Be careful brother Andrew Tate. Allah says "I am to my servant what my servant thinks of me" (Hadith Qudsi). So if you think he is fearsome, HE WILL be fearsome to you. If you think he is loving and kind or if you think he is "The Avenger"...either way you are right. On the day of judgment when we must respond for everything we did in life (before the conversion if we converted and stopped doing bad stuff from pre islamic life) I think its best to think of him as Loving and Merciful. But, if he is willing to learn more one step at a time and change, then we will forgive and continue being hospitable and welcoming. We know that people don't change overnight right away after they convert because, they're human like we all are. Part of the faith is that we are welcoming to the new revert with open arms, since it's the respectful thing to do for another person who wants to try to know more and change. We are much more realistic and not as naive as you think. One thing you don't know, is that we actually do overlook sins when someone has converted and shows they want to do better.
