OK, thanks for your review...it was spot on. and I have linked to your songs. I think your a talented young singer yourself (tell Shaun/Sean) , I'm not the drunk guy in the corner). I am like many and have fallen for Angelina(Voice)...and I love this video. So many of hte the reviewers (who have no business reviewing music of any kind), actually believe this was a one take, or that they are afraid of the Angelina fans dropping them... they wont tell the truth. However, like you pointed out the flaws are actually standard. Unfortunately the video was not a good for Angelina opposed to her New Republic video are top notch. I have seen a few of your vlogs and it looks like you guys are in Florida, do you post where your playing ( no worries I flunked out of stalking school) interested in seeing your guys set?

Look I understand you guys are musicians, but I'm an old musician, sound, and video engineer, and producer. Angelina does not set up a microphone in her home, and record to a track to lip sync. She did these covers to exercise her talent, and her voice to show that she can cover just about anything, and do it as a child. She is not lip syncing here on this song. The problem is that the digital recording is out of sync with the sound on the video. This is something that does not happen with analog recordings, video as well as audio, but it frequently happens with digital video with sound. If this particular video is sound synced adjusted her mouth movements sync up exactly with her words all through the song. The only time you can catch her lip syncing is when she knows it's absolutely obvious because she's lip syncing to someone else's vocal, and she does that just for fun. This artist is a very knowledgeable, very skillful vocalist. She is absolutely well-versed in vocal technique as well as vocal tone coloration to where it is easy for her to mimic a lot of singers, and their styles. She's not just a singer she is a vocal virtuoso. She is a phenomenon of our time, and it would do a lot of singers good if they studied her life as it is and has been for only 15 years. You will find that musically she is extremely deep and well educated. She has an extensive collection of records going back to Ella Fitzgerald in the late 40s and 50s, and going back to Billie Holiday in the 30s and 40s. She is really a serious student of American music and is still only 15 years old. Whitney was 29 when she did this song so what do you think this 15-year-old prodigy will be doing when she's 29.

Definitely not lip synch. Her engineer said she did this in one take, unlike Whitney who had a million dollar studio recording with, as you say, many takes, and stitching together the better parts. A few weeks later Angelina sang this live with the composer of the song at the piano. She is 13 years old here, Whitney recorded this at age 29.

Good job! This was a GREAT reaction and analysis. For instance, from 11:25 , you explain the essence of studio recording (and recording a music video) very well for non-musicians. Apparently, they are not all grateful, but whatever. As a musician myself, I have also noticed that there is more than one take involved here - but knowing how Angelina likes to work, probably only a couple, with the video take definitely being one of them. I always have to point out that a few weeks after this Angelina (just 13 here) could be seen singing this song with David Foster (the guy that wrote it for Whitney) playing the keyboard for her at a live benefit concert they did together. I think it's possible that this was her getting prepared for that event. I also just have to say, I always enjoy your Angelina reactions. When I saw your thumb ratio on this video, I was curious what you might have said to get the thumbs down. Now that I have watched it, I of course know why. There are a lot of people that don't really want to hear anything that they think might be a 'negative' about Angelina (even if it is not really a negative, but actually just industry standard stuff). I for one, appreciate hearing an honest review. I have watched thousands of Angelina reactions over the years (no exaggeration) , and it gets kind of old hearing people just saying what they think the viewers want to hear. Absolutely! Every song written comes from the heart and soul of someone... she has the unique ability to be able to find the soul in the words of the song. Even more important she feels it and you feel it just by listening. That is the mark of the best musicians and writers.. I’ve been playing music since I was 11 and am 74 now and still playing, writing and listening. To say I am impressed is an understatement. I rarely have goose bumps and tears listening to music but I have both with Angelina most every time. Love A Million Miles and her book... I pray everyday for her and hope she stays on the path she’s on now and not follow some of our supposedly talented singers. I could and do listen to her everyday. She is so calming!!! When you can shut down the voices in a huge auditorium Of screaming people as she did in AGT Simply by raising a mic to your mouth you have power, so much power!! A singer like Angelina doesn’t need filthy lyrics, a screaming voice, or Dirty dancing half dressed!!!! All she needs is a Mic and a stool, a piano or guitar and the people will come and listen and feel the real power of music!!!!

