I saw him live a few years ago, and when he was introducing this song, he said, "this song's called Heather, it's for my sister. Her names Sarah by the way." That was so hilarious he's a great performer and puts on a great show.

Yea, he defiantly has a good thing going. I discovered him some years ago, & have always felt the same about a lot of his music. I don't know why he isn't more popular than he is. A true musical gift.
@sasquatchlife8836 Жыл бұрын
I don't think it's standard. Pretty sure this is a baritone guitar which is tuned like 3.5 steps down. Standard tuning for a baritone is BEADF#B. Technically this standard tuning for a baritone though lol so I guess you're right in a sense? Regardless, we are beyond blessed to have Andy to grace us with these heavenly tunes.
@s8terseeyal8teryah8t Жыл бұрын
@@sasquatchlife8836 it's standard. you're right, it's a baritone guitar. if you're comparing this to a guitar tuned to E, each string is tuned 5 half steps down, or a fifth down. The string intervals are the same as a 25.5" scale length guitar tuned to E. I comment on the tuning because it takes a lot of nuance to make a composition like this in standard tuning to sound this good.

I've had the honor to see Andy play twice now in my life and got to meet him both times. He is such a welcoming and humble human being. His art is truly inspiring; I catch myself yearning to hear his music, especially when I am in a rut. Thank you Andy for inspiring myself and countless of others with your beautiful creations

Andy is one of the most amazing guitar players in the history of music. He is an incredible inspiration in so many ways. I admire not just the way he plays (which is awesome) but also the good vibes he gives with his chill and tranquility when playing it.

Dude, please don't ever let yourself get too down. Life is really only a culmination of moments like this that keep us striving for tomorrow. Believe me I've been to the pits of hell myself, as have we all no doubt. All it takes, as you've found, are good moments to reflect on that kept our heads above ground. Just when we think there's no hope something comes along to tweak the inspiration. This is why we should never take ANYTHING for granted. There's good all around us if we seek. Peace.

Wow... This is literally the first time I have EVER understood and deeply felt the message that is being transmitted through a song. Upon hearing the first note I was completely hypnotised, then when I heard 0:21 I just stopped breathing. This has to be the most wonderful work of art ever created, the emotion just flows through so beautifully, and it is just so representative of the feelings felt for another person. All of this just to say one thing : Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

If I ever have a daughter, I'm going to name her Heather. Whenever she feels confused about herself or low, I'll just play this song and remind her of how incredible she is and how much soul she has. I'm going to tell her I was waiting for her before I ever even knew her, and I knew this song was for her. Complicated, but beautiful, graceful, and full of volume, and change. She will be a beautiful song to the world.
