Such horrible behavior on his part, but that's what drugs (including alcohol) will do to you. Then only to find out he wasn't in rehab, he was living alone in hoarder conditions. Oh, it was almost to much to take.

Ah yes, we young ladies (age 14 at the time) just swooned over this man. I'm sure you can hear his brothers (the Bee Gees) harmonizing in the background during the chorus. He was going to join them and then unfortunately passed away. : (

My older cousin introduced me to great music from a young age. I was about 10 yrs old when she bought Andy's new single "I just want to be your everything" & she had me come over to hear it. She played it over & over on a constant loop, until we both had the lyrics memorized. I just turned 55 on Tuesday (Apr 5) & I still know every word of that song & "Shadow Dancing". Those two songs have been burned into my long term memory, so I'll still be able to sing it verbatim when I'm in my 80's or 90's... if my body lasts that long - LOL! I'm so glad more people are starting to discover the music of the "baby Bee Gee" brother. Even though Andy was 12 years younger than Barry (the oldest), they could have been twins. They share very similar facial features & vocal sound. Barry & Andy looked more like twins than the actual fraternal twins, Robin & Maurice did - LOL! Andy is the baby of the family & he was still little when his older brothers hit it big on the music charts back in the 1960's. With the help of his brothers, Andy embarked upon a solo career, which he was very successful at, even in the short amount of time he created music. He put out a few albums, appeared on many TV shows, & also hosted a variety show called SOLID GOLD that did weekly countdowns of the most popular songs of the time. On occasion, he joined The Bee Gees while on their concert tours or TV specials. Sadly, he died just a few days past his 30th birthday (1988) from a heart condition, which was greatly exacerbated by years of alcohol & drug use. He was the youngest, but the first to pass away. Then twin #1 Maurice died in 2003, followed by the other twin, Robin in 2012. Barry, the oldest boy and his sister, Leslie (first born) are the last two surviving Gibb siblings left...

The Bee Gees and Andy Gibb were ALL brothers and of the few, if only, who embraced funk, soul and R&B and we're successful for it. So, no matter a person's skin color, you've got to appreciate their mark on the World and no matter the listeners of their music, their music goes past color. Exhibit A.

"Shadow Dancing" is Andy Gibb's best work. And he had some other really good records too in 1978-79. Unfortunately he died in 1988 at age 30. To put that into perspective, if he were still alive today he'd be 63 and probably still performing just like Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, and others.
