I've been into VR since Oculus DK2, have owned about a dozen other headsets (Vive, Vive Pro, Index, Varjo, Meta, etc.) and have seen the amazing evolution of this segment. I know price is a concern for on this product, but to me it's worth the premium when I think of how advanced this headset is. I don’t think any VR user is worried about neck strength. They’re worried about the face hugger strap system. I think this is only going to be usable if it can adopt a 3rd party halo system.
@riversidewriting10 ай бұрын
But doesn’t it come with with a halo strap?
@eon532310 ай бұрын
@@riversidewriting No. A halo strap is more like a crown that sits on top of your head and the HMD hangs off the front, covering your eyes. Much MUCH more comfortable, takes pressure off your actual face. However... they're kinda clunky looking. So Apple would never go for that. True solution is a form factor like Big Screen Beyond, tiny tiny actual size so weight becomes non issue.

The applications for businesses... sharing prototypes, presentations to a virtual audience, virtual design etc will be amazing. I also like the idea of having a powerful pc clipped to my belt to eliminate wireless issues. It has a dedicated cinema environment and it will look better than anything you have seen most likely. Dolby Vision and HDR 10. True 3D if you like 3D flicks. 4k micro-Oled panels. Up to a 100 foot wide screen, aka an IMAX sized screen. Then you add the Spatial Audio that supports Atmos . Disney+ also has a theater environment too. Then I’m sure there will be 3rd party apps that have cinema ‘environments. It will be better than a theater or a tv, I guarantee.

I recently downloaded an app to my Mac called FireStream to turn it into a DLNA media server, so I can watch my movie collection on the Quest 3. Firestream is about $30, but there may be free options and there may be better ones. I've been satisfied so far (less than a week--I'm still in the free trial period, but I'll probably pay for it). There are DLNA clients for IOS, so probably you'll be able to use one of them if there's not one that's native to Vision OS immediately. It streams your files over your own home network. It also serves your photos and music, but if you're storing those in the cloud Vision Pro can get them from there.

Thank you for this great video. I hope Vision Pro would cost about 1500$ and it would be a game changer.
