It echoes half as long as it should, because they had him talking too much and cutting out all the repeating passages in the work. Which is a pity.

I am so glad that I got to take a few lessons with one of his best students. His name was Andrej Metsnakov (idk how to spell his last name not gonna lie). He came hear feom the Ukraine YEARS ago and taught in Mansfield, Ohio for awhile. He had many pictures of him from childhood all the way to adulthood doing lessons with Andres Segovia.

When I was a kid my friends who played all wanted to be Jimi Page. I wanted to be Segovia. When I first started playing my dad brought home a double album called The Ten Masters of the Guitar and when I heard Segovia doing Malaguena I was blown away. I wanted to be able to play like that so badly. This clip shoes just how effortless he made it look. A true master for the ages.

One of the thing about Segovia is that he is instantly recognizable regardless of whether he was playing a Hauser or Ramirez. Though very different instruments (both wonderful), the sound was truly created in his musical understanding or vision of what it could be, his technique and an artistic soul

@tasmedic
@tasmedic Жыл бұрын
I suspect they asked Segovia how much it would cost for him to play the entire piece, then asked him to play it without the introduction or any of the repeating passages. That's the only way they could afford him, and it cut the time of the performance in half. Which is a shame, because Sor put repeating sections in many of the variations with the intention of allowing the performer to introduce his or her own diversity of interpretation each time a segment was repeated. Never mind. It's all over and done with pretty quickly by Segovia in this video.... I wish he'd spent less time talking and more time playing the piece as it is actually scored. He's a much better player than a talker.

Infatti, io ho risposto a tutt'altra questione. Saluti.
@MrSerpes
