Everyone's first reaction to Angelina follows the same pattern: you're stunned, you struggle to understand, you accept that she is real to finally feel totally inadequate as a human being. How can a girl barely out of her baby teeth perform like that? Angelina has everything: range, control, power, tone, timing and the surreal aptitude to choose the right way to sing a particular song. Angelina and her family have lived several years abroad. She has a special story she wants to tell us about singing barefoot on stage, she never wears shoes due to an experience she had as a six year old when she and her parents lived in the middle East where she met a homeless girl who worked as a street vendor. After they talked for a long time, the girl said to Angelina, " so nice shoes you have ". Angelina said, " Thanks, do you want them? " So Angelina gave her shoes to the girl and asked her what was her dream. The homeless girl vendor said she would like to be a doctor, "but I can not" . After Angelina gave the girl her shoes she vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world’s children had them. Since that time, Angelina has always performed barefoot in public.

Her parent's want her to have a childhood so thay haven't allowed any tours or extensive gigs. Her public performances are not frequent.she did sing for the Nobel peace prize concert.

Great to see new people discover Angelina! She is one of the best singers you will ever hear... as legit as it gets. For anyone interested in reading more about her, here is a little Bio I put together with some stuff about her (answer to why she is barefoot included ;) ) *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born in Jan 2006. She is currently 13 (barely 9 in this performance) - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through KZbin videos and studied all the greats from Jazz history. - Angelina always sings barefoot..... When Angelina was 6, she was traveling and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. The girl complimented her on her pretty shoes, so Angelina took them off and gave them to the girl. She made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public she is barefoot. (that's a shortened version. the full story is more touching than the way I have told it here) - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the money, the 8 year old replied "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 100 songs over the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, and many more. All of which were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written three of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

@ Thanks for the info, but that's actually the first video in my unlisted "Angelina - All Videos on KZbin" list that I mentioned (the one with 300 videos). I just didn't count that song because she is a baby and it is only one line ;) All the songs on my song list are the full song. Even the ones at the end that are just clips... she is singing the whole song. It just isn't all on the video.

I have been watching Angelina Jordan's performances since 2016, after first viewing a video of her win "Norway's Got Talent" in 2014, at the age of 7 years old. She has always performed barefooted. She was just on "AGT the Champions," and I, finally, found out why she performs with bare feet. She said that she saw a little girl in the cold with no shoes, and the little girl had sores all over her feet. Angelina gave the little girl her shoes. After that, at each performance, she remembers that little girl and the children out there with no parents, no homes, and no shoes, and in their memory, she performs with no shoes.

She has just turned 9 here, so at this time she had been recording for 4 years and had been singing jazz since she was 18 months old. She entered a number of talent shows from age 5, and won Norways got talent against adults at age 8. Angelina only performs barefooted, she wrote a book about the story behind this. She is the youngest author ever to be published in Norway. The book is illustrated by her famous Iranian artist grandmother Mery Zamani. It tells the story of her meeting a shoeless homeless girl on the subcontinent, and giving the girl her shoes and telling her not to give up on her dreams. She performs barefooted in memory of that encounter and to keep herself grounded. So Angelina is known as "the angel of the feet". Angelina at this time spoke 3 languages - english being her 3rd. She also plays piano. flute and violin and is working on the guitar. She has recorded many covers and has released 3 quality songs of her own and is due to release more. Before first listening to Angelina I had used all my superlatives on other singers most of whom I don't remember now. I had a problem: how can I use for Angelina the same words I used to describe some generic singer on some generic talent show. Oh, many of them were very truly fantastic but none of them can compare especially after hearing a dozen of her best covers. You see, she forced me to change the meanings of words I thought I knew. Like you said, even if that particular performance had come from a 25-year old Angelina it still would be astounding and un-believable as in "how is that possible"? Here is a thought experiment for you: can you think of a single female singer, dead or alive, who could have done this? Think of all the divas floating around...