Angelina was barely 13 when she posted this video, so still very much a young girl; Whitney was 29. The demands of this song on the voice are very, very high, and her voice box is still maturing, and will be for about 15 more years. And as you said, you can tell she is running low on fuel toward the end. I believe (but can't say for sure) that what you said concerning this video is accurate; they took the best parts from several (maybe just 2) run throughs. I was lucky to catch the original release of this video. Soon after a fan took the video and "enhanced" the audio and laid it back down onto the original video. It was all done in one take but they smoothed out and blended some notes and even removed a few. This is what makes it look like she lip-synced it. The original really shows how much she was pushing and reaching her vocal limits on each "you" and the high notes. The video really showed her strengths, weaknesses and just how much she had progressed vocally. She really wasn't known for belting. It also showed how confident she is and the courage she has to tackle this epic song and put it all out there in the raw for everyone to see.

And besides if she hits a few off notes (which she does) why wouldn't she edit those out? Just because some people lip synch doesn't mean you should assume everyone does it. Best reaction to Angelina yet by you guys. It is very possible that this was "comped" since I have heard other reactors comment on the silent hand slap at the beginning is a sync method for video and audio. You will almost always see Angelina's animated hand movements when singing which I personally love to see, it shows that she is really feeling the song! My favorite parts of the song are when she "Angel Vibes" it as she does in so many of her performances and the landing of this song is perfect! btw I'm going to start using that term in future comments, love it. Phrasing and vibrato are some of Angelina's strengths and adds so much to the song. Angelina's live performances are, imo, even better than her studio ones. She seems to thrive on the audience. I would love to see her do this again live with a full orchestra. I believe today she could do it. At any rate for a child on the cusp of 13 years old this is a stellar performance and all of her videos are allowing us to watch her growth as an artist and not many artists would ever consider doing it. Would love to get your take on "CRY ME A RIVER, Proysenfestivalen 21.07.2017" at 11 years old. I really enjoyed this reaction and hope to see more Angelina soon!! Thank you

Sometimes I am glad that I dont have a singers ear, I in most cases dont hear that something not is perfect. So far I always tought that it was 2 takes split where she is out of the picture. No I dont know and I realy dont care, I just love this performance. Keep up your reactions I like them.

I love the insight on the sync splash screen. I didn’t realize that’s what was going on but now that you mention it I understand. Like you said if doesn’t take away from the performance. I actually think the insight adds to the performance.

Andrea has that type of modern speaking voice by women in the US these days, where you have sort of relaxed vowels. It is a fascinating development. In the 90s and early 2000s it was the vocal fry voice, and now it is this. Fascinating!

Very nice reaction, you all calm down now....bring in the techno nerds and examine the video. Thing is, this 13 year old did a wonderful rendition of a hard hard Iconic song that was sung by a professional singer at 29 years old in a massive recording studio. Thank you Andrea for supporting the young artist on your channel.

So…you two know that I have nothing but happiness when I even see your faces. You are fine artists and nice people. So I made a big mistake by reading high blood pressure comments that made it sound like you trashed Angelina. Then the big hands comment (which you explained in a context later) and I was ready! And then you both did your things where you are supportive, complimentary, professional and appropriate. There are some fans who have followed Angelina much longer than I and can perhaps miss the point of what you said and see a negative reaction. There is one contextual part that I have noted. There is a video of her backstage rehearsal for AGT Yellow Brick. She misses some notes. Then she goes live and kills it. I am not a musician to know if this is common, but read in some comment that when she sang this Whitney song live with the composer there were no issues. Again, thanks to you both, stay wonderful and I will see you soon (unless there is a pillow involved).

I know it's hard to believe but Angelina is doing her songs in one tic now that she's signed to Ripblack Records their producer said there are 3 singers recording a song in one hit Beyoncé II I do not remember his name and the third Angelina. But even with me flowing with your mind that it's done in some tics it's still amazing for ages 12-13 I'm sure the great Whitney Houston could not have done it at that age !!!

