Then she starts singing and her voice embrases us and make us feel that longing the song is all about. 😊 Then I am sure she went out and unfolded her wings ready to embrase us all...😊 (I got a little carried away, but she does that to me..😅)

Absolutely phenomenal performance from our musical genius, to perform in her home country with the Norwegian Kork Orchestra for the Nobel Pease concert, what a honour and for Angelina a very special experience, not the first time Angelina has performed at the Nobel Peace concert, the other time she performed at the concert was in 2014 with her rendition of (It’s A Wonderful World), and Angelina has collaborated with the Norwegian Kork Orchestra many times, one time when she was 10 years old with her arrangement of (Back To Black) , and again with her amazing performance of (Summertime) , Angelina is so talented and special, she has helped raise millions of dollars for environmental causes and children’s charities, Angelina Jordan Astar, it’s in her name!

I love the way Ms. Jordan can transport us to the remembrances of the past, but let's not forget that this young living legend is a contemporary, a masterclass artist that is continuing to experiment with tone and technique to create a newness in music, that will dominate world music for decades to come. The recipient for this year's award was Narges Mohammadi, an Iranian dissident, now in an Iranian prison for her outspoken messages and activism for women's rights. Narges' two twin children spoke on her behalf at this event prior to Angelina's singing. They are Angelina's age and haven't seen their mother in years. She was able to speak with both before her performance. I'm sure this performance was a very poignant moment for Angelina--one quarter Iranian herself, and whose grandmother Mery is full Iranian. The national orchestra of Norway, KORK, has done numerous concerts with their native daughter, the Nobel Peace Prize Tribute the most recent. I have learned more about Norway over the past two years, since discovering Angelina, than I knew over the past 80 years prior. A gorgeous country, much like their daughter. We are blessed that we are now graced with her residence.

You will undoubtedly hear the word effortlessly numerous times referring to the way she sings .As far as her training she was in an after school music program where she learned music theory and composition but her instructors knew better than to mess with her vocal talents.I believe she has an EXCEPTIONAL ear for MUSIC...

Angel, thanks for your reaction and commentary. Angelina worked with the orchestra to create this version of "Unchained Melody" to convey the emotions for Narges Mohammadi, as she sits in a Iranian prison and her twin children who are Angelina's age. I feel Angelina's cries of love and dispair, which amount to pleas to set Narges free and continue her work as an advocate of women's rights. Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges was, at the time of this tribute, on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change. In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time". "Unchained Melody" comes from the film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.

Little, background on this event. This the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony fir Narges Mohammadi who is currently serving a 31 year prison sentence in Iran for supporting Human rights. Her two children, who are Angelina's age sre there to recieve their Mother's award. Angelina' Grandma, Mery Zamani is Iranian, so this is very personal for Angelina and her. They chose Unchained Melody because for it's reference, for it was written for a 1955 movie called Unchained, in which a man imprisoned is longing for his love ones. When Angelina sings, looking at Narges' children " I'll be coming home, wait for me", it has to have tremendous emotional impact. This is a great honor for Angelina.. that is why this is sung so Reverently.

Hi Angel. I'm new to your channel, and I already love your reaction style. You deliver your reaction with warmth and sincerity, backed by an obvious love for and knowledge of music. Angelina has one of the most massive and intensely loyal fan bases in existence, and sometimes some of us may appear to be too over-protective of her, but the great majority of us understand and deeply appreciate the vast amount of work and dedication you all put into bringing us your channels, and the extremely important role you play in bringing to the attention of the world, so many artists who might not otherwise get the exposure they deserve. Angelina does work incredibly hard at her craft and has also benefitted from a high level of training but, as you correctly implied, it is clear that she is also outstandingly and uniquely gifted. Her ability to convey emotion through her singing is unparalleled, and has been even from a very young age (remarkably, long before she was even old enough to have possibly experienced for herself the emotions inherent in many of the songs). That cannot be taught. There also has to have been something already present within her, for her to have been able to achieve such an amazing level of vocal control and musical intelligence at such a young age. The transcendental, multilayered and multitextured, bewildering beauty of her voice cannot be taught. Yes Angel, Amy Winehouse is a major influence of Angelina's, along with Billy Holiday, Dinah Washington, Whitney Houston, Elvis, Lana Del Ray & Adele. Then she has about 50 more that are minor influences, but influences all the same. The last notes in this performance are heavenly!

Angel .. like others have watched this many many times. Loved this reaction .. watching your lovely face as your feelings where apparent :) .. there are many people who are born with the possibility of greatness .. great singers, great athletes, great painters .. that have that extra 'something' .. a genius .. something better than the average in body .. perhaps how the brain is wired .. that never develops .. for whatever reason. Then there are those who for whatever reason .. take that hidden genius of mind and body .. and take it to where we recognize the prodigy .. we see a Beethoven, a Di Vinci . an Angelina .. and we are better because of this .. and we are special if we can be part of this .. even as a spectator.

I agree with you 100%. I just had this conversation with someone about this. Very few of us has that hidden talent that can be developed. If I had taken singing lessons my entire life it would not help at all. I'd sound like someone stepping on a cat. Lol.

👣Thank you for your reaction to the angelic master-performance by Angelina. She sure did this great song justice, to say the least. This was performed desember 11th last year, very close to exactly 10 years after she performed her audition for the "Norwegian Talents", singing "Gloomy Sunday" from Billie Holiday. BTW; - I think there is nothing wrong to mention Amy Winehous as we listen to Angelina. Angelina has taken great inspiration from Amy, and her admiration for her music is obvious, I think. She has even covered quite a few Amy songs as well. At least these 6; - "Back To Black" 10 yo, "Rehab" - 12 yo, "I`m No Good" (rehearsel only) 13 yo, "Our Day Will Come" 14 yo, "Tears Dry On Their Own", 16 yo, "Valerie" 12 and 17 yo, 👣 🤗

GREETINGS EARTH WOMAN: You may know the song is from a movie called Unchained from the 50s about an unjustly incarcerated individual who is yearning for his family and love. The recipient of the award is an Iranian woman who is incarcerated unjustly. Angelina's grandmother is Iranian as well so it all comes together really beautifully.

Ignore those who make silly comments..we know your heart is in the right place and we know you deeply respect this fabulous artist..As for Angelina, all the stars aligned to create quite possibly the most gifted vocalist of all time..watch out for the AW comparison, you might get more flack for that too lol! There are similarities but only because both artists were inspired by the jazz greats of old such as Billie Holliday etc..they’re bound to both be similarly influenced vocally.

Great reaction, Angel D 🙂 I do understand that it can be a bit overwhelming to see her development all at once like you do. That why a lot of reactors have come to the conclusion that they wanna react to her in a more chronological order. Luckily, there are a few EXCELLENT channels out there with extensive playlists of EVERYTHING she has ever done, both chronologically and also sorted by other filters like live performances and so on. I'm not saying that YOU should necessarily do that, but I just wanted to let you know that there definitely is a possibility if you so want. ONE great source for this would be the playlists on Rusty Shackleford's channel. No need to apologize. I agree that Angelina has innate ability to start with. But now Angelina is just incredible and she is not yet finished developing because a female vocal is usually not finished developing till in her 20s...its almost scary to think what she would sound like in 10 years ❤❤❤❤❤

Have to explain it. There is always trolls out there ready to attack you if you say the wrong thing. Even when Angel D says she don't know everything about a particular artist. Or take what you say the wrong way. You like most people have sense. But not everybody is that way.
