This!!! I got married September 2024, had my trial with my wonderful MUA March 2024 and thought I wanted a more brown toned neutral lipstick. We took loads of pictures in different lightings, I took photos at different timeframes after the trial and also tried with my full outfit. I revisited the photos before the day and realised I thought a more pinky tone would be better suited. We discussed it, no problem at all. And it worked! Communication is key! 🔑

The thing is… like it’s ok to not like your make-up. And it’s ok to be nervous and non-confirtational. And to redo it the way you like.. that’s not the issue here. It’s another to set up your camera, and record yourself. Watch the recording and hit post, MONTHS after your wedding. For what… to bash someone. That’s the reason why you post something like this. Because you want to humiliate someone. That’s why she’s not a nice person. What happened to keeping stuff off the internet when you have a personal issue with someone. @sallytownsendart13 күн бұрын
@Because-rt8qs I understand where you're coming from, but makeup application - easily removed and changed - and "hacking hair" during a haircut are wildly different. And considering it was make up on the day of the event, and the makeup artist is still with you, the key word is 'opportunity' if you were happy with the trial and don't communicate on the day, not giving the artist the opportunity to fix it (which is so easy to do, a professional makeup artist will have a full kit with them) then the artist shouldn't be dragged after the fact.

I'm not on the bride's side here (and I don't think that anything I'm about to say applies to her) but some people do have actual reasons for trying to avoid confrontation. It's not really a question of just "growing up"; there can be genuine issues at play for some people. Personally, I'm an incredibly anxious person anyway and, due to several interactions I've had in my life, I've only recently (as in within the past year) become even remotely comfortable with the idea that if I ask someone to change what they're doing for me, their immediate response *won't* be to somehow lash out verbally or physically, convince me the problem is my fault or that I'm just being difficult for not liking it, or just outright ignore me and carry on doing whatever they're doing without acknowledging I've spoken at all. To me, the response of "but it's a waste of your own money to end up with something you don't like" was (and remains) entirely redundant as an argument because it was a waste of my money *completely regardless* of whether I spoke up or not since the problem was never fixed; the only question was whether I would also be personally insulted, assaulted or dismissed into the bargain, so not speaking up became a way to, sure, waste money but at least I wouldn't also be made to feel like a piece of crap for having dared to criticise someone's work. It's taken me over 2 decades to realise that the people who treated me like that are the exception and not the rule. I will still do everything I possibly can to avoid confrontation - if, say, I go for a haircut and the stylist does my hair in a way I don't like, I won't say anything to them and just do my best to fix it when I get home because, at the end of the day, hair grows and hats exist - but I'm at least on the way to be able to get over that hurdle. And this is all at the relatively lesser end of the spectrum for why confrontation may be difficult for some people - I know of at least one person for whom direct confrontation will trigger a literal trauma response. Like I said, I'm positive that absolutely none of this applies to the bride because she *clearly* wanted the drama while people like me avoid confrontation specifically to avoid any drama whatsoever. I just wanted to provide a perspective on why some people do have issues with confrontation even when it's their own money they're spending.

Sometimes, not liking someone's work is valid, whether it's a personal preference or for other reasons. Like the makeup artist said, at the end of the day, she got paid, and that's what matters since it was a business transaction. Though I don’t agree with how the bride handled the situation, it was distasteful and tactless.

I wonder if the brides come to the makeup pre. Appointment, not wearing white and then when they show up on their wedding day wearing their white dress, it washes them out more. Maybe the bride felt that she looked more washed out. Wearing all the white and it's reflecting up on her Not in her defense or anything, but that could be A. Reason. I think it's really important for future brides to remember to wear white to their makeup appointments so that they know what they will look like on their wedding day with the right color

I'd let them know my preferences and anything i really didnt want, but after that im gonna let them do their thing. there is a reason i went to a MUA. Honestly, idk why people like her even get MUAs because if she could do her boring, plain, everyday makeup, that isnt even noticable in pictures, in 20 mins and want that for her wedding, then why bother with an MUA???

I have a feeling the bride posted it now because all of the shine of her wedding has gone away and she doesn't have anyone paying attention to her boohoo.

I seen someone else theorize that maybe her bridal party didn’t like it and she went with their thoughts instead of sticking with her style and what she wanted. That to me, seems very likely. Her friends do seem like mean girl types. I also have a hard time speaking for myself but that would include going with the flow to my detriment. Not bring attention and be dramatic.

Exactly. U just wouldnt post this shit at all if you were just non-confrontational

Best case scenario the bridesmaids were trying to keep the bride calm by agreeing with her.

when i’m getting ready for nye, an special occasion or even just a night out i’m always so focus on getting ready, getting dressed up, doing my makeup takes a lot of time even if it’s a simple look for me and i barely ever have time to check my phone… i know i worl wouldn’t have my phone around me getting ready on my wedding day cause knowing me i’d be super stressed out, as everyone is saying, quite a red flag in my opinion!!!! but after all i know everyone is different

Is this whole "I hate my wedding makeup so much that I did it myself" a trend now? This is the third bride i see doing this

How can I automatically set it to hear it in english? It automatically uses an AI voice to translate to my original language and it sounds so awful 😖

if youre non confrontational as a bride, get your maid of honor to step in. thats what she is supposed to be there for or am i wrong with that? im very non confrontational and i go along with whatever is happening while literally having a panic attack inside and i know i will have to get someone to be firm and speak up for me when it comes to my potential wedding or whatever is going on. i just dont know whats her issue, just have someone be the "bad guy" for you if you cant do it

I own a flower shop and what I found interesting..the bridesmaid I wasn't dressed when they only had 20 minutes, 2,and she had enough time to set up her phone in her panic and think tic tok..wth you wait until August..I have seen vendors at weddings get slammed by mothers and wedding planners because of lack of communication..I think she looked the same. I wouldn't be surprised if this was done after the wedding with the way it went down..all for clicks baby

I think she looked at her makeup, thought I can redo this myself, I’m going to go viral, and pulled this stunt

Core memory- slandering someones small buisness and income because shes a major diva. Like really who sets up a camera and films that crap? We live in a dystopia

Bride to be, and i feel like im the only one not worrying about Instagram on the big day. Im getting married to get married, not take to take pictures and videos for social media

I understand how much of a red flag or malice intent the Bride's comment of "can't wait to film this for TikTok" came off as but to a degree I'm no better for wanting to hear the tea (encouraging the gossip the bride spilled) or your excitement to make this video and be among the first few to further spread the tea (from a job angle). It was bad of the bride to come at it from that angle but we as the internet truly encourage that behavior too huh. Directly or indirectly through the algorithm.

It did look too bland, like that’s just regular everyday makeup while we’re being shallow here but this just means I hated both the makeups

I was a maid of honour for my best friend and if she wasn’t happy (she’s scared of confrontation) I stepped into that role. People don’t really care unless they are weird.

I didn't even think the makeup looked that bad...perhaps a little dull but could've added more blush but I'm sure it would've looked great in the photos It also looked like it was blended perfectly/matched her neck perfectly as well

Funny thing is: If she made a storytime, told her side of the story, the week after her honeymoon. I am SURE the reception would've been different. It would've been she said, she said. But this 20 year old bride, recorded herself (and her bridesmaids) talking, mentioning tiktok and posted for 5min of fame 5 months after said wedding?! It reminds me of the Dressmaker that started shit about a weddingdress she didn't even finish on time, the internet was quick to find out the dressmaker was shady 😆
