It was a 70s song. I first heard this song when i saw the Warriors as a kid back in the mid 80s on TV. During the end credits as they are walking down the beach into the sunset (I can't think of this song without thinking of that scene, the song captures the movie perfectly). The movie is like a comic book version of gangs in New York city. Each gang had their own personality and looks. It is one of those fun and guilty pleasure pop culture type movies. Alot of memes were created off that movie, not to mention the many catchphrases. Twisted Sister wrote the song Come Out and Play as a tribute to the movie.

The movie was about rival gangs setting up a meeting to come to a peace treaty. While it looked like they would agree to a truce, someone murdered the leader of the movement and blamed a small gang, and all the other gangs then were out to get that gang. The movie is about that gang trying to fight their way back to their turf, encountering all the other gangs along the way back home, while a DJ would update the location of the gang on her radio show. This song is featured at the end. The soundtrack for this movie is so awesome, it is almost like the movie was written for the soundtrack.
