supporting local honey and beeswax businesses are actually very good for the bee population because it supports apiaries the are repopulating the bee species! I completely understand not wanting to use products from animals/living things if that is your reasoning but the actual harvesting of honey/beeswax is actually supporting the saving of bees. I am not sure how that would be on a large scale, like cosmetic harvesting or for large coorperations, but when you can definitely buy/support your local honey businesses!

I never aim to question people's choices but propolis and beeswax and such are beekeeping byproducts and from what I've learned from the beekeepers I've talked to 0 cruelty happens + a lot of effort goes into keeping bees and a lot of understanding of nature is needed to make specific type of honey..

I don't know how it works with beeswax but I know that a lot of times with harvesting honey, bees are being given a water+sugar solution and their honey gets taken away to sell/refine/etc. - but they need certain nutrients and other components in the honey to be healthy. I know that bees do produce a slight excess of honey, but it's hard to know just how much of what they produce is excess.

The cultivation of honey and beeswax, as long as its done ethically, actually contributes to the conservation of bees especially with the prevalence of colony collapse disorder. If people still don't want to use it, or object on the grounds bee keeping can be unethical that is totally fair. But bee keeping is very important in successfully a contributing factor to helping honey bees recover from their declining populations.

Jeffree was probably that friend hyping Tati up and encouraging her to make that rash decision, because it was incredibly out of character for her. I believe this because he deleted THOUSANDS of tweets just before Bye Sister dropped, so you know they were in communication about it, and he was the first in line to kick James when he was down. She likely realized he was a snake and kept it moving. I know we don't talk about it in the beauty community, but she received so much backlash from the general KZbin community. Not undeserved, but it's also not a coincidence that she started getting into the drama the moment she got closer to Jeffree. I'm sure we've all had friends that bring out our worst traits, and it's best to cut them out gradually and quietly.

I had a legit mental break down and was in treatment for anorexia and having horrible panic attacks where I would cry for literally 6 hours every other night and I still went to work all my shifts. I'm an in home nurse and my clients were counting on me and I didn't take a single day off. Just because you're going through something bad doesn't mean you suddenly have no responsibilities. This was 8 months ago and it lasted for three or four months before I recovered and I'm much better now. It makes me so mad when people do bad things then hide behind a "mental illness" so they don't have to take responsibility for their actions. It is a slap in the face to those of us who have a real mental illnesses and who don't behave badly then refuse to take responsibility for our actions. It's disgusting. IDC if she has a mental illness that's not what people are upset about. Lying about the formula to your makeup isn't because your mentally ill, it's because you're a bad person.

Most honey alternatives are actually more harmful to bees than the extraction of honey. Agave is a major food source for bees in climates where it grows and harvesting it removes has a massive negative effect on bee populations. Honey extraction/beekeeping allows a safe, controlled environment for them to thrive. Vegan doesn't always equal ethical.

Here’s the problem with this video and so many of the comments: We need to be far more considerate to people’s mental health than even our gut tells us. Why? Because let’s say, sure, JH has always pulled the mental health card as a tactic and it’s *always* looked like an excuse. Sure. But she explicitly *told us* that she has developed a problem with alcohol (which is something we’re rarely told by celebs and influencers, so keep that in your back pocket). I don’t care if the KZbin roof is on fire. I don’t care if the entire beauty industry is falling apart without JH (you know none of this is the case). A person’s sobriety/recovery from addiction is *PARAMOUNT* . There is literally nothing they need to focus on and foster more than that. I am 7.5 years sober, and I can tell you that my career, my family, my everything *has* to come after my sobriety. It is the #1 rule. Let’s not even consider the possibility that an influencer could be suicidal in any of these cases because who cares? They’ve cried wolf before. What have we let ourselves become over makeup? If you don’t like her, move on. I don’t care much for her, so I don’t really watch her. I see that her channel and her businesses are a mess. But none of that has any bearing on how I feel about sobriety, and *everyone* should stand together on that effort.

