This is great! I learned a lot, which is surely the point of any media interview - not how many 'triggered clicks' it provokes. Mick Lynch has captured the mood of the nation I think. What reasonable person can disagree with anything he said here?

If people actually listed to what he says, how can you disagree? Fair play to Andrew Castle also who showed him respect instead of treating him as some kind of ogre as all of the other cretins have.

I wish that the media would listen to Mick Lynch, jus look at the past history of the cuts and changes to the railway, when maintenance is reduced this is when major failures start to happen, why target pension and change work hours, we all need a home and work balance to keep work positive. mick lynch is speaking the truth it’s the media that are twisting the story, run the railways correctly, and safely.

I think the Conservatives and the media thought we would turn on the railway Unions considering their amount of effort they have put in too demonising them

When they closed Children's Centres we also went through this. We lost 46% of the work force and the rest had to take new and cheaper contracts. I would have lost £9k annually if I had gone onto the new contracts. This is how they are trying to get the working class people by forcing them to take sign the contract doing the same job. Everyone needs to support the unions as Mick is a great representation as to how unions deal with those in power. The only way we can is the public support it and workers are always part of the unions.

I'm not a fan of Andrew Castle, but kudos to him here. Some of the crap Mick Lynch has had to face and face it stoically, he has, in recent weeks, beggars belief. But then again, this is the British Media we're talking about! 😉😉

What Mick Lynch is saying is what the mass media should be reporting on, and having a proper discussion about. That will never happen because they are owned by billionaires. All aspects of the state are working to impoverish the working class, and most people still look to the media to inform them.

I'm in America but the GREED of the Wealthy is ridiculous...they can't even spend all their wealth in a lifetime and Frontline faces you see in government are not real power but the wealthy who hide in castles(symbolic) and make moves to diminish what they call the lower class. FYI 25,000 to 30,000 yearly is not a working wage when you have a family...even a childless single can't survive with today's costs in countries like America and England. Pay people so they can FEED their families. GOD will judge these nations for their GREED.

In the UK, hiding in castles is not symbolic. Most of them reside literally in castles. This concerns the UK and not just England.

Grant shapps wants to turn the railway into another smart motorway scenario , by abandoning maintenance schedules and reducing safety personnel the rail will have the ability to cull a very large number of paying passengers .it was mentioned that train drivers a re not as skilled as pilots ,this may be true ,but they are responsible for carrying just as many passengers on their vehicles ,and i for one do not wish myself or my loved ones to be entrusted to a driver who is forced by his company to work when exhauested through excessive hours being imposed ,and operating under minimum not maximum safety rules

If you tolerate what they did to p&o ,what they are trying to do to the railworkers ,teachers, nurses barristers ,telecom etc,etc ,then you will be next .Join a union ,for the price of a cup of coffee each week ,you and your fellow workers will have some collective power and representation when they come after your working conditions ,wages and pensions . DO IT TODAY AND HELP THE UNION TO HELP YOU AND YOURS

The imminent advent of self driving electric cars will render railways obsolete for the movement of people. They might still be viable for freight but that's far from certain.

Imminent? You'll have a long wait. Electric cars are heading for crunch time on battery supply and where is the power for all cars when petrol ends .. As for self drive ... it's a pipe dream Peace and love 🚗

With worker's earning and spending power being continuously eroded by the Tories, the average person will never be able to afford an electric car. Heating and food will take much of their spending power, making public transport essential for mass transit.
