Yes she was singing it in a lower key but so did Whitney most of the times when she performed it live. Still feeling the effects of jet lag on a cool and windy day, she performed this song twice back to back. The event was being recorded by TV2 Norway/Sweden to be aired the following day. My understanding is that they experienced some technical difficulties and asked Angelina if she could sing it again. As the ultimate professional, she did and she nailed it. Thank you for another great reaction video.

Exactly. She was given 30 seconds to add some fixing sparay or glue or whatever to prevent the hair from blowing into her face like crazy, like it did in the first take, and then she did this. I guess this is as close to see Angelina a bit put off as you ever will. And add the fact that she already performed the song twice before that, first during the sound check and then on the rehearsal. This was her 4th time singing this song. Lungs of steel and vocal chords of pure diamond. She also sang Bohemian Rhapsody twice that day. At 16. In windy and a bit chilly conditions, far from what she was used to from LA, which she left the day before. The two outfits she wore didn't give a lot of insulation, so I'd imagine she was a bit cold as well. And what about jet lag ? She is just on a different level than most.

Yes, she sang it TWICE with barely a minute between versions. I had heard that Angelina wasn’t satisfied with her gestures (being distracted by the wind), so she too, wanted to try another take. As to the lower key… someone mentioned (and I didn’t realize it at the time) that this venue has always been advertised as a sing-along (Allsang På Grensen - “Singalong at the border) and she possibly lowered the pitch slightly to accommodate those who WERE singing along (they pass out lyric sheets before the performances). In any case… it was beautifully done by Angelina once again! ❤️👣

I don't think she got confused there. She sang this song twice on the show. This version was a re-take. She requested a re-take probably because she's not satisfied on her first try. On her first try she sang it the same on the part that you're saying she got confused.☺️

Angelina returned to Norway and to the stage in great form, even though it had been nearly 3 years since her last full concert in Norway. Angelina had a full concert on July 1 and has concerts on July 7 and 10th in Norway. her sustained, diminishing vibrato at the ends of phrases is phenomenal, so quiet, so perfectly executed then there is the belting, she coasts through crescendos that most singers strain to reach (if they even can), just makes it look so easy so she sang 17 songs in one of the several concerts she did in the last few days, maybe in each .. she was even taking requests from the audience in one of them .. she has had a few small glitches but its clear it ain't no lip synch

This is such a great performance and she is doing it all live and in short order sang it three times which probably takes a lot of stamina as this is not really a sweet little lullaby :-) At any time she was magnificent and her growth is spectacular: she must put in a LOT of hard work. Where I draw a blank is here: we have seen her grow in her art from the age of 7 till now when she is 16. A tremendous growth in 9 years. Her voice will not fully mature until mid-twenties: another 9 years. So we can expect the same jump to happen. The blank I have is what that can possibly entail. She is already off the charts and for me to figure out what that new jump will mean…. Terra Incognita :-) Luckily I can enjoy her performance from way back when and her current work and can be just excited about what is to come. Thanks Nick!

Great reaction and comments. If that was indeed a mistake - it could just as well be one of Angelina’s lyric changes - it bore the hallmark of a true professional: The flawless save! (Some fans will think Angelina is incapable of mistakes. Any musician will know that is simply not possible for a human, which she very much is. About her "air" control. A professional voice teacher reactor noticed that Angelina's technique is to take in smaller quick breaths and immediately release the notes. It makes her sound like she never runs out of air. Most singers like to take in full breaths which causes a small pause as their lungs fill out and then they sing.

Great reaction! But I must say, if you think she made a mistake near the end, I believe you don't fully understand Angelina Jordan. Then again, who does fully understand her and her expertise? One reason I believe this was intentional, and not a mistake, is that (FUN FACT THAT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND), this was her FOURTH time singing it in a relatively short span of time that day! I understand (from a couple of people who were there) that she did it once for a sound check; a second time for rehearsal; a third time for the audience; and the one you just saw was the FOURTH time, which was either for an encore request from the audience or request from Norway's channel TV2 which was filming it! Talk about breath control, energy, and stamina -- at 16! Since she was at least 8, Angelina has ALWAYS been about "intentional effect."

She does sound _much_ more mature here, and it's not just because she's singing it in a lower key this time (although that definitely "helps"). I think even if she sang it today in the original key, she probably would sound much more like Whitney did in terms of handling the highs with less "effort". In the previous "tribute", Angelina had to really work to get up as high as Withney for the highest notes, but then she also seemed (to me) to belt those notes with more "confidence" than Whitney did in the original studio version. (Something that really shocked me when I first realized it.) Here, largely because she doesn't have to belt as high, she seems much more comfortable with that aspect of the performance, and yet at the same time it feels like she's holding back a bit at certain points. I don't know if that's purely a creative choice or to some extent a practical one. Which brings me to the issue of her "control". The thing about that here is, it's not _just_ about control: it's about control _and_ freedom. She doesn't have her voice in a straightjacket, she has it on a leash. (Not that that's a new thing for her…) Unfortunately, it seems to "get away from her" a couple of times, but, oh, well… It was still a solid performance. And I'm not even going to mention that dress…😶