Actually this song was written about my talent level. So Angelina has a voice that is extremely comfortable in the lower ranges. To then stand that range on it's head and reach for these high notes has taken some work. Remember we are working with a 12-13 year old voice here. It will take a lot of work to stretch her vocal apparatus to accommodate the load. At these pitches your vocal folds get tired and start tightening up just like you other muscles do if you ask them to do too much. Go swing a sledge hammer 15-20 times into an old tire take a break then do it again. How many could you do the second go round? I'll bet not as many as the first time, nor were they as forceful. Your vocal folds are no different they must be brought along carefully to avoid lasting damage. Even if you can't sing a lick like me, try singing as high as you can for as long as you can and you will feel the strain that this girl is putting on her equipment. Thanks guys for your great reaction, and also for your knowledge on what is going on inside the performance. Some performers are very animated when they sing like Aurora. Some you little to no movement at all like Daneliya Tuleshova. It is in who we are and how we take in information. I am going to give you two links the first is Aurora in a live performance of, 'Runaway', the second of Miss Tuleshova singing the same song. See the different levels of expression. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJSaiYqNlKqbmJo Aurora kzbin.info/www/bejne/moPWeH2Cf9h8sNE Daneliya 14 year old from Kazakstan

Don't hate me fellow Angels, but some of this track was dubbed from at least one other take. The most obvious audio/video mismatch is at 4:07 in the original video (around 12:28 in this video). It's just for a second, but you can see in the video that she starts singing before the audio starts. That's the best way to identify that some of a recording is dubbed (you may be able to find other parts of this recording where that's the case). Nevertheless, as Andrea & Sean said, almost every music video is a composite of the best audio segments taken from several takes. It's by no means a "bad thing." Of course, some of you also correctly observed that most of Angelina's home recordings were done in a single take -- a fact that was confirmed by both of her guitar accompanists (Egil & Ivan) in separate interviews. But this is not one of those recordings.

That was a good reaction, Angelina out of her comfort zone, giving great respect to Whitney. If you want to hear Angelina with the chilling vibes, live in an outdoor concert, back in 2017, filmed from a member of the audience, no fancy editing tricks - as it comes, just a relaxed rendition of the highest order, Cry me a River. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKOXeoGGbd6beJI

She did not lipsync this at all. She actually did it in one shot. And she's only 12 uear old here i believe. Angelina Jordan's talent and vocal ability is just ridiculously off the charts. She come up with her own arrangements and tells them how she want the music arrangement

This is definitely a one-shot video take. But they need the hand clapping thing to sync both the vocals and the karaoke soundtrack. If they had to do more than one take, they would have had to work with more than one camera. But here, only one camera is in use. If Angelina had to sing the song more than once, it would be difficult to sync video and vocals because Angelina doesn't sing the same thing twice. The only videos I've seen with professional video editing are the studio "live" videos of Million Miles and 7th Heaven and the video of I Put A Spell On You. All of their home videos are one-take videos. Most of them with guitarist even with only sound through studio speakers to cam mic. And if they had video and sound edited they would cut the hand clapping out.

I think you guys are dead on. I classify AJ performances as experimental or finalized. Her covers can be developmental. You can see this in Fly me to the moon or Feeling Good. This is an experiment in belting. There is a short video of her in her crib singing a phrase from this song with a microphone. So it has been on her mind a long time. You can see a tiktok of another Whitney Houston song l will always love you released by AJ a few days ago. She has clearly mastered the Whitney belting. Obviously in one take. That one is shocking. No tricks. No producing.

I would be surprised if there was any lip-syncing here. Angelina is known to be able to do any song in one or two takes. Her record producer at Republic has said that in all the years he has worked with singers, she is only one of three that can do an entire song in one take! The other two are Sam Smith and Beyonce.

I think you are wrong when you say that she probably sang this many times and they mixed this together whith the best from each take, becauce this is not a studio,it's only Angelina's musiccorner in her own home,I don't think she has the equipment or know how to do what you are sugessting.Usually when she sing a cover at home whith a guitar acompany it's one or two takes at the most,so I don't think you are right.
