Mazel Tov! So happy for you that your parents have evolved, and are accepting of you. It's almost criminal how a young lad's entire coming of age is spoilt by such feelings of shame and "less than"status. Your honesty shines through as a light to those who may be suffering and hiding in the shadows. Many blessings to you.

Speaking as a 61 yr old gay guy in the UK, it was tough then and it's tough now - for far too many people. Well done for your honesty, and for using your profile to shine light on how hard it can be to come out, and to reframe your relationship with your family. ❤❤

Congratulations to you for finding yourself. I had to go through this all in the 80s with the added fear of AIDS and prejudice that also brought. I'm so glad that the religious background and attitudes didn't damage you as I have seen it do to many others. On a side note... it freaks me out that you speak in your native tongue and then switch to singing in English with a perfect sounding accent...😊 I hope you find the beautiful man that you deserve soon..❤

Wow! I could really connect with Andreas on faith, the secret, and coming out. I do hope he finds someone who has strong faith as he does and it shines brilliantly in and around him. Before I listened to the interview I have to say the clips that was shown and him at pride and tears I got emotional. I suffered from the church, family, friends and relatives as well society. My faith was strong then as it is now. It is what kept me going and knowing God loves me. I wish you all the best in your life. Sending love from America. ❤🏳️🌈

I hate when people say homosexuality is a lifestyle! I also hate when people say to you that being gay is your choice. Unfortunately, it’s hard to combat ignorance especially in this day and age, but we can’t give up! I think he’s a perfect example.
@adelinasardothien8238Ай бұрын
right!! Nobody ever calls ‘straight’ a lifestyle…a lifestyle is being vegan…being a marathon runner…buying expensive shit…not a sexuality & feeling love which is a very real human thing that all of us have and need. It makes it come off as a frivolous thing. i feel like people always say the ‘lifestyle’ shit when they’re *trying* to be understanding and tolerant, but the connotation is still dismissive. It’s not a style, it’s not a “preference,” it’s who I am to my core. Tbh it’s pretty outdated language which is just annoying

what religion and the church has done to lgbt people is genuinely so cruel and sickening and downright abuse. I’m glad he has a good relationship with god now but JESUS CHRIST it’s heartbreaking imagining a little innocent 12 year old boy shaking in fear with depression and anxiety thinking he’s going to hell because of a made up story pushed by bigots. Like he did NOT have to go through that. No gay kid or any lgbt kid should ever ever go through that. It makes me sick. Protect our kids 💔💔💔

It's the struggle of life. It's part of the development of youth into adulthood. Don't just outright blame the Church or God.
@saimoncoleАй бұрын
I can sympathize with him because I went through the same thing, just as intensely, because it was in the 1970s. I wasn't in a religious family. I was in a dysfunctional one. He is an incredibly lucky lad to have had so little confusion in his life, and I think he realises that and draws strength from his faith. In some ways I was lucky not to be in such a religious environment, growing up with a broader perspective. Now I'm older, I can see that I was a bit obsessed with my sexual orientation - understandable at that age and those times. These days, I know I'm not defined by my sexuality, or even my sex. There's more to life. I think this lad's experience is a lesson for Christians more than anything. For me, it reminds me how lucky some people are to grow up loved and confided in, however conditionally, and in an environment of certainty. But be careful when dismantling some certainties. If we obsess about sexuality, sex and freedom of expression, we can lose perspective, and that's why we are now legitimizing gender dysphoria. Believing you're in the wrong body is usually what a confused gay or bi person thinks in struggling against homosexuality and gender stereotyping.

It is now a medically proven fact that some people are born gay. Being gay is NOT a choice. It is NOT wrong. The entire medical profession declassified homosexuality as an illness in 1973, 51 years ago. As a former Baptist Pastor, the most thing for me was looking carefully at what the Bible actually says in the original Hebrew and Greek scriptures. Happy to explain.

He wasn't born rich. To use an American baseball idiom, it's not like he was born on third base, thinking he hit a triple. He's a self-made man, so it's no stretch to call him amazing. As an ordained graduate Seminarian, I know that "God" has created gays just as "God" has created straights. The sin is not in being homosexual and embracing your homosexuality. The sin is in denying it. Jesus says, 'Judge ye not'. Our sexuality is a gift to be celebrated. Period.

@@keltus_warrior6491 Peaceful coexistence with genuine respect is too rare and always beautiful. This 62 year old homosexual, physician, and lifelong atheist finds a lot of wisdom in the Christian Bible. My forward thinking Catholic parents convinced me to attend the Jesuit prep school my brothers had, by assuring me I wouldn’t be taught "what to think" about things but rather "to think" about things. Their total acceptance of my nature and beliefs from a very early age was invaluable.
