From "Mountain Wedding". Eastman stock dated 1980. This is the same print (not the exact same, though) used for the standalone VHS release of the episode from UAV Corporation, released in the early 1990s.
Thanks to Austin at Reel Revival Film for scanning this print!

This is the first time I recall seeing the non-syndication close.

Some TV stations in the Southern U.S. still air The Andy Griffith Show, aside from it being on services like MeTV, MeTV+ and even Sundance Channel. Though it's likely syndicated prints and not sponsored ones like the ones from Post cereals.

Sister stations WKYT (Lexington, KY) and WYMT (Hazard, KY) both aired the show until the beginning of this year. Every episode, except for a few, had Paramount’s logo. WYMT had a few Viacom prints mixed in with their prints. WKYT had a couple, but not as many as WYMT. None of the Viacom prints, however, had filmed logos.

@@TheVintageTVArchive I worked at WKYT when they updated their TAGS library and got the version with the Paramount logo (2002, I think). They dubbed them onto Betacam SP tapes, which probably lasted them quite a while. The tapes they used before that were U-Matic dubs with the Viacom logo. I don’t know when WKYT started using those, but I remember the slates showing that the film transfer was done in 1984.

What I would do to get those tapes. I've got 17 U-Matic tapes of episodes of "My Three Sons" that I acquired in 2019. Those came from a station in New York. They were from the late 1980s. Those are the only U-Matic tapes I have. I've got nearly 400 tapes consisting of every Beta variant except MPEG IMX. Only a small number of those have episodes of TV programs. Getting those "Andy Griffith" tapes -- though I know that's impossible, if in fact they even still have the physical tapes -- would really spice up the collection.

@@TheVintageTVArchive From checking online, Nashville has a station still airing the show, WUXP-TV, My 30. The Ch. 30 spot in Music City is 40 years old and dates back to its independent days as WCAY-TV (1984-1989) and WXMT (1989-1996). Its affiliations...two goes as an Independent (1984-1986, 1990-1995). It was the Fox station from 1986-1990, and not the more established WZTV 17. Its current callsign comes from its UPN days of 1995-2006. WUXP is co-owned now with WZTV by Sinclair Broadcast Group. My30 airs TAGS weeknights from 9:00-10:00, in competition with WZTV's "Fox 17 News at 9."

Reminds me of the closing from the fifth episode of the show which I have on a five-episode compilation VHS from UAV. Had it for a decade and it still works albeit I haven't digitized it on my Dazzle DVC100 yet.

I have the same tape. The only difference is they used the syndication music and it cuts to the Viacom logo before the credits end.

I wish they had left the sponsor tag at the beginning.

Same here. I've got a print of "My Three Sons" that does leave the sponsor intact both after the intro and in the bottom-right of the closing credits. This isn't the only print of "Andy Griffith" I have where the intro cuts after the "Brought to you by…" line, however, but this is the only B&W print that retains the original closing credits.

@@TheVintageTVArchiveWhat I find interesting is that Premier Promotions and UAV used the original credits, whereas other companies use the standard syndication credits.

Are your films stored in cold places, cause alot of old prints of old shows need to be stored in cold rooms.

I store all my prints in a cool environment. That's something I'm well aware of.
