your guests use markers with dark ink so we can actually see what they are writing. They should mostly only be using a brand new marker with dark black ink.

As a note: According to apocrypha writings, Abraham lived during the time of the tower of Babel and fought Nimrod. Nimrod actually tried to kill Abraham but God saved him. Thank you for a great teaching, very helpful!

I have a hard time reading the whiteboard, and most of the time I listen while driving or doing dishes, so usually I don’t look anyway. That said, it would be easier to read and follow along with a power point slide presentation while Andrea talks to the points or scriptures on the slides - but I understand that creating a slide deck is much more time consuming. I’m just grateful that you’re doing it at all! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

I enjoyed this and learned from it. I could tell Andrea was much more comfortable because her words flowed, except when she paused to write on the board. I think the board neither aided nor detracted from learning (other than the pauses). I would love to see her use power point slides instead. Being in color they would be much more visually appealing and I think they could aid learning, as well as help her organize her thoughts and let her words flow.

We absolutely love Andrea and deeply appreciate all the work you do. However, my husband and I found this presentation a bit difficult to follow. It was hard to stay focused as Andrea seemed to be looking everywhere but directly at the camera. We’ve noticed that we connect better with podcasts where the speaker looks straight into the camera-it feels much more personal, as if they’re speaking directly to us. For example, we really enjoy how Ward Radio is filmed. That said, we love the content you provide and are so grateful for everything you’re doing. I appreciate these videos so much. Thank you, all. Personally, I just listen while I'm doing things throughout the day, so I don't need the whiteboard, but having keywords and scriptures up would help me navigate the video if I were to come back to try to find something. I do wish Andrea would attribute when they learned things or got ideas from other people, as Mike and Dave do. I love her insights, but when I can see that she is incorporating other people's work without mention I wish there was more humility and attribution. Makes me wary. EDIT: I'm grateful for that. I'd like to see it more than she does. The Ancient Tradition is one I could see in this one. Unless Jack Logan's knowledge and references are just common knowledge and I'm completely unaware (which is possible, I'm nowhere near where all of you are in scriptural knowledge) 😅 There have been some other times in other videos. Just some kindly meant feedback to consider ❤️ But in general.. this is my favorite channel. Thank you so much for all you do!

You have put into words so many things that I have been thinking of and putting together in my mind and heart over the past many years. On Netflix there was the television series called "The Crown". It told about Queen Elizabeth's life and it showed the coronation ceremony. Right there on television! I was blown away by the similarities of some of the things that we do in the temple to prepare to learn to inherit all that God has. He is a creator and he wants us to know that we are creators also. We are builders of the kingdom of God here upon the Earth. Just like in the Book of Revelations, Jesus Christ wants us to become joint heirs with him. We have to learn how to become future kings and queens unto the most high God. How are we going to ever learn to become the great people that we can strive to become, if we don't practice learning how to become future kings and queens in God's Kingdom right now! Practice makes us become purified people. Repentance and forgiveness are key factors in our lives. I'm excited to go back to the temple to take a look at it with different eyes. Thank you Andrea for opening up my spiritual eyes and ears to see and hear more things and prepare to go to the temple again to see, hear and understand more!❤

A large part of the Monarch’s coronation is when they are surrounded by a curtain with only the Bishops and they wash and anoint the Monarch to be either the King or Queen. Very interesting- this part is not visible….done behind a curtain.

Not everything in LDS is based on Bible, otherwise we’d just be another Protestant. We’re a restoration with living Prophets and Apostles.

Ask yourself a question - who compiled our cannon? What books were included in the New Testament and which weren't? Why can't you find Jesus in the old testament? You have to dig very deep in Isaiah to actually see something... Winners write the history and books

If you have been in the temple.... you will see that the majority of scripture is temple text and describes the pattern of the temple presentation over and over again in different narratives and formats which helps different individuals understand the plan of salvation principles in different ways. G-d is good to communicate in all ways that will help all of his children draw near to him. G-d is good, all the time!
