Matt 5:15… “candle” is a mis-translation. The Hebrew “neer” there means “lamp”. Oil symbolizes the Spirit. We use our hands to receive the “blessing” of being filled with righteousness. What shape is a small, handheld oil lamp from 50 AD?

What a comforting realization; also I told my daughter many years ago that I was wondering if the Knights Templar brought the most important treasure, the Temple Ordinances and maybe it worked it way to Joseph Smith and I suspect it was the Hand of the Lord God bringing it all together as it should be or could we say it is part of the restoration.

Where did Jesus and his family flee too when Herod was trying to kill all the boys? Egypt... Where is Egypt? The mediteranean sea... Who controlled the sea? The Romans. Did the Romans have transport ships for money? Yes. Did the family have Gold Frankensense and Myrh? Yes. Egypt was the exit point... not the destination... that may answer your question... in a different way.. look up the hymn Jerusalem... think about Jesus visiting UK... how hard and far would it be in shipping lanes?

Personally I think the remnant of the righteous Nephites and Lamanites who still live on the North American continent had/have the temple rites and gave them to Joseph and Hyrum, they then simplified them and gave them to the church members.

Contrast the iron rod with the yoke of iron that Satan uses to ensnare us. Think about the increased agency that comes with grasping the rod, and the decreased agency of the yoke of iron closing in around our necks.

I had a thought while watching this, the Salt Lake temple is being renovated to remove the movement between rooms. It is easy to just be sad. And see this as a logistical change, sad that we seem to be removing some of the symbolizim that is being discussed in this video, that we will no longer be moving from the Telestial to the Terrestrial to the Celestial rooms. We can be sad about that and see it as a sacrifice of symbolism to get more people through the temple Or... We can see potential revelation/progress growth of those entering the temple. I have already seen poweful symbolism of growth in those attending the temple no longer wearing Aaronic priesthood robes. Why? Becauase it makes the temple a smoother, less challenging experience for those who struggle to put on the clothing? Or... The people who are attending the temple now do not need to prepare. They do not need to wear or use the Aaronic priesthood. They have been either reserved for a time, and are of such a spiritual maturity that they entered more prepared (for those who have attended since that change) or they like me have matured to no longer needing to wear those robes, no longer need to prepare. The temples being built/renovated are for the work of the millennium. The people around in the millennium will be terrestrial law keepers and, as such, can start in that room. Just my thoughts. Thanks for the video. Any chance David would be willing to share that powerpoint so I can more visually see all these temple references and can update my scripture chains so i can be reminded when I forget?

I thought of it as we are still using a three part space, but now it’s the initiatory room, the instruction room, and the celestial room. In my mind at least, as I’ve done more initiatories, I’ve understood that it is an integral part of the endowment, not something separate. We only separate it due to logistics

As you talked about the Robes of righteousness, and the Garment, I believe this is also the wedding garment talked about in the parable. But as in all visions ,dreams, parables, what is being presented is a concept. The concept of becoming one with them. There garment was provided by the king, so I think what it's all pointing to is the doctrine of christ and specifically being baptized by Him spiritually. Or in other words a baptism of Fire and the baptism of the Holy Ghost. That's when your able to stand in their presence. Cleansed of all unrighteousness. Their power and glory now being put upon you. It's like a garment, or a robe. You have provided the sacrifice to THE High Priest able to enter into the Holy of Holies.

The temple is the pattern of the fulness of the Gospel, which is the Doctrine of Christ. HE is the End to whom we must endure. The Doctrine of Christ is not just a piece of the temple instruction. Temple patterns, temple mysteries are meant for instruction to teach us, they are not the way in and of itself.

What is the Testament of Levi and where to find it
@ByWayofCommandment3 ай бұрын
The Testament of Levi is a pseudepagraphical text from around the 2nd century BC. It is one of several texts that compose the "Testaments of the 12 Patriarchs". They're predominantly viewed as apocalyptic literature, similar to Daniel, Ezekiel, etc. and are written from the perspective of the 12 sons of Israel/Jacob. You can find them online at a few different sites, such as thefirmament.org

Not sure many know how to press through the mist of darkness or what the straight and narrow path is. A good question would be what is being said about gates…are there four gates and four rods? Does this symbolize anything that anyone is aware of? I wonder what Dave would have to say about thieves not entering straightway or of sheepfolds?
@luckyson7594Ай бұрын
John 10:1-16 King James Version 10 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. 6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. 7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