Hello Nick, I always enjoy your reaction, but this was especially interesting, I very much liked your review of your own older reaction to her earlier cover. Though this is not my favorite song of all times and I've heard it maybe too often already it's really a pleasure to hear what Angelina does on it with her phenomenal voice - still I prefer her other, more intimate recordings with less belting and more song whispering... like My Funny Valentine or Suspicious Minds - but the audience loves this song, and this is an annual sing-along festival (Allsang - 'all sing') and was a request by the listeners of the radio station that is organizing the event. Angelina already took part in it at age 8 (Feeling Good and others...), so it was like a 'back in time' experience, also this was her first time on stage after 3 years hiatus due to Covid... As this festival features different artists Angelina sung only two songs there, this and "Bohemian Rhapsody"... Right now she's doing solo concerts of which so far we have only amateur recordings, but I heard there were pro cams filming at the event, so I hope some of these will be released, as her songs are great, but the audio quality isn't perfect... Nick, I mostly agree with your assessment of what you observed. However, I don’t believe she got confused. Due to issues outside of her control, Angelina had to sing this song twice. To her credit, she didn’t let that bother her. She went forward to put forth this spectacular performance. what makes this stunning performance even more spectacular for me is the fact that it’s a live performance. Angelina did what I have never heard any other female vocalist do in this same setting. As great as Whitney was I wasn’t nearly as impressed with her live performances of this song as I was with her studio performance. As you like to say, Angelina bodied this cover and she did so, live, while still only being sixteen years old. I can’t wait to see the reaction videos to her upcoming July 10th concert. There is no question or doubt that Angelina’s official youtube channel is going to be lit up with views and comments. I think her Norway concerts are the launching pad for Angelina to begin her professional career. Word has it that Angelina’s debut album with Republic Records will be released next month.

Hi Nick great to see you here - Angelina has done her first regular concert July 1. and there are Fan Videos out there - pls do Suspicious Minds i think it is her last song and she got very emotional at the end - priceless to watch - highly recoment tishues - by the way i got her book "Mellom to hjerter" and i Translated it to German - oh man i had to fight tears - very hard - a book of a 9 year old girl so well and honest with the Story of Princess - Angelina dont get her real name - doing her school homework on a street in Teheran i guess while earning money with a bathroomwage for people to wage to to make a living for her siblings - a girl Angelinas age with a late mom and small brother - not begging but working during a cold rainy day with no shoes and injured feet - people passing her looking down with superstition. this is the Real Story why Angelina gave her shoes to the girl - pls guys purchase her book and read it - it is outstanding stuff and we all can learn a lot - the wonderful pictures of Madame Zamany add also much to the storytelling too - you got to buy it belive me - cheers from Germany

i am not convinced that angelina made a mistake here or whether it was how she arranged it. she has to be suffering from some vocal fatigue here for sure as literally 5 minutes earlier she had just finished singing this complete song but someone from allsang or whoever was recording it screwed up and they had to ask her to sing it again.despite this she was able to nail it again and because this is such a vocally demanding song it is quite a display of her talent.

Good job. There are a lot of reactors out there but a small percentage of those are the ones I return to because they have content and tell me things I didn't know. You're one of those few. I had previously checked reactions to this video of a few of my favored reactors. You're the first one to notice the key change. Some time ago, I looked into this issue with that earlier Angelina performance that you put up first in this reaction. That earlier performance was in the same key of Whitney's official (studio) performance of I have Nothing. That early Angelina performance appeared to be a single take. (hard to be sure of that) I didn't see any cuts in that video. If that's the case, it would be more appropriate to compare that early Angelina recording to live performances. I looked for some Whitney live performances on the internet. Whitney sang this piece a step lower in concert than she sang it in her official video. I'm sure that protects the voice, especially when you're on tour. And in a live performance, there are no retakes. That helps the singer's confidence. I think Angelina's 2022 version is lowed even more than a step. There's a limit to how much you can do this with this type of song. (I'd call the style "Pop Diva.") Side-by-side, the higher pitch will play bigger, and that's what the audience wants from a Pop Diva.

Angelina's original cover of the song blew me away, but she has definitely improved. I took a look at a live Whitney Houston performance of it, and I think Angelina did it better.

Where you commented that Angelina may have gotten a bit lost in the lyrics near the end, she may have intentionally modified the song. Welcome to Angelina in her native Norway. She did this festival almost every year from right after winning Norway's Got Talent at 8 yrs old till about 11. Great reaction. I am waiting for more reactors to jump on these new performances. I have heard after Allsang Pa Grensen held at Fredriksten which is a fortress in the city of Halden in Norway and where she did only two performances, she did about 17 songs in her performance at Kurbadhagen of which I have seen only about a half dozen including a new performance of 'Love On the Brain' and a couple of new Amy Winehouse songs. Right she made a bit of a mistake and came in too fast at the end for the rest of the song she should have taken one more second air and it would have sounded better, but for age ½16 I would travel to her show anywhere in the world 😉 and that says it all ... 👑 🗣🎙🎷

Angelina has always played fast and loose with the beat. She sings what is in her head. This is less noticeable when she is singing in front of a live band. They practice to where those changes are more normalized. You can't do that with a pre-recorded backing track, so you notice it more. Dude, she has had vibrato in her voice since she was 5-6, and by 7 yrs.old she could change the rate of it depending on the song. She could also quiet it down or feature it. If you watch all her performances on NGT 2014 you will see all this at work. I know what she can do, and when you are a singer, and you're ramping up to the big finish and you get the words out of order, your brain goes careening everywhere at once trying to figure out a repair. Your brain is scrambling getting a fix to get out of this mess. You default to an easier vocal line that's why she sang a couple of the higher parts in falsetto because it takes energy and concentration to take a high belt to it's completion. Great job Nick, as always you hear things that us mortals only hear the normal stuff. Keep them coming.

She sounded absolutely stunning I think the don't you dare is never meant to be said twice. It's only said once. But it's absolutely fine. I think this was still one of the best renditions becsuse people can't survive on this song singing the Belting parts and she did it with ease on them all
