I dont suppose I could talk you into doing again in the summer, and this time include the Col D'Iseran. I was so dissapointed when I first came to Val D'Isere myself. Too many high rise buldings and too much tourism has ruined this place. I did love the barrage and the lake - its spectacular. The Col D'Iseran is pure nature and breath taking views. Lots of summer snow and melt water streams. It was lovely to see the drive up to Val D'Isere again - I so enjoyed the ever lovely lake before the gate like entrance to the town.

Bavaria was lovely at the end of last year, while the UK and southern france was flooding north of the Alps was mostly in clear sunshine, only the odd day of rain :). The weather gets shunted around by the mountains in my view, often if it's bad one side it's good the other. I am liking the crisp snowscenes though, I'm getting itchy feet just looking :)

Great video, very nice scenery, nice showing the journey and the mood of the journey with friends, very nice. 30 euros for a lunch, almost as expensive as in Norway, unfortunately. Finally, if you like this nature, then you have to come to Norway, then you get what you have now + the fjords, The coast of Norway from south to north is unique. Looking forward to the next video

Hi Andrew fabulous May I ask a stupid question you we’re driving off snow, was it front wheel or rear wheel drive and I’m assuming the Burnster had winter Tyers on?
@andrewjditton4 жыл бұрын
Hi Justin, it's RWD with winter tyres. Review coming Sunday!
@prou54 жыл бұрын
Stunning scenery, I take it the van was fitted with winter tyres as you manoeuvred on that snow as it wasn’t there...... or did you put something sticky on the tyres 😊😊

Hi, Andrew, enjoying this series with the Burstner motor home. I assume it came with snow tyres fitted, I don't suppose that you would be allowed into those areas at this time of the year without? Perhaps you could include a short piece on such issues at the end of the series when you do the full review? Cheers, SNG.
@G-ra-ha-m4 жыл бұрын
In my experience german campers come with 4 seasons tyres with a 'snowflake' mark which means they are good for winter too. I think you are correct that it's winter tyre season on the continent - from October IIRC. I suspect you'll get fined and forced to fit winter capable tyres in Germany if you go there now without them. My advice is to always look for a/specify van with big wheels (16" wheels and maxi chassis on the Sevel base , the diameter of the outer tyre is far bigger, you get 2" extra ground clearance and better brakes). The bigger tyres in my view grip the snow better. The Mercedes base is probably one of the best for grip with that smooth autobox and big tyres.
@andrewjditton4 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephen, I have already filmed the review but I do go in to a lot more detail there! Yes, they are winter tyres.
@andrewjditton4 жыл бұрын
Excellent stuff Graham, thanks for responding.
@cedricthorn39754 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, had Burstner fitted winter tyres for you and are they standard on all new vehicles?
@andrewjditton4 жыл бұрын
Hi Cedric, the one we used (French spec, German supplier) did indeed have winter tyres. But I would check with your local dealer - for example in the UK, winter tyres are neither standard nor necessary for most people. Cheers!

Hi Andrew, I'm really interested in your comments about the extraction vents on the side that you sit out in. Are they noisy? Does any heat come out? I would if you could touch on this on your full review. Great scenic drive. Thanks.
@jns83934 жыл бұрын
I think you're referring to the two rectangular vents you see on the driver's side of the van and if so they are for the fridge/freezer. They are for fresh air in and exhaust gases (if running on gas). All MHs have them and there's no noise.
@jimbobwoo4 жыл бұрын
@@jns8393 Of course all motorhomes have them. Mine has them, but they are on the other side. As you mention, one is obviously for the fridge, and the other being exhaust if gas on. Have you sat by these extractors when they are on? Gas vents let out a smell and would not be pleasant sitting outside and hearing it or smelling it. If the gas heater is on inside, I still want to be sitting outside in peace and with no smell. Didn't know I had to spell it out, but I hope it now makes more sense.
@jns83934 жыл бұрын
@@jimbobwooI didn't know your starting point e.g. you may have been American or not have/had a van, so was only trying to help. However the vent from the heating system or gas heater is not one of the rectangular vents I referred to.
@jimbobwoo4 жыл бұрын
@@jns8393 So you presumed then rather than asking?...I'm fully aware the heating system vent is different to the gas heater vent, but you carry on splitting hairs if it helps you to think you are right in your conquest to prove somebody wrong 😉
@jns83934 жыл бұрын
@@jimbobwoo I went by your wording is all. Conquest? Not at all, but it's fine, I'll know what to do in future.
@Sam-ch9mn2 жыл бұрын
Been looking at changing from Autotrail to the Lyseo range. But they are SO expensive and you have to pay even more for simple things like roof vents and extractor fans. Overall, beautiful vehicles but not sure they’re worth it.
