We had the same thing happen on a SB 8.2 deck with TFS 11 R heads After tuliping the second set of intakes we got Ferrea competition series valves never had any problems after the change. Easy way to check is measure overall length. They etr longer by over .020 Not much seal after that happens. Hope this may help in the long run.