It was a Screamin Jay Hawkins version of the song(you see SJH on the mug she's holding at the start)... And one may wonder how she even know and heard that guy. Angelina Jordan is an old soul. She loves to sing old classic songs. She's mainly a jazz singer but can well adopt to almost any genre you throw to her. Angelina Jordan is not just singing she's creating music. She did all the arrangement of most of her cover songs and performances. She has written 3 original songs. She plays various musical instruments. Angelina is currently on America's Got Talent-Champions 2, where she performed Bohemian Rhapsody Jan 6, 2020 & got the Golden Buzzer. That sends her straight to the finals, I think next month sometime. The video went viral & all the reactors are covering her now. She was 13 when the show was taped last Oct, but she just turned 14 Jan 10. From the age of 7-13 she has covered 125 songs on youtube, including all genre, by over 60 different artists, with 4 originals (3 written by her & 1 written for her). She also has an amazing album from 2018 called "It's Magic" & she just released a studio version of Bohemian Rhapsody without all the noise from the AGT-C crowd. I finally got to hear the ending that the audience drowned out. I also recommend her version of A Million Years Ago & California Dreaming. She's AMAZING!!!!!

I happened to see NGT of her when it went viral when she was just SEVEN (she's nine years old here) and chose Billie Holiday's cover of "Gloomy Sunday" my jaw dropped when I realized that she was a jazz/blues singer literally from the time she was a(baby/toddler) Her mom has a home video of Angelina trying to sing along with Whitney Houston at one and a half because she thought it was cute. Her voice is quite simply amazing and, I believe it was SpiritWolf (another great fan), who tallied 103 covers (plus her own songs too she wrote for herself) done by Angelina so far. She's only thirteen now but her parents were firm (kudos to them) that she have as normal a life as possible for someone as talented as herself and she has the summer to vacation/sing and then goes back to school in Norway when school starts up. She also donated all her winnings from NGT to children's charities because she wanted every child in the world to at least have shoes for themselves. There is no shortage (I believe) of musicians/songwriters who would love to work with her.

@ Well this list was made for keeping track of all the songs, so I didn't really put it in a "listening order". Also, some of the videos in that list are not necessarily the best version, but they are in the list because they have the song name in the title. I have another list I use for listening, that is about 75 of my favorites to listen to. They are arranged in chronological order. As others have already commented, she adapts her voice to virtually any artist or song style. She is one of the only people who can do justice to an Amy Winehouse song. As far as her feet....when she was 4 years old she and her parents were in I forgot which country Arabia? jordan? In that area when she saw a girl her age and they started talking and became friends and she noticed the girl had no shoes and there were scars on her feet so she gave the little girl her shoes. The girl thanked her and said to her, " I will pray for you" ever since then when she's on stage she goes barefoot is sympathy for all the children around the world who are poor and have no shoes..........read what you want to into that but you see the talent she is today.Personally it made me pick up my moms bible and start reading it and I attend church which is something I haven't done before.

Angelina Jordan is pure talent, and an amazing child. I don't know the whole story of her bare feet, but what I believe is that when she was about 6 years old somewhere in Asia I think, she was approached by a street vendor about her age and the vendor commented on how she like Angelina's shoes. So Angelina gave the girl the shoes she was wearing. The girl told Angelina the she would pray for her so Angelina performs public concerts in honor of that street merchant. There is vhf a lot more to the story but I don't know it all. From what I understand Angelina wrote and published the story about it.

I agree. Of all the songs she has sung this is by far the most emotionally charged. The moments of silence create a sombre atmosphere and the voice conveys utter despair that tells a story others can only dream of. And knowing that a song needs to tell the story is something that Angelina does on every song. She is the ONLY singer I know who can identify the emotions within the lyrics of a song and by her performance convey those emotions to the listener.

Allready when she was around 5-6 she stopped and talked to a little homeless girl when she was in Asia and Angelina gave that little girl her own shoes, since the other girl didnt have any. Angelina told the little girl never to give up on her dreams. Thats the reason Angelina never uses shoes on stage, to honor that other little homeless girl. She was barefoot from her first performance on stage at Norway's got talent and she has been since (on stage). Thats Why they always focus on her feet I guess.

In the first few scenes of the video she's holding up a candle with a picture of a man on it. That man is "Screamin' Jay Hawkins". The arrangement they used is very close to the arrangement that Screamin' Jay sang (youtube has a video of this). What really blows me away is that she is every bit as good as the band members. None of the band look younger than 30. They obviously recognize and accept her as the talented vocalist that she is. One more thing is that for her to be in love (which she obviously is) with this kind of music means she has an extraordinary level of musical appreciation. Just curious...How many times did you go back and listen to the song the whole way through after you finished with the reaction video? I did four retakes the first time I heard it, if memory serves.