I’m not really sure what reasoning is behind not using bee products is. First of all, when people take about bees going endangered, they aren’t just talking about honey bees, but also about the countless of other bee species, which are mostly solitary (live alone instead of in hives, don’t produce honey, but still pollinate). Extracting excess honey from beehives is better for the bees than just leaving it in there. This is because the hive has a limited amount of space, and if this space is taken up by mostly honey, there will be no room for the larve to be stored. If there are little to no larve, the colony will either abandon their hive, or die out because of the decrease in hive population. You also can’t harvest honey without harvesting beeswax with it. Beeswax is basically bee poop, which they use to form the hexagons where they store honey and larve. Proplis is also harvested alongside honey and beeswax.

This is only marginally related, but I am a MAJOR bee nerd and I have some Bee Opinions. I respect vegans and their lifestyle choices, however, harvesting bee products, such as beeswax and honeycomb is not bad for bees and actually aids in fighting the endangerment of bees. Bee farming and harvesting wax and honeycomb from bee colonies is actually instrumental to fighting colony collapse disorder, the leading cause of bee death. Decreasing the market for bee products is actually very bad for bees! The best way for the average human to contribute to saving the bees is to buy local honey and other bee products! I'm not defending the beauty brand for not disclosing that their products are no longer vegan, just wanted to take this moment to dispel this popular myth about bees. Bite beauty was going through similar issues prior to the brand being taken over by Sephora. I only found this out when I went into a Sephora store to get another of their lip masks since I was almost out of it. The Bite beauty section was practically cleared out so I asked a sales associate about it. She said they were claiming to be a 100% vegan “clean” beauty brand but it turned out several of their products contained non-vegan ingredients. She went on to explain that Sephora actually bought out Bite beauty to ensure they reformulated these products to be a truly 100% vegan brand. I’d love to see your input on this

Hi, not to invalidate anything you said about the nudestix being vegan, but buying bee products such as honey or wax actually helps bees and helps prevent bees from becoming more endangered than they are (basically supply/demand, so if the demand for honey and wax is up, then more people we care for bees). Though keep in mind its always better to buy locally such as farmers markets than it is to buy products from large companies, because local beekeepers tend to have better conditions and living accommodations for their bees.

I can confirm the apology thing. I worked for a company (cant disclose the name as I can get in some shit) where they constantly had issues with their product ALL the time and me and my co workers would always call it a piece of shit because it WAS a piece of shit, BUT the company always made us talk and email customers in a way where we always acknowledge the issue but never apologized for it nor made it a KNOWN problem as we will help them get it passed along or resolved as soon as possible. In reality it was actually a BIG problem that the company was trying to get fixed as soon as they could and if anyone was to tell the customer that it was a issue we were dealing with it could open the company up to lawsuits as in advertisements they sell the product to be reliable and not have issues and it could also cause problems with other business partners as well 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Another reason why I hated working CS especially on phones when dealing with angry customers lol.

Angelika, European bees (the ones farmed for honey) are not endangered, native and endemic bees to territories are endangered. So saying "bees" are endangered is a half true statement that causes panic.

Where I'm from (the UK) it's definitely illegal to fire someone for getting sick so I disagree with tea spill completely. this time she hasn't said she's struggling with mental health, she said she's spending 6-8 hours a day with doctors and IVs. I've never heard of IVs for mental health. Provided she's being honest, it sounds more serious than that this time.

I complteley agree! I don't believe that in Tati's orginal video she was calling James a predator. She said he eas being g creepy but creepy and pushy doesn't = predator. A predator is a completely different. feild. But that Jeffree jumped on the bandwagon that the intetnet was spinning and made claims that James was fully a predator.

When it comes to Tati and Jeffree, I think anything that happened between them had to have been after the “Bye Sister” drama was over, because she did review the Blue Blood Pallet, and also the Jawbreaker Collection that came out last summer. Also around fall last year did a “Influencer Makeup Review” and used JSC concealer and powder. After that she completely stopped reviewing his products, and not only hasn’t reviewed the Bloodlust Pallet but also didn’t review the Conspiracy Pallet. Which is right when her pallet launched, and surprisingly Jefree never reviewed hers either.
