I forgot just how good Julie Benz as Darla was this season. Her crazy laugh, and of course "See no matter how good a boy you are, God doesnt want you! But I still do" is one of the best lines of the series.

Agreed. Favorite part of it is that it's a callback to earlier in the conversation, when they were discussing Buffy. "A guy gets a taste of something fresh, and he thinks he's touching God! You know, there was a time in the early years when you would've said I was the *definition* of bliss. Buffy wasn't happiness. She was just new."

It's been many years since I've watched Angel...only ever owned the first season on DVD but recently re watched the second series and absolutely loved it. Angel goes through such great character progression and actually is a bit of a dick for a good few episodes. He feels like a real person....Darla is such a tragic character and great antagonist and the season fleshes out her backstory and character. Gunn bonds with the group...Wesley and Cordy really come into there own and prove there worth and start to become really useful. Really great philosophical questions that are raised by Wolfram and Heart about Angel never being able to get rid of evil as its part of human nature and what is the point of doing the right thing. Masterpiece of a season.

This alone does not make her abitcha, but combine this when she hits her limit (When She Was Bad, Sanctuary, The Yoko Factor, Get It Done) she skirts the line, especially the last one where I would have liked Kennedy to take over. I agree I wish she had been in more than 3 episodes in the present the rest were flashbacks. She was such a great villain, a vampire who can see you coming and had hypnosis power like when she killed Kendra. I mean it made sense for Darla to be in the show as much as she was, but Angel himself said Drusilla was the worst thing he had ever done as Angelus. But yeah would have liked to maybe have seen her more

i love this season, and i think it’s the second best season of angel. they actually gave darla a character rather than they did in buffy, and she was actually a good sort of villain. drusilla coming in for a few episodes made me extremely happy because i love her, so that was a bonus. plus the random last episodes in paleya (i don’t remember how you spell the name of llornes birth hell dimension) were very interesting and quite the good few episodes.

@Clearie552 Well, it's more about Angel's obsession with Darla but yes, pretty much. The Darla arc runs from the first episode through 2.17 Epiphany-and the rest of the main arc is finished off in 2.18 "Dead End." The Pylea mini-arc takes up the last four episodes and was meant to offset-the doom and gloom of BTVS S5 which was airing in the timeslot right before "Angel."

Yesss you should watch Angel, its really epic... plus, you got Buffy characters that come into Angel too.. as your saw in here Darla, Drusilla and Faith. Cordelia and Wesley are main characters from Buffy who stay in Angel until the final season.. other characters include Spike, Oz, Willow and yes of course, Buffy herself. But they are all just cameo appearances obviously. But yeah Angel is epic, totally recommend it.. watch the Season One trailer from this guy and you'll be amazed! :D
