Greyson said it himself: “There shouldn’t be a ’You’re doing this or that wrong’ or ‘That’s not how it’s been done properly’ as long as the job, i.e. drumming, is done beautifully… If you find a way of holding them sticks in way that make YOUR playing better than that of the others, maybe even better than the ‘standard’, then don’t give af what those others say… just go for it!” I love this guy. No matter what music style he’s playing, it’s always something special both to listen to and watching him perform. Greyson Nekrutman is “The Dude” man!

100%. Brendan Buckley said something profound when I interviewed him. 'There's no right or wrong way to do anything'. People think I as a drum teacher will be dogmatic in my approach. It's the opposite. Student dictates their own path. I just try and keep things coherent, keep them motivated.

I would like to clarify something. I (possibly) unfortunately referred to Greyson as a ‘Kid’ a few times in this video. I meant no disrespect. He is 19 years old at the time of this video. I hope you understand my intention in the moment was to discuss how young, yet mature he is. He’s very young to me! (Insert old man meme) 🤣👌 I feel I should clarify this. As you were…

I’m not a drummer at ALL but I’m obsessed with Greysons drumming. Have been a big fan of Buddy Rich for decades and watching/listening to Greyson is just spectacular. His technique is mind boggling, his timing and dynamics are so perfect. Watching his left hand technique is beauty. He brings all of that and a true musicality to drums. I honestly believe, s as a listener not a drummer, he is one of the top drummers of all time and I really look forward to watching him grow! Such a fantastic artist. He’s a hell of a rock/metal drummer as well.

I've been playing drums for over 40 years and in the early days I've had upto 35 students, I' m in absolute awe right now. This performance was amazing! Very talented young man!

After following Greyson for a while, it seemed inevitable he was going to do Caravan, but WOW WOW WOW what a performance!!! The ridiculous thing is he is simply talented and can turn his hand to play anything.

I think I saw an interview with him recently where he says that he started as a rock drummer before falling in love with jazz. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him do that sometime.

Hell yeah from New England Andrew..Parts of this vid looks sped up but it's not..As you figured out I'm a Metal guy but a player like this could easily do metal!! Mario Duplantier is a trained Jazzer as was Bill Ward so I can see thus dude backing a metal band..thx for another great drummer man..Peace...

Yeah obviously he's a sick drummer, I won't beat that dead horse. Instead, I'm going to compliment the compression on the drums. Aggressive, but not overly so. Perfectly accentuates his dynamics without flattening them into a pancake.

Gene Krupa helped write the god-damned book all those years ago. I appreciate seeing a young drummer rising up who knows where things started and shows respect to those who pioneered that line of work.

Wow. No doubt this guy is awesome. One major gripe, though. When someone else is playing a solo you don't try to take the center stage. It comes down to maturity and not feeling the need to impress every moment.

What an awesome trip around the drums. There was a comment that you made about "hands" and the first drummer for me that came to mind was Matt McGuire. He plays a lot of rock but feels at home playing drum and bass / dubstep. He is the musical director now for the Chainsmokers which is an awesome gig for him. Well worth checking out.

What really blows me away about Greyson is his limb Independence. To some the term may seem weird but drummers know what I'm talking about. He just seems to have ZERO connection between his hands & feet on each side. Makes his flow seem complicated & yet some how effortless at the same time.

Everyone's comparing him to Buddy Rich. But to me, Greyson's style feels more like Joe Morello in his prime, combined with Vinnie, especially in the way he works his way around the tom drums, and elements of the left hand style.

There are a few Buddy-esque phrases in this solo, but not enough to warrant any deep comparison with him in my opinion. I’m not sure Greyson has the chops to earn such a comparison … or the desire to. He’s his own opinion player, and he’s great.
