I think its useful to have a video on this every once in a while so people can see the progress of Android Automotive OS vs Android Auto App. Imo, the former will become ubiquitous once they have total feature parity. Getting all of the benefits of Android auto without draining your battery or overheating your phone is attractive.

Can you please do a comprehensive review of who has the best connected vehicle plans and features in the industry? Might get expensive to enrol for revery single automaker, but I do believe most offer a free trial at least.

I'm glad it's not just my car that has dreadful refresh rates on Andriod Auto. The smoothness of the maps and animations look appalling on the 10.6" screen. Although I'm using an ultra too. Carplay on the other hand looks much better.

how do you tell what version of Android Auto you have? There is no separate app as it is built into the OS/

You should do 60fps whenever you walk through ui. This looks laggy but I can’t tell if it’s just because of how you recorded it

Some things I really dislike on Google Maps is that it often doesn't tell you which lane to take, unless you press on the green Textbox to expand it. So it knows which lane you have to take, but it chooses not to show you. Driving through European cities it can get very frustrating not knowing if you're in the right lane. It gets even more frustrating when GM tells you to the street name you need to pull into instead of the direction. It's like yeah if I knew the street names I don't think I would be using navigation. Just tell me where to go by what's written on the signs and I'll know if I'm good. Also, finding a gas station on the way is also horrible. I want to find a Gas Station on my route, and not some random gas stations where I have to leave the highway. It shows you 6 gas stations. 3 of them are outside the highway and the other 3 are like 30 miles away. But if you just continue on driving on the highway you'll find a highway gas station in 5 miles. I really don't understand how the algorithm/filter works. That sidebar which Tomtom had that showed you POIs along your route and how far away they are is so good. Wish google maps had that too.

I'm on 11.74 and this doesn't look much different. I'm on a 2021 Honda with a smaller screen and it's a little slower. My complaint is when I start the car, I have to go thru a routine to turn off maps, (when I don't need it) and start one of the 3 or 4 music apps I use. It takes a couple of minutes. Seems like there should be a way to speed all that up.

No one would ever use AA if they have it built in natively. Because of that I think it makes AA here look messy and cluttered especially overlayed on Fords native UX; it’s literally surrounded by auxiliary UX. On my Ioniq 5 AA looks a lot cleaner

And just like Android, google had to make AA more confusing and a mess. Car infotainment need to be simple and easy to navigate. All you need is maps and music.

It would be nice if Google could make it so the assistants voice doesn’t sound like it’s speaking through an AM station from 1940. Siri is crystal clear with CarPlay, so clearly it can be done.

@General_M2 ай бұрын
I mean it’s kinda dumb to use Android Auto if your car runs Android Automotive unless you don’t want to pay for the data plan for the car. But it’s good to have the choice of not having another data plan, though it would be nice if they just did automatic tethering to your phone for data.

Love videos like this. Short and sweet, and really shows there is still a difference between Android Automotive and Android Auto and why you might still want Android Auto even if the car has native Android Automotive. This demo actually made me want to keep Android Auto rather than move to an Android Automotive based system that potentially didn't have Android Auto.

This was not your usual quality. You confused this massively by discussion Android Automotive. The back and forth was hard to follow. Please reshoot this and focus only on Android Auto updates.

He was comparing Android Automotive to Android Auto and showing the differences between the two, along with the new features in Android Auto. I thought it was useful and showed that Android Auto still has features that are missing in Android Automotive. But I can see for someone new to either, it could have been clearer which one he was in at any moment in time. As a longtime Android Auto user on a Ford, this made complete sense to me, but maybe not everyone

@@AdamJakowenko the subject of the video was about updates to Android Auto. If the title was "a comparison of Android Auto and Android automotive" then the video would have made more sense.