What is this clothing? “...And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account…” (Hebrews 4) “...I spread my cloak over you and covered your nakedness. I swore a solemn oath to you and entered into a marriage covenant with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine…” (Ezekiel 16) “...And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. But stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 22) - Greek enduo: to clothe or be clothed with (in the sense of sinking into a garment) How does one become a “son/daughter/child of God”? “...But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God…” (John 1) “...And thus he was baptized, and the Spirit of God descended upon him, and thus he was born of the Spirit, and became quickened in the inner man…thou art one in me, a son of God; and thus may all become my sons. Amen.” (Moses 6) “(See what sort of love the Father has given to us: that we should be called God’s children…we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever it is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is. And everyone who has this hope focused on him purifies himself, just as Jesus is pure).” (1 John 3) “...For the gate by which ye should enter is repentance and baptism by water; and then cometh a remission of your sins by fire and by the Holy Ghost. And then are ye in this strait and narrow path which leads to eternal life; yea, ye have entered in by the gate; ye have done according to the commandments of the Father and the Son; and ye have received the Holy Ghost, which witnesses of the Father and the Son, unto the fulfilling of the promise which he hath made, that if ye entered in by the way ye should receive….” (2 Nephi 31)

The Bible is very messed up from multiple uninspired translators and compilers that changed and discarded precious things. Thank God for the BOM which had one inspired translation. The BOM reads the way the Bible should read! So we rightly use the BOM to understand the Bible.
@ObamaOsucksOass3 ай бұрын
@popfaves370 Please explain exactly how the BIble is messed up from multiple translations? That is a common Mormon lie. List them, don't be lazy and use Mormon talking points. You can go back to the Dead Sea Scrolls and they are the same as what we have today. If there were changes throughout time, you would see it. Any unbiased document scholar will agree that the Bible has been remarkably well-preserved over the centuries. Copies of the Bible dating to the 14th century AD are nearly identical in content to copies from the 3rd century AD. When the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, scholars were shocked to see how similar they were to other ancient copies of the Old Testament, even though the Dead Sea Scrolls were hundreds of years older than anything previously discovered. Even many hardened skeptics and critics of the Bible admit that the Bible has been transmitted over the centuries far more accurately than any other ancient document. There is absolutely no evidence that the Bible has been revised, edited, or tampered with in any systematic manner. The sheer volume of biblical manuscripts makes it simple to recognize any attempt to distort God’s Word. There is no major doctrine of the Bible that is put in doubt as a result of the inconsequential differences among the manuscripts. Now compare that to the Book of Mormon. There are over 5000 changes to "the most correct book ever". Joseph Smith stated that the BOM is directly from the mouth of God and there are no errors in it. Since the first publication of the book of Mormon, there have been 5000 changes. Some of those changes are substantial. “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” - Joseph Smith Royal Skousen, a BYU linguistics professor and expert of the textual history of the Book of Mormon, identified 5,280 variations in all its editions. Source: The Book of Mormon, The Earliest Text, Royal Skousen Here are some examples of the 5000+ changes. Most of the changes are grammatical - no big deal! I guess God doesn't have access to a Dictionary. Other changes are huge... things that needed to be changed because they were huge anachronisms. Christ named too soon 1 Nephi 12:18 - 1830 Original Edition - Yea, even the word of the justice of the Eternal God, and Jesus Christ, which is the Lamb of God. 1837, forward - Yea, even the word of the justice of the Eternal God, and (Removed - Jesus Christ) (Added - the Messiah) who is the Lamb of God. - why would they have to remove the name Jesus Christ? Becuase it was a huge anachronism! King Benjamin alive after being dead Mosiah 6:5 records King Benjamin’s death. Later in the original, the author forgot that king Benjamin had died, which necessitated replacing him with another King. 1830 Original Edition - Mosiah 21:28 - King Benjamin had a gift from God. 1837, Forward - Mosiah 21:28 - King (Removed - Benjamin) (Added - Mosiah) had a gift from God. 1830 Original Edition - Ether 4:1 - And for this cause did king Benjamin keep them 1837, forward - Ether 4:1 - And for this cause did king (removed - Benjamin) (added - *Mosiah) keep them Changing Nephi's name to Moroni “When I first looked upon him I was afraid, but the fear soon left me. He called me by name and said unto me that he was a messenger sent from the presence of God to me and that his name was Nephi/Moroni.” History, 1838-1856, Volume A-1, Current version - “When I first looked upon him I was afraid, but the fear soon left me. He called me by name and said unto me that he was a messenger sent from the presence of God to me and that his name was Moroni.” I can keep going and going and going if you like. There are over 5000 changes and errors. I'm your Huckleberry! Before you throw mud at the Bible, you should realize that one thing that Mormons did very well is document everything. That means it is super duper easy to identify Mormon Lies!
