Angela Davis stood for Vice President as the Communist Party candidate in 1980. This was long after many left the party due to the odious crimes of the Soviet Union. She is anything but a hero, no matter what some might think of Ronald Regan.

Crazy how the crimes of the soviet union don't really matter in this conversation since they were never actually communist (btw I come from one of the baltic states so don't pull the you don't know how bad it was line, I know all about it and yet I have the common knowledge to not equate the soviet union to communism and understand that they used communism as a facade to quite literally be the opposite of leftism)

Oh boy how long do you have? Just read his autobiography, this man has achieved as much for the Black community if not even more than Martin L. King. Even though he started as a separatist, he ended up as one of the most significant humanist figures of mankind. And he got assassinated for it.
