Agreed. I have never heard a guitarist play so skillfully, and so clean. But it's not just fast, it's melodic. It tells a story. He truly is incredible.

Almost agreed, but I must admit that Andy uses a lot of the same sort of licks. He ties in a ton of harmonic minor with minor third 3-string runs with added 7/9 tapping. Make no mistake though, once he's been playing as long as Satch and Vai...it's gonna be unbelievable. He's already a better riff writer than the two of them combined, but Petrucci is one hell of a riff writer too.

Andy James is one of the only instrumental guitarists that does not make me lose interest. Granted there are so many gifted guitarists out there, but I find myself only able to listen for a bit before becoming bored. Andy James is different, his songs are so creative and unique. .

I've noticed that about guitarists from Great Britain. They seem to explain things so articulately but at the same time so simply. Maybe because me being a player from the US I'm used to a different way but the Brits are masters if this.
